Great unboxing. Land of the Jawas is among my top four favorite playsets. Kim Simmons of Kenner toy photography fame, sent me a one-of-a-kind display arena with unique backdrops. My original display arena is still in my possession with the box. It came out in 1982 advertised on 45 backs. The silver catalog/booklet it came with was made in 1982, the last wave of ESB toys before ROTJ's release.

Land of the Jawas is an iconic SW playset - glad you were able to finally add this to your collection Joey.
The box does look clean & very square. I can see why you decided to pick it up, despite the shaved POP. It will display very well for sure. Gary did an outstanding job packing this one up. Bravo! I wish all shippers would handle these items in this fashion.
I made a classic rookie mistake when I picked up mine, piecing it together over multiple purchases. I made an auction purchase because the box was so nice, but it was missing a couple pegs & one of the smaller cardboard bits, & the base had a peg half broken off. Needless to say, I'm happy with everything after I got all the needed pieces, but likely over paid by $100+ in the end to do so. Oh well.
Love the Display Arena mailaway too. Even better that you got it with the original shipper too! That's something on my list as well, but down the road a bit I think. Congrats!!
Overall, I think you got a good deal on the pair for what you paid. 😎

Sweet Playset. I never had any of these as a kid, so never added them to my collecting list. It’s great to see them though.
I never minded getting kits with the POP cut out, was OK to have it missing given the price break it would give. Once in an acrylic case and on a shelf it’s really not a detractor.

I never wanted play sets like this when I was a kid because it was a small plastic base and cardboard. Surprisingly though the play set I wanted the most was the Palitoy Death Star. Even though it was almost entirely cardboard, it had so much playability. Truthfully, if I'd had the money for a play set, I'd have bought the Palitoy Action Force base, another cardboard gem that was very similar to the Death Star set. Cool pick up though!

Still have mine from childhood in mint condition with box and instructions too - I took great care of all my SW toys I was lucky to get 1978-83 - I’ll be curious to see how good a shape yours is in and price you paid 👍

As a 1st-Generation Star Wars Fan (saw it in the theaters in 1977, aged 3), this is all VERY COOL. I'm not sure, but, I think my Sister and I might've had this playset. I had flashbacks, when I saw the box. Love the pictures. MTFBWY...

@@thepadawancollectorofficial Well, I know, for a fact, that we had the Death Star trash compactor and detention area set, around 1981. I still have the Xmas pictures from 1981, when I received The Falcon as a gift. In 1979, my Dad bought the model of Darth Vader's Advanced TIE, constructed and painted the whole thing in an afternoon, and hung it in my room. We also got the Star Wars: Attack The Death Star board game...loved the look of it...SUCKED at playing the game...still don't understand the rules of it.
That was my first Star Wars playset. The only thing I have of that is the bottom sand piece-built to last forever! I’m looking for some good colored pics of the cardboard parts so I can remake that sandcrawler portion the way I did with the Hoth playset.

Well it’s very understandable now ,you just admitted you’ve never handled them before that’s very clear now. Lol 😂 , I’ve seen played handheld almost every part of the vintage line since the 70’s nearly knowing by just looking at a piece can tell u exactly what vehicle,ship and play set just by seeing it. That’s why eBay is for those like me who know not JAFO’s 😂
