Great video!! I had a good time with the first part of the tutorial and was able to produce the same results. I followed step by step on using Cardinal as a sequencer but I'm using Ableton as a DAW. I set up vital on another midi channel and linked it's input to the Cardinal out channel. I cannot hear the sequencer producing any output to vital, although I set it up as I always do, transport running, in outs correct
. Tried 5x to rewatch and compare to what you did in Bitwig. I'm confused. LOL. And fascinated.

Hey, Cameron. I've been subbed to this channel for 2 years now, and I rarely comment, but I just wanted to tell you how much I appreciate you. You don't do the same stuff as other channels. And that's the part that has kept me watching your stuff more than the others that I started with when I was first learning. Even your videos about getting over writers block and your philosophical, and personal stuff is unique, and lets me know that a real human being that honestly cares about others is right here. I appreciate seeing you give Cardinal the love it deserves. It's usually a mediocre choice for "basic" setups like using it as a typical synth or filter, but it really shines when you need that extra, personalized touch that your other plugins can't give you; one of my favorite uses is building effects that react to MIDI input.
Also, it's beautiful for just messing around and experimenting, you can learn lots of new ways to make noise with it, and even create your own synthesis method if you feel like it.

For Logic users, a workaround is to use Blue Cat Patch Work. Pick your instrument (in this case Pigments) and load patchwork as a MIDI FX on that same track and then within patch work, load in the cardinal component or vst. Then it works just the same way as what Cameron is doing here. Load in the synth version of the plugin, not the FX. I didn't try the FX, but I know that the synth works.

Late to the party here (as is usual for me). Just got into Cardinal as I was never that interested in the stand alone version of VCV. This was an incredible video, even by your enviable standards. Thanks so much for making this all understandable and fun.

Great vid - esp the Pigments mash up. Man I'll have to watch it again to see how that's done. Perhaps pretty please you could do a similar vid but for making beats - even euclidean beats with Cardinal. My ind is still blown - only discovered Cardinal today lol

Good vid man and kudos for giving Omri Cohen a shout out! I’ve learned everything I know about modular from his channel. These days I’m able to freely explore VCV and come up with some pretty decent stuff thanks to his incredible array of tutorials. I’d recommend anyone getting into this shit subs to his channel. Cheers dude 👍
