O encaixe do Eloy no Slipknot é tão perfeito quanto o de Bruce no Iron Maiden em 1981. Ele tem o groove tribal brasileiro que o Slipknot precisa.

Now imagine us brazilians feeling everything you described plus PRIDE. We've seen this boy grow up as a prodigy kid in television playing all genres, achieving as much as being Sepultura's drummer practically as a teenager and now this. I feel like a proud parent even being younger than him lol

honestly man the difference is immense. jay was a perfect plug n play replacement to joey. eloy is an actual machine, which is why we love him. unfortunately, i feel that eloy is too clean a drummer for a band like slipknot. the energy comes from swinging tempos, sloppy fills, and machine gun blastbeats. eloy is a technical, masterful click track drummer, and that’s not a diss. eloy is built to drum in metal bands, but he’s so precise that he takes away from the chaos that is slipknot. their live show, for the first time ever, feels tame. he civilized a savage band. some will like it, and some will hate it.
Honestly he did slack it on the rolls and fills. But it’s his first show with the band can’t say Jay didn’t fuck up at all on his first gig. Overall the whole setlist he killed it. It was so much fun being there for it

After that, nothing was as exciting as seeing Eloy in slipknot, I saw little Eloy on television playing on a mini drum kit, he went to several television programs, and always followed his dream, and As if we were Eloy's father, there's no way to express this feeling of enormous happiness for Eloy!

Eloy has been killing it for YEARS and it is so right to see him in SK... freaking love it. He does Joey's vision and parts justice like, imo, no other drummer could. Sure there are some who could play the parts... but Eloy FEELS the parts. It's like a match made in Hell. \m/

Seen eloy live with sepultura and he’s murderous, you have to see him live to believe it. The most unbelievable inhuman power with the most incredible technique. Hands down the best drummer on the planet. Roll on Eloys first drum can shredding it.

Dudes, gotta say, I've been into some seriously heavy bands for ages, including Slipknot themselves, one of my all-time favorites since their first album. I've racked up hundreds of hours at shows, rocking out to some killer bands, BUT what I saw last night had me freaking out and buzzing in a way I can't remember happening before. The sheer brutal force Eloy brings to that drum kit is something else. Some might think I'm exaggerating, but believe me (seriously!) Eloy's debut show as Slipknot's drummer is already legendary! And you know what's even cooler and badass? This new chapter for the band is just getting started. Onward, Slipknot! Onward, Eloy Casagrande!

Im Hoping we can get some Drum Cams like we did with Jay or atleast some clips with audio from the Drum Mics, i was watching another posted on yt from one of the guys who was there & the audio was disappointing, this is a lot better from well a more central location from the stage.

I think jay had new blood. And it served the band well. That being said .. you’re right about the tempo and the groove. Eloy is a heavy hitter with great groove and sits in the pocket. He’s insanely powerful. I think slipknot ultimately made the right choice.

Sepultura is awesome playing live with Greyson replacing Eloy, too.
What I notice about eloy during the few songs they did here is that he stays in pocket and plays at the album speed..jay would get excited and speed run song especially ppl=shit, disasterpiece, wait n bleesd and surfacing which is awesome, but only if it doesn't throw off or bother the other guys..eloy keeps the same pace throughout which is probably really difficult in a band with slipknots energy. The drummers pacing effects how everyone else plays, for example I kno AX7 had a hard time keeping up when Mike portnoy was filling in after revs death..portnoy is the type of gut that plays songs different and at different speeds live to keep himself entertained lol..which is fine in dream theatre where petrucci,rudess, and myung are used to the consistent tempo changes (or inconsistent lol) and are aliens individuals who can adapt to portnoy on the fly, but if u are playing in someone else's band they're gonna be thrown off by his greatness lol..so in terms of slipknot and jay, even tho it seems like jay was kicked out for absolutely zero reason.we just don't know how it felt playing with him live and if Jay's style wore them down, if he wasn't coming up with enough variation in studio or how long it took him to lock his part in ect..all we are hearing is the finished product and live shows, we are not privy to what their writing/studio sessions or rehearsals look like..I personally loved jay and as a person who usually hates lineup changes particularly the drummer (because it fundamentally changes the foundation of the band). Jay was one of the few I was on board with almost immediately which is rare for me...even tho I kno eloy is a more experienced technically superior drummer than jay on paper, I need a lil more time and need to sew more of him to fully get on board. I'm gonna use portnoy and dream theatre again in another example, mangini is technically a far more superior player in terms of technical ability and keeping time ect than portnoy. However I HATED when he took over portnoys throne!! It changed EVERYTHING about their live performances and band in general.. I feel like mangini is TOO perfect and was not much different from using a pre programmed drum machine during live shows! It took away all the raw spontaneity that u expect from a live DT show and his perfection was the reason why!! So perfect never garentees a good fit in a band.. the chemistry between bandmates is what creates a good fit.. with that said I haven't see n heard enough eloy+slipknot to make up my mind on how I feel just yet.
Thank you for your comment man, I totally get you! Maybe one day the world will get the full story of what happened. Maybe they asked Jay to change or fix his tempos or play to a click? but he didn't want to? maybe they didn't even give him a chance? I definitely felt like the tempos live were the main reason they let him go. It would absolutely suck if he wasn't given a chance to fix it though, yet at the same time, things are never so black and white.
What DT did with Mangini and Portnoy was so classy, that I wish the situation with Jay and Slipknot was the same.

All these comments about Slipknot being saved now with Eloy. How quickly y’all forget the talent of Jay. He is a monster on the kit and actually head-banged like Joey.
Jay is talented... but Eloy is something else.
I think it's a 'hindsight is 20/20' thing. Jay did an incredible job, he emulated Joey well, he brought that vibe back to the best of his abilities and he saved the band, but I don't think any of us hardcore fans were truly aware of just how brutal they could sound with someone like Eloy and now that its a reality, it's like... holy shit this is fantastic!
(There's nothing that can take away Jay's contributions and the huge success he brought to Slipknot.)
