Ledges Trail to Red Connector, Bennett’s Pond / Hemlock Hills, CT [FTR Series]

- Great rip starting at the top of the Ledges Trail and continuing down Red Connector. Both trails are rated black on Trailforks, but I think that would depend on your speed. Regardless, it is a lot of fun if you like flow tech.
Trail Detail:
If you ride the trail clockwise the Ledges Trail starts with a challenging tech climb. Once you are at the top it drops down to an intersection with the Red Connector. This trail is ridiculously fast once you get past the two tight switchbacks. At the very bottom you will cross over a small bridge and end up on the White Trail.

FTR (Follow The Rider) is a new series focused on mountain biking one or two specific trails. It will be different from my POV videos in that there will be no b-roll or music. The goal is to give viewers a look at a complete run from start to finish.

I love how you're always open to trying new things and experimenting with different
Thanks. Trails like this are the spice of life.
As always, another great video Sage.
Watching your videos is always a breath of fresh air in my busy life (as you know). Everytime I have less and less time available, so thank you for sharing the video and giving me these short but pleasant breaks. Be well my friend.
You are always much to kind, thanks Luis. Stay tuned for the full destination ride coming out soon.
What great weather and the trail was fantastic Sage. Awesome ride and a great video as always mate. Have a great rest of the week and ride on🤙
Thanks Christoph. It's the perfect time of year! Stay tuned for the full video.
Awesome ride Sage! The trail definitely had everything! Excellent reminder to keep the hands loose 👌🏽
Yes!!! Thanks for watching Uzi
“Good thing film’s cheap” love it. These looks like awesome trails.😮👍
This place was amazing Gene. I think you would enjoy this place, check out the full video here: th-cam.com/video/YR70rl5jzC8/w-d-xo.html I would love to hear your thoughts.
@@TrailSage thanks. I started watching it. Looks fantastic. Btw, what kind of mtb do you have? Are you riding a trail bike with 140mm travel? I am trying to figure out my first full suspension mtb. I am thinking a xc with 120mm travel or a trail mtb with short travel. Not sure though.
@@GeneVilleneuveMy full suspension is a Ibis Mojo 3. It's currently set up with 150 in the front and 130 in the back.
For the kind of trails you ride I would def go for the 140 to 150 range. The new geo makes bikes super efficient. The old saying of "more travel equals slower" no longer applies.
Hope that helps, and good luck Gene!
@@TrailSage Thanks... I'm torn because I also do a lot of distance and ride to the trail. I'm not keen on driving to ride. So need to investigate and ask around. I'm thinking a trail bike too. But I want something super lightweight.
@@GeneVilleneuveI totally get it. Whenever I have to ride to a trail head I just lock out my front and rear shock and that does the trick. Being efficient on the road portion is not that important to me. However having a light capable bike on the trails is. If you don't want a lot of travel check out the Ripley from Ibis.
Winter mode trails looking good. Lots of tech this winter for sure!
Heck ya! Gonna put in the hard work this off season to come back even stronger next year. Let's do this Zane!
NIce little descent there Sage... And some tricky switcher-roos in there too...
Also: Glad your buddy isn't gonna Sand Bag it is Cat 2... :D
lol!!! Thanks Phil.
Good stuff!
Thanks Andy!
Looks a lot like where I rode in CT. But Im sure they pretty much do up there. HA! Great ride!
I know right?!?! Gotta love CT. Stay tuned for the full ride video. Thanks for watching Johnnie!
Looked great Sage... It's a shame about those tech flow killing switchbacks 😂😂
I just need to improve my weakside endo turn ;) Thanks for watching Sam. Stay tuned for the full ride hopefully coming out next week.
