    This is really clever! I've always had a hard time entering the audio space because timeline interfaces always imply some sort of expectation of a linear piece of audio with a begining and end. This feels like a playground. Awesome work!

    I think what's incredible about this is how you can modulate absolutely anything. You can modulate stuff in the settings, too. I used an LFO to modulate the background colors in order for a more animated background.

    • @Sparkette
      @Sparkette 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Haha, I didn't realize until now that the settings dialog was just another module. You can even modulate which settings tab is currently showing.

    I admit I'm lost. Is this a synth that you can actually play, not only produce non-harmonic beeps, or a beefed up generator of sounds effects to insert judiciously e.g. into a video soundtrack? If the former, can it be used as a VSTn plugin, or only standalone? Can it be MIDI-controlled, or needs an ADC 0-1V hardware to control? For the life of me, I couldn't figure out from the documentation _what_ it is, not _how_ to use it... I'd appreciate any help!

    Ryan, is it possible to run control signals and/or audio through a hardware interface like the Expert Sleepers ES9?

    • @Slabshaft
      @Slabshaft 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Answered my own question. The way to do it is to set the device type to ASIO, then select Expert Sleepers USB Audio for the output device. For CV outputs connect purple control signal to these modules: "dc offset" > "output" or "dc offset" > "gain" > "output". For audio input from ES9 just use the "input" module with the correct channel(s) selected. But for CV input, use "input" > "audio to cv". It would be awesome if these were consolidated for this use case, but I'll just use the "prefab" function for now.

  • @wwlittlejOfficial
    @wwlittlejOfficial 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    So I thought I would give this a go... Yeah, no. Right off the bat after installing I selected my audio interface, I saved and closed. Reopened to the settings page and was stuck in limbo. Can't click on anything, just stuck. All I can do is open and close. I figured out what I did wrong, which was not changing the preset interface buffer size, default is 0, which is blatantly stupid. No interface has 0 as a buffer setting, most systems kick back ugly noise at 32. I would imagine a proper default would be 512, which like 99% of other audio software comes preset as. Still, my fault, I didn't check. But now, it's stuck, I've uninstalled it, reinstalled and it just opens to the same settings page with no way to navigate. Clicking any of the boxes does nothing.
    EDIT: Ok, so this just led me thru a rabbit hole. A fewr issues: Apparently I cannot select ASIO audio (MOTU M4), it will only allow me to use windows audio @144ms buffer size. If I choose ASIO, I only get a 64 ms buffer size option (or 0 as the default) and then it's lock-up city no matter what. I restart and I can't do anything. Erasing the Userprefs files allows me to reset settings. Also, a red flag is uninstalling LEAVES the Bespoke files in User/documents (Windows) directory, maybe a few Mbs, but still useless clutter that should be deleted when u uninstall Bespoke.
    I'm not here to shit on Bespoke, it seems pretty awesome, but I had some frustrating issues and I still can't play with the software.

      @awwbees  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I certainly never called it a revolution, and I don't view it as such! innovation happens iteratively, and this is my contribution to the conversation.
