- Dungeon Clawler First Look - if it exists, there's a roguelike version of it. The claw machine is a crazy thing to design a strategy game around, but these madmen actually went and did it. Makes for a fun time too!

Hey Tyler, I know that you said that you didn’t like the water, but your synergy with it was insane without you even realizing it. You had a perk that made it so that if you kill an enemy which has poison, that poison is applied to all other enemies. You also had constant water in the claw machine and the item poison bath bomb, which would turn the water into poison water, which would turn all the fluff in it into poison fluff, applying 3 POISON PER FLUFF YOU GRABBED. You would easily have been able to use it to apply like 70 poison to an enemy, only for that enemy to die and apply that poison to all the other enemies. The build would be called, *”The Black Death Build”*
With him also being focused on plastics, I would actually call it "The Microplastics" build
and he proceeded to never pick up the poison bathbomb the entire video

@@dom7899 he didn't notice because the boss almost immediately converted the water to the fire one before he noticed the fluff/water change
It was honestly so frustrating to see his refusal to pick up the poison bath bomb

It’s kind of a specialty of this channel, especially during the Peglin series, nice to see that editing trick back in full force. This channel is really high quality all around
@@justinquiring445 peglin allows the player to speed up the game. Maybe that's what you're talking about? Or were the editors speeding it up more?
Editors would speed up more (like 5x or 10x on insane long runs from multi orbs or something) but if he's talking it would keep playing his talking audio during the super fast speedup till he's done @@onecommunistboi

17:55 Way more than 5 damage per turn, every poison pickup is. It is 5 _extra_ damage per turn.
The first poison is worth 15 damage in 5 turns. The second poison is worth 35 damage in 5 turns. The third poison is worth 55 damage in 5 turns, and so on.
I think he meant that since the fight was almost over, poison isn't as valuable as it was at first
And in fact the poison he grabbed that turn only did 5 damage because the boss was dead the next turn before it could damage again
@@gadrill4285 in that case, yes, but at 26:48 he says the same thing again but is wrong because the boss is near full HP
5 damage per turn per shuriken is the ceiling if poison _didn't_ decay, which was what he approximated.
The "extra" was moot, as an action's worth being the difference between doing it and not doing it is a given in strategy games. The second poison isn't "worth" 35 damage over 5 turns, as not having it still leaves 10 damage over 4 turns from the first application. It was worth 25 damage, which is understood to be 25 more damage, or 25 additional damage, etc. in 5 turns.
For example, if you donate to someone 10 dollars, your contribution wasn't worth their entire savings, it was worth 10 dollars.

Had poison dealt constant 5 damage per turn, then 5 stacks of poison would be worth 5 damage per turn some time in the future.
But poison deals _as much damage, as there are stacks,_ then decays by one. Since at this point he only had the one Shuriken for poison, I am counting as the poison decays by one between applications.
5+4+3+2+1=15
4+3+2+1=10
9+8+7+6+5+4+3+2+1=45
45-10=35
8+7+6+5+4+3+2+1=36
13+12+11+10+9+8+7+6+5+4+3+2+1=91
91-36=55

I’m not a “soundtrack” kinda guy…. But wow this soundtrack is unreal. I absolutely love this games music. Very epic fight style music. I also love the upgrade styles. It’d be cool to see upgrades that affected the claws themselves as well as the things you can pickup… like maybe a boss relic gives you an extra claw with a downside.. or you get 1 claw less but it’s twice as big.. then there could be upgrades that make the grip strength of the claw stronger. Anything really.. it would be a super cool thing to get to upgrade in the game.
There are different characters to play with and each of them has different abilities either affecting the claws or the gameplay

That’s not the only bug in this game, the “Floor ?/5” text at the top of the map layout is misaligned as well, and there’s probably even more bugs!

It's really refreshing seeing a TH-camr who actually has the ability to read the screen in front of them play this, nearly every other channel I watch has been god awful at this game.

Rack and Slay just got an update with the new endless mode and I thought it would be nice to inform people.
On top of that there is a new enemy, a new item, and Tyler hasnt even played any of the challenges that have unique effects!

Honestly water seems pretty nice. If your weapons are mostly metals like you had I can see why it would be a bit annoying but if most of your good things are plastic or wood I think a water build would be pretty good
It also has good synergy with the bath bombs. I like using the poison one. (Bath bombs change the fluff into a damaging thing)

The golden knife was indeed there, it was in the middle, and only the edge was barely visible on top of the fluff. But I don't think the machine starts with all the items inside, cause in that exact round it didn't start with the sword.

The art style of this game is so fun!
The avoiding poison bathbomb is crazy, it's literally flaming fluff minus the recoil and with synergies with the other perks in the build
I once got so lucky at a certain claw machine that the manager came out and loosened the grip on it, the funny part was that the grip was already so loose that after he loosened it it couldn’t even hold anything in the machine
one of the biggest perks of filling with water is if your build floats it makes grabs easier as sometimes due to the compact nature of the items you can actually reach for your desired item and receive an empty claw
Slay the Spire with a mix of how Armello rolled their attack- interesting.
Honestly surprised that he hadn't already done a video on this yet. One of the rarer times where I've already been playing something he does. It's a fun game for suresies.

Hi Tyler, just a note about the reflect moth: If you wait for it to use its block-adding move, the mirror stacks go away :D I learned that while watching Blitz play the game.
Finally, you made a video on it. I’ve been asking you so much.
Two small things:
One, poison scales multiplicatively. 5 points of poison being added every turn is *FAR* better than 5 points of regular damage per turn. In fact, in only a few turns, it's better than 10-15 regular damage a turn. Since poison stacks, continually adding more poison essentially preserves previous turns' poison damage, meaning you deal the +5 damage PLUS the damage you did last turn from poison minus one.
Two: Water seems to mostly be a positive. Just because some items float, doesn't mean you can't grab things at the bottom like normal, the only downside is that floaty items might fill your claw first.
the water is a negative in this case though... most of his good items are stuck at the bottom while the shields and crap floated to the top
@@dom7899 But it really isn't a negative in this case either. All it does is space out the items a bit, actually making it easier to target certain items. The heavier items can still be grabbed. Sure, the heavy items will never be on top now, but it really doesn't affect that much other than perhaps the small sword, which benefits from being grabbed by itself, and the order the grabbed items will play out on average.

the best strat is to go hand of midas and magnet to get a few hundread gold and then deal insane amounts of damage with the golden dagger

This game is really fun to watch (and play, I think).
It has the potential to become a series almost as good as peglin... downsides: it has the potential to be a series VERY MUCH like peglin, with long videos to record with no guarantee for a run to turn into something new and interesting enough to warrant a video in the first place.
This game actually seems REALLY cool and REALLY deep. I'm gonna be keeping my eye on it for a long time.

How claw machines work is that the grip strength is controlled by how much money has been put into the machine since the last prize win. The more money people put into it, the easier it is to win a prize. The base grip strength and the rate at which the grip strength increases are both variables that can be tweaked by the machine's owner. Typically the more expensive the prizes, the more money has to be put in to even have a chance at winning. That's why candy claw machines usually always pay out with something. The money you put into them is usually close to, or more than the actual cost of the candy you win.
How does it know when something is picked up
@@Blueybeak Sensor in the prize chute. Same thing that also triggers lights and noises when you win on some machines.

I tried this game out after watching this video and I got an insane synergy with hand of midas converting all my fluff into coins, magnets to pull in weapons and coins, coin scaling weapons, max hp increased with more coins, shurikens for poison, poison flasks for insane poison scaling (3x poison on nearest enemy, with upgraded shurikens adding 10 poison, easily reach upwards of 250 poison)
this is actually such a good game

The most op build in the game is the gold build, you stack 3 golden daggers, 1 hand of midas, 1 magnet, savings account, and you're set, maybe a couple golden armours. everyhting is upgraded of course 1 shot everythung.

Tried the game mid watching the video. On my first run I achieved easy infinite with golden daggers (and appropriate synergies) that one shot everything eventually. Stopped at floor 36 since the difficulty doesn't scale faster than accumulation of money. Interesting game.

When something is stuck on the ledge, simply move your next claw to the side to push it off (no need to USE the claw, just move it to the side). It drops in and lets you use the item!
I know it is sparce in rerms of your kind of games but maybe VR Games, I would recommend Ironstrike, a fantasy themed VR Roguelike.
There is a faster speed option by the way.
