Took my 2011 cruze for an oil change, they didnt fill my coolant so my engines been ovrheating, check my coolant, basically empty so im real appreciative of this video boss!
Chad I cannot thank you enough for ALL your videos. Because of you, I learned the correct products to buy. I Added..windshield seasonal fluid (bugs), brake fluid, transmission fluid (hard to find opening), oil, gas treatment and coolant. Without you, I would never have tried these on my own and wind up paying a garage way way too much money to do so. You have actually made me impress my friends on how I did it all. And my son too! Thank you so very much. Anne Cannon Tolento, NY
Thank you so much! My brother was the mechanic in our family and he has now passed on! Worry about making a wrong move on my car and I come to TH-cam for guidance!
Thank you for this tutorial! I'm doing my best to teach my daughter how to maintain and learn all about her car. This is a learning moment for both of us!
Hey, I just wanted to say THANK YOU to you for this excellent video. I'm no car expert, and It is getting cold now, here in Bucks County PA and my 2012 Cruze had no heat until about 10 miles into any trip. I followed your instructions and had heat within 2 minutes, saving me a costly trip to my auto repair guy. Much appreciated! Now I know to regularly check the coolant, like I do with the oil. I have owned mostly new cars, so this was never an issue, but the Cruze is 10 years old now. Thanks again.
General rule. For vehicles has overflow reservoir. You need to bleed the system after filling it if your car is almost out if coolant, otherwise air will trap in the system and the car will overheat for not circulating well. It’s located on the right top side of the radiator.
Your supposed to bleed it take plug out left side of ratorator then pour anti freeze in and watch at the hole when it starts coming out make sure air out put plug back in then top off fill line cap res then run car heat on full then you done good job
Wow, thanks. Why is this the first time I have ever heard that interior heat is directly related to radiator coolant levels? Will definitely see what else you've got. Thanks!
I have a question. My Chevy Cruze 14 is missing coolant. I recently put some in and the next day the reservoir looks almost empty. There’s no leak at the bottom and it has a new engine. What could be the problem?
I purchased my vehicle about 2 months ago and it had clear liquid in the reservoir. Went I went to get the coolant from the auto parts store, they gave me the one you mentioned. The liquid that was in the reservoir was almost gone so I went ahead and added the new one I bought. Will I have any issues for having mixed the coolants? Please advise 😅
Thanks brotha I had replaced my tempature censor which spilled out my coolant. Wasn't sure where the coolant went so I watched your video and thank you for helping me out I subscribed 👍🏼
Omg thank you for this video I was having the same issue like it over heating but the heat will Only come out when I’m driving I checked the coolant just now and it’s low 🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️ I will be refilling it in the morning thank you so much
There's a plastic plug on the driver side radiator top it's a burp plug ... Read your owners manual.. there's air traped in coolant line loosen dont take all the way out should hear air burp 3 time with thermostat open 206.6
I love this video!! You explain things with the assumption that we are all stupid (Like me) when it comes to cars. You have a new fan! subscribing now!
it is supposed to be, DexCool, but regular antifreeze will work as well even tho its not reccommended. But i hate how GM started doing the dexcool crap
You forgot to tell people you need to release trapped air using the bleeder valve on the other side of the car. You will over heat everytime if there is air in the system.
it's nice how simple this was -- my car was making no heat unless I was going highway speeds and the fans won't switch to defrost no matter what.... added some coolant and BAM -- car makes heat again and the defrost still doesn't work LOL 1 of 2 problems resolved

very helpful. it's overheating. turning-off the ac but who knew where the coolant goes> amazing. got it at 45,000. get engine repair under warantee. Hot. Pushing it.
How come you don't take out the coolant valve cap before putting the coolant in the reservoir? That's how you're actually supposed to do it. Remove Coolant Valve cap > Add coolant to reservoir > Wait for coolant to come through the coolant valve hole > Re-insert the valve cap. You literally missed 3/4 of the steps needed to do this properly.
Thanks my friend, just bought my son’s Cruze from him for my work car and your channel is definitely on my saved and subscribed list.

Dude same thing is happening to me
Yeah I had to pull over damn car said engine overheating while idle

@@nickzielruiz6976just happened to me 30 mins ago
Same, also where can I put the stuff that supposed to fix leaks in at?

smart my friend.

I’m glad I came across your video about coolant. It’s easy, direct to the point, no nonsense talking. Thank you!
Glad to help! :) thank you for watching!!

Thank you so much for empowering us to take care of our car without going broke.
i know this is probably common knowledge for most, but for me it was not. this helped a lot. thank you
General rule. For vehicles has overflow reservoir. You need to bleed the system after filling it if your car is almost out if coolant, otherwise air will trap in the system and the car will overheat for not circulating well.
It’s located on the right top side of the radiator.
This was super simple and straight to the point. Thank you!
Your supposed to bleed it take plug out left side of ratorator then pour anti freeze in and watch at the hole when it starts coming out make sure air out put plug back in then top off fill line cap res then run car heat on full then you done good job
You saved me today!!!! Thank you! your video was helpful and I was able to put coolant in by myself today!😊
Wow, thanks. Why is this the first time I have ever heard that interior heat is directly related to radiator coolant levels? Will definitely see what else you've got. Thanks!
How much coolant should be in the reservoir when you fill it?
There is a line inside
How far up the reservoir do you fill it up when it’s cold just guesstimate half , 3/4 what? Mine so dirty I can’t see any fill line anyway.
What if open reservoir and what LITTLE fluid in there is reddish brown?
I have a question. My Chevy Cruze 14 is missing coolant. I recently put some in and the next day the reservoir looks almost empty. There’s no leak at the bottom and it has a new engine. What could be the problem?
May be a leak in the hoses
what if you have a little bit of coolant in it can i add new coolant
Yes
What line do I fill it up to,first or 2nd

Aren’t you supposed to crack the bleeder valve on the passenger side of the rad when you put more coolant in??
Thanks Chad. This really helped.
Now did you have to add distilled water to the coolet before adding it to the car ?
yes if its not 50/50
So does that mean I have a leak if mine was empty?
You need to show were to check the coolant level......the full line
If your car doesn’t have coolant will it show A/C off due to high engine temperature on the dashboard?
Thanks brotha I had replaced my tempature censor which spilled out my coolant. Wasn't sure where the coolant went so I watched your video and thank you for helping me out I subscribed 👍🏼

Same with me
I just got a Chevy Cruze 2 months ago. So this is the coolant recommend tht works best for this type of car? 1:44
There's a plastic plug on the driver side radiator top it's a burp plug ... Read your owners manual.. there's air traped in coolant line loosen dont take all the way out should hear air burp 3 time with thermostat open 206.6
Tou can check the valve just under the intake tube to see if its leaking...........its a phillips head screw plastic.....
Need more videos that get straight to point like this I looked something up a answer pops right up that’s how it should it be thank you.
Which line is the full cold? Can’t see the print on the resivoir.
I can't either
Chad did you dilute the coolant with water before pouring into your car or did you pour straight coolant concentrate with no water added afterwards?
It’s 50/50 doesn’t need any water
@@evansdarien5125its not 50/50 he clearly said he didnt buy 50/50. So yes OP, you mix it first
why did you not delute the anyi-freeze?
Will your engine act up if you don't use dexcool
i stopped usin dexcool on my chevy. Shit gums up the whole works
I love this video!! You explain things with the assumption that we are all stupid (Like me) when it comes to cars. You have a new fan! subscribing now!
other than coolant being poisonous, is there something stopping me from boiling the stuff?
My coolant keeps going down everytime i poor it does it mean its a leak?
Does it have to be the GM vehicle coolant? May i use All Vehicles?
it is supposed to be, DexCool, but regular antifreeze will work as well even tho its not reccommended. But i hate how GM started doing the dexcool crap
You didn't mix water with your coolant??? Just pour it straight in????
Would my engine light come on if it needs coolent
You forgot to tell people you need to release trapped air using the bleeder valve on the other side of the car. You will over heat everytime if there is air in the system.
This is same problem I have hope it works!
Why was it that low on coolent to begin e with?
I have a Chevy Cruz lt I use cooler for all car that’s fine right?
It could be ok, I have done it before on other vehicles. If you want to go GM fluids, then go Dex-cool
it's nice how simple this was -- my car was making no heat unless I was going highway speeds and the fans won't switch to defrost no matter what.... added some coolant and BAM -- car makes heat again and the defrost still doesn't work LOL 1 of 2 problems resolved

Thank you I just watched your video and I think I can go out and add some coolant to my car now it was doing a little bit of a warning heat.
Hi Chad, thank for the video. Just wondering how often we need to top the coolant up in the Chevy trax. How much coolant loss is normal?
This was the first time I added coolant and we have owned the Trax for about 5 years now.
A great help ...ty
Did I miss something, you used concentate, poured it into overflow reservoir, what about 50/50 mix with distilled water.added to the concentrate. ?
Car sounds ruff 😂
Thanks man for saving my day 😅

Your a real Chad bro
Thank you!!
Timing belt may be off Brodie
Nice fill!
Thank you GOAT
Thanks.
Hey, thanks
Thanks mam
Where is radiator
In the trunk.
Thank you! The service agent at my dealership suggested I have my “husband” check my coolant level. 😊😊
Not helpful at all .. Where is the line and how high do you fill to ? 😢
When 50/50 is $12 and full strength is $24 how are you paying for free water. Better tip. DO NOT USE TAP WATER
Usually full strength doesn't cost twice as much. Usually it costs about 50% more.
Oh my God get to point
It's WAY better than most videos on the subject and there's even detailed time stamps if you want skip around. Stop being a whiny little bitch.
