Nice! I have actually been learning how to set up avatars in Unity and Blender lately since my wife and I have really gotten into VRChat last month. Relatively soon I plan to learn bone structures in Blender so I can bring some 3D models into VRChat that have never been seen in it before. I also hope to eventually learn how to construct worlds as well. Anyway, thanks for making this video! This has probably been one of my most favorite videos that you guys have made, and I can't wait to see more of your CGI in future videos! :D

NoTraceOfSense yeah, it's a real treat getting people in proper VR for the first time. It something that really needs to be experienced, a lot of people don't get it until they have tried it.
Another whoa moment is playing with people online, they are standing in your living room, as you are standing in theirs.
I have even been slammed into a wall when someone was dodging an arrow in Minecraft.
Rodbotic I remember my first "woah" moment was watching Casey Neistat's droneboarding video in VR.

1: a heptic suit
2: heptic gloves (or the valve index controles)
3: a tredmill so you can walk with your feet and not the controlers
4: leg trakers
5: a nosiles rift so you can smell in game smells
So that is the basic stuff youll need for full inversment

Why? I haven't even watched it
So basically we almost have everything for something along the lines of Ready Player One, we just need to put them together and for some of them to be smaller in size;
1. The facial recognition is already in phones so we just need to take it out and place it like in the movie
2. For movement I suggest Kat Walk Mini but as of now it's pretty expensive. I do believe $1500
3. The goggles... well your VR sets are here but they just need more time with it to make it see through like in the movie
4. For the gloves the HaptX is still being worked on but so close
5. And last but not least is the body suit which already exists (Called the teslasuit) which even lets you feel hot and cold.
We are almost there guys, I say give it 3 years or a bit more. And of course we need the game haha

It will most definetly happen and people will basically start to live in virtual realities, we can already see this today with the people who stay inside and play video games all day. Same thing except they will almost live in virtual reality, I'm expecting cheap to rent small boxes with like a bed, vr gear and some community cooking supplies.

Yhea well that is something that happens everywhere in every generation, it will always be something which will happen. But eventually we will put a stop to it and revert to previous stages, if you go according to history and how similar things have played out.
And this would create a whole new era for philosophy, would it be correct to basically transfer ourselves into the mind of a computer so we could live forever aslong as society keeps us running. Too much to go into here in a comment anyways.
Ya know I just thought of something. And to clarify I'm no technician nor have I had any form of training or study in their field of work. Only a guess and theory to try out if possible. Just to clarify as an ideo theory to see if someone would want to try that is it. Now, like how in the movie, wade used a moveable track gear cant remember the proper name, but couldn't someone also rig up a treadmill, work with it, add a different track to it and mess with the gears to give it a dual section of mobility. Forward and side? I know be lot of work but maybe possible, I'm not sure. And for the hand gears. Honestly most likely a stupid idea. But seeing how they are already working on different types of VR Gloves. Couldn't one look up the tech or better yet take out the parts from a controller, attach them to a glove, not just any glove one made from proper material that is either close to proper vr or something. Then take the wires and gears from controllers attach them to the gloves, have sensors on tips of fingers. Or work way to it to better use. And then again attach one self to the track with strap to keep in place. One for saving money on that and 2 for chance on glove set to be kinda like it. But again only a theory to try cause I'm not a technician, and can only give a idea out. Even though sounds crazy. But who knows. Maybe work maybe won't idk. Just something to throw out.
Ohhhh yeah! I can imagine sword fights in VR with 360 movements, actual feeling (damage, high fiving, unmentionable activities ;)) and VRchat.

Well you have the Infinadeck treadmill which launched in conjunction with the movie. Along with the full body TelsaSuit which is currently in development.
Headsets of course are already here. We just need some Wireless capabilities which are on their way.
Along with augmented reality and inside tracking which Samsung already has a headset for I think.
The Holo lens is incorporating a lot of the AR aspect of things. So really a lot of this is aleady here.
As far as the movie goes it was pretty lit. It has enough Easter eggs peppered throughout to consume multiple viewings just to find them all.
That was worth the price of admission alone. Steven Spielberg really was the perfect director for this project. :)

Trust me, the alternate reality camera shot doesn't capture how amazing vr space is. For anyone who wants to know what it's like, find a high end mall or somewhere with a Microsoft store and see if they have a vr demo. It's really only something you can experience for yourself

You could use special tape that restrains your fingers when touching something. I’ve seen demos of of gloves that work that way

Actually, now we kind of DO have all the technology in RPO. We have:
-The full-body haptic suit, called the 'Teslasuit' (google it)
-Haptic gloves (albeit bulkier than in the movie, but if electrodes were used like in the teslasuit, they could be slimmer)
-Obviously, we have VR
-Omni-Directional treadmills (the prop they used in the movie was an actual, functioning treadmill that has been actually made)
And that's pretty much all of the gear used in the movie. The rest of everything is just inconsistencies that aren't entirely possible, like Art3mis sitting against that post after the race, even though she would have nothing to lean on in real life. Oh, or how getting kicked in the game sends Wayde flying backwards in real life.
