Hi, great video btw! Just want to ask, did you install this all by yourself? Just plug-and-play? Any wires need to cut? Hope you could reply soon. Thanks in advance 🙏🏻
Correct. Taking out old headunit is very easy compared to other cars, just pop out the top cover with spudger.. then will have four screws securing the old headunit. no wires are cut during installation. Just use pnp cable adapter you can buy online. Also this one don't need to install extra things like GPS antenna and mount on dashboard.. so it's very easy
Hey, thumbs up to you for making a great review. However I do have some concerns. Does the radio work when AA/CP is connected? Sometimes I would prefer listening to radio while having navigation on android auto. Heard that some Linux player cant do it. Could you help confirm? Thanks in advance!
10 months has passed, do you have issue servicing your car? I checked with SA, it won't void warranty. I'm not sure if is the same story from service center
I reached 20k km and did my service in Seremban (jalan Rasah) Perodua SC, so far they didn't even mention about the headunit and the service carried on with no issues
Hi, I just got my Ativa. I'm wondering that is everything plug and play including stock reverse camera? Will the warranty void? I'm planning DIY 😅 but I can't find more details from the internet except yours. BTW, great video 👏
Yes everything is plug and play, make sure to buy the wiring harness with reverse camera+ steering control. as for the warranty I have no issues servicing my car. As long as you don’t mention it, the servicemen won’t probably notice. Worst case scenario, just install back the old headunit when servicing
For Ativa, casing on market only has 10 inch... so get 10 inch Also, the sellers were on vacation due to long CNY holidays from them in China, as i'm writing this reply today, they should be back on business now
Good enough for calling. Google assistant so far can detect my commands.. However the clarity might be reduced at high aircond fan speeds.. so have to reduce fan speed to talk
I am new to Linux player. Have been using Android player but looking for a change. What is the difference between the two? Can I use navigation map like Google map on Linux or how to use navigation map if it is not allowed to use any Google apps
So basically Linux is the OS of the player I'm having there. Basically it's a very lightweight operating system that it doesn't actually have apps installed on it To use Google maps or Waze you connected your phone to the headunit via Bluetooth and it will facilitate carplay (for iPhone) or android auto (for Android phone) user interface for easy usage while driving. Most upscale brand like Toyota, Honda, Mercedes, Hyundai etc. Use carplay/android auto to have navigation and music from phone because it is very user friendly while driving..
If you use iphone or any Android phone from 2020 and above you can use Google maps or Waze on this headunits wirelessly... Also this will be faster than normal android headunit on market as this uses your phone CPU to process map display and music..
It'll come with female usb cables from the box. Usually most people will put it in glove box But there's also adapters you can use original usb ports on ativa. Although it's not really recommended to use it for charging, only to program custom wallpaper or music/video on usb drive
Hi. I got one as well. Wireless Android Auto works like magic. But I can't find the way to mirror link by wired and wireless. What apps should i get to mirror link?
Hi Zainul, yes, the hands free call button works under one caveat. this headunit needs two separate answer/end buttons on the steering, and the ativa only has one. Personally, I program it to end call, you may use the Mode (or voice control) button as an alternative button to the answer, if you want one both answer/reject.
hello how did you set the bar with the time, apps and what not for the carplay to the right side of the screen? i have the same linux player but mine is on the left side
The casing is also available. There’s thin and thick model, thin looks nicer and sleeker then thick but headunit may not be compatible due to short lcd cable wiring.
Hi, this one cannot. It's fixed postiion like the one shown on the video. But if you plan to use original ativa h/av camera it should be accurate enough
Hi, I bought the unit d and it work great as I’m need simple features compare to the android based player. U have idea what is the factory code ? And any tips how to set up CVIN ( video in )? Wana try install front camera. Btw, mine reverse cam works like charm. Tq
Factory code is supposedly 3368 but I heard new batches of the units have the code wrong.. unfortunately I don't know much about it If you want to install front camera, make sure you connect to CVBS IN cable.. for power the simplest way is to tap into ACC wire of your cable harness Also this headunit don't have auto turn on front view. Have to manually turn on via mode button or change on screen
It is indeed only 600p like cheap low end android players, but since carplay/android auto UI is designed with large buttons it doesn't look too bad (at least for me)
1. Faster and more responsive than android radio in the same price range (around RM300-400) 2. Meant for those Android Auto/CarPlay users like high-end brand car. (While android player can have carplay dongle, from my experience it can be very buggy)
Did you buy high spec wiring harness from Shopee? If so, there will be one RCA cable from the cable.. that one will go to the yellow cable of the headunit It's the one with a small connector and two short wire, not the multiple one with red and white..
1. Nope, time and date won’t reset itself. Ativa power delivery is good that it still Powers the “memory” power line to the Radio Even Engine off. 2. Honestly some Static will show up, even on Metropolitan KL Ares Like KLCC.. I recommended to add booster. Personally I rarely use fm Radio, which is why I haven’t add one
