I’ve told you many times how much I admire your knowledge. I’m 67 and slowly losing mine. My mother passed when she was 72, her memory was phenomenal. I was sitting next to her, a week before she passed. I showed her. A picture of her classmates 1929, she was 5 . She told me the names of all, first and last and where they lived,
That's amazing! I'm finding doing these videos to be very helpful, in fact this whole business is a good brain tease. Alzheimer's runs in my family so I'm glad I have something to do that focuses me as I age
The porch glider! My brother & I used to play on those when my grandparents visited with their friends (and we tagged along) in North Carolina. So fun to see one again.
Thank you! I want people to share the joy of these things, most people are focused on prices and what they're making but to me if there isn't there love and understanding then there's no reason to make the deal
My first apartment used to be a dentist's office. The kitchen had many small drawers, not ideal for a kitchen. It also never lost that dental office smell. I was only there for a year, though.
OMG, the pedestals, vases, the mantle clock set, the cider jug!!! Cider jug is one of the things I really want to have since we don't have it here, along with fairy light/lamp, american pyrex (we have the english version), lamps with harps with fennials, Royal Haeger or anything american made. We have all the asian and european stuff but I really want some american. I wanna ask you if you have email? I have a black panther lamp (could be mgm) with the metal shade (I don't remember what you call it) but the shade is in ruff shape and I wanted to ask you the best way to fix it. I could send you pictures by email.
Hello! I'm so glad you found my videos. I show lots of things in them that are other people's to sell, but I do sell as well. Please send your pictures to me at theantiquenomad@gmail.com, I'm about to try to fix a shade myself so I can look at yours and see. I figured you get some wonderful things in Scandinavia, but we'd be happy to supply you with fun American things too! Hope to see you again for more fun, please like and subscribe
Hello George....I come from people who were amongst the original settlers in northern Montana. My great grandmother and some of her kids lived in a tent the first winters very close to Canada. I have inherited silverware from them, but it isn’t silver. I am getting a bit older, my kids don’t have any interest in OLD stuff so I am thinking of selling some of it. Should I? I would rather these things go to someone who will would appreciate their possible value or history!
Hello! That's a great story, Montana was a real boom/bust situation at first. They must've been strong people! I suggest that you use the pieces at family functions and see if anyone notices, you might be surprised that if they come out of the drawer that people might get it. If they aren't real silver, they likely have relatively low value, although some patterns of silver plate still can sell and individual pieces from the Victorian era may have value.
Hi Christine! I’d love to do another book but the way people get intonation is so different than it was when I wrote it 15 years ago. I would likely do e books or something that can be ordered online in various formats. I’ve thought of a few subjects but need someone with a large collection for photos. Any thoughts of what you’d like to see that hasn’t been covered?
How do you keep track of everything for taxes do you write down every purchase I was in an antique store recently and they actually had a UPC code scanner thought that was pretty cool
Joyce Anderson I’m very old fashioned about it, I use an inventory code that tells me what I need to know and keep every tag on sold items to do my books. I do this for a living so record keeping is key, especially since I also sell for 65 consignor clients as well!

Congratulations, finally monetized, saw a few commercials. You are now officially a You Tube, “Starving Artist”.
Indeed! I thank you so much for helping make that happen, it wasn't my main motivation for doing this but it all helps keep up this travel

Hi Yvon, glad you enjoyed it, there was a lot of fun stuff at that show!

Another good one for the books
Speaking of books, any plans for writing and researching another one?

George: Do you know anything about the plate with the rabbits to the left of the screen at 5:56 & 6:18? So pretty.
Someone else noticed and asked that as well! It was Bavarian transferware from about 1820, I don't recall a maker name. It was a very sweet scene
@@TheAntiqueNomad Yes, that was me. That is one item I would've had to have taken home with me 😉

Sold tags makes sense !! Lol 👍
You didn't get the murano glass or the black panther lamp???
I bought another black panther and a different Murano piece at the show this time 😁
Who wants some hundred year old bed that has worn the right way?
It's not for everyone but some people like time worn furniture
