- The back half of the David English loop at White Clay Creek State Park in Delaware is so much fun to rip on the mountain bike. Much like a lot of the trails in this network it will make you feel like you’re on a rollercoaster. If you are proficient at pumping the trail you can learn to pickup plenty of free speed.
The bonus clip features a small section of the Chestnut Hill trail located at Judge Morris Estate which is another sub section of Middle Run/White Clay. The full loop is great in either direction and is a great way to extend a ride.

FTR (Follow The Rider) is a new series focused on mountain biking one or two specific trails. It will be different from my POV videos in that there will be no b-roll or music. The goal is to give viewers a look at a complete run from start to finish.

That must be tricky sometimes if you come across a hiker or runner, as you're speeding down? Great to see you out there having fun Sage 👍
Excellent comment Martin! Riding anywhere requires a balance of exhilaration and caution, but especially at a place like White Clay where hikers are prevalent. I always try to remember that our interactions reflect on the whole mountain bike community.
Have a Happy New Year. And here's to hoping we have an even better 2024. Let's do this brotha!
I bought a little handlebar mounted cow bell at REI for trails like white clay. Hikers love it. It’s not a substitute for being aware and sharing the trail obviously, but they usually hear me coming well before I see them.
@@jstogdillGreat idea Jim!
@@TrailSage it’s a Timber Yew! It is kinda dorky, I’m not gonna lie. But it really works and I have been thanked for using it countless times on the trail. If the dinging starts to get on your nerves it has a lever that silences the bell.
@@jstogdillI love it Jim. I usually just rely on my loud hubs, lol.
love this trail, glad you came out and done this for your channel!
Thank you so much Allen. Hope you had a wonderful holiday surrounded by family and friends.
This atmosphere of trails in summer is a dream🤩. Awesome rides and awesome trails🤘. Thanks for sharing Sage. Have a great week and ride on mate✌
I know. I look at these and dream of those summer rides again, lol. Thanks for watching Christoph.
Look at you... enthusiastically enjoying flow trails! Love it! Stick was crushing that day too!
Thanks Dan. And yeah, Stick has been riding super strong lately.
Love that trail lucked out got down it 3 times last week👍
That's awesome Paul! Thanks for commenting
Nice zooty little trail that Sage!
Thanks Phil! Have a Happy New Year
Super fun ride!! Jealous of the weather 😮😃👌🏽
Yeah, I'm looking forward to the warmer weather too. Thanks for watching Uzi
I didn't realize white clay had long flow like this. I know it's pretty tame out here but I think it might warrant a visit next season!
The riding there reminds me of the flow you find at LGP. It gets more technical with speed. I think it's worth a visit if you are looking for a fast rollercoaster type of ride. It would also be a great place to take your girl.
@@TrailSage great insights!
So many good trails over there at WC. Nice run, Sage!
Thanks Sam. Def some fast flow to be had there.
Super nice flat flow! Have to try and get there. I did notice that the lead rider makes the same mistakes I make...riding the mtb like a road bike. I have to consciously keep practicing leaning the bike and not the body (unless in a berm) through the corners. I was on the road for 17 years before coming to mtb'ing about 4-5 season ago, but still have bad habits. 😆
He rode it fairly well, in the sweeping turns though. You can get away with leaning with the bike in sweeping corners. But I have been caught out by the tighter turns when not leaning the bike and trying to keep my body over the center of the bike. Great vid though! 👍
I think we all struggle with that one at times Geo, great eye. Yeah, each instance requires slightly different techniques depending on the situation. Love this comment and thanks for watching.

Idk if you ride in Maryland but the have a newish trail near Annapolis. Bacon ridge and waterworks. They connect and have over 30 miles of trails.
Right on Kyle, I appreciate the heads up. I been to Maryland a few times but I usually just focus on the trails around the Watershed.
@@TrailSage yeah it’s more south of Fredrick. Like around 20 mins from
Patapsco. Has a mini bike park . Not rocky like the shed more of flow single track
@@kylemcnab927Ok good to know. I actually prefer the rocky tech stuff. Thanks Kyle.
