11:23 overhaul put his pops into a coma by using his quirk. Because he doesn’t have his arms anymore and can’t use his quirk, his pops remains in said coma (hence wanting eri to use her powers)
@@thedarklightskin Yep true, The Boss did not agree to his method as it defies the values of his clan as Yakuza, so with no choice... Overhaul put him in a coma so he can take over with no hindrances
@@kevinarellano2681 It wasn't so he could take over. Not entirely anyway. The Yakuza in general were pretty much fading because of heroes and Chisaki came up with a plan that the boss was against. He put his boss into a coma so he can go through with his plan to revive the Yakuza and then planned to reverse it when he was done to show his boss that he was right.
11:17 - Overhaul's boss in a *coma* for which Overhaul used his quirk to put him in, so he could do his business without disruption. That's why Overhaul feels guilt over pops because he can't get him out of coma he put him in.
This episode shows a *culmination* for pay off with Deku since the beginning, characterized with studying quirks and combining their use for effectiveness. Like recalling for sport festival calvary team battle in S2 with him as team captain. In S3 for camp arc with catching up to villains using his friend's quirks after his body was busted after Muscular fight, again in S3 with him using combined effort to rescue Bakugo from being kidnapped, and all those other training arcs working with classmates too. So that was the foundation for him then to now, in order to appreciate seeing him reach a new level for it.
Don't forget that scene where Ectoplasm is teaching class 1-A differential calculus, implying that Deku also used trigonometry to pinpoint Nagant's location. The kid is a great mix of brain+brawn
This is one of the many reasons I liked Deku's character and why I continue watching and reading MHA. The above comment was right, he's a combination of brain + brawl so there's less to no wasted moves and strikes from him, and we're seeing "his journey to become the number 1 hero" just as he said in his narrative in season 1 episode 1. It gives me goosebumps that I'm now seeing why he confidently said that in the very first episode of the anime when he doesn't even have a quirk that time. Might be because he will actually be the number 1 hero of all time if the plot wouldn't be ruined by some hero to villain gimmick that some hero anime did. As an example, All Might uses 100% OFA before and can go faster than a bullet, but here we saw Deku go faster than that bullet that looked like a rocket in his 45% OFA, ALL THE WHILE using multiple quirks. Just imagine him with 100% OFA + 100% of all the other quirks. Not impossible for him to master and utilise everything all at once and become the most op hero we know. * cross fingers * hooopiiiing
Gambit doesn't just store kinetic energy, he controls it which is what make him an omega level mutant. He can transfer kinetic energy from anywhere into any body part or items he wants which he does with his staff and cards whereas deku can only store the kinetic energy in the part of his body he is moving and can't manipulate and move it to other part as well as can't get the kinetic energy from an outside source and store it into items. Gambits version is a real problem as seen in the comics because literally any movement from anyone is producing kinetic energy so he can absorb it or use their own kinetic energy against them which he does quite a bit in the comic by using a person kinetic energy to freeze them in place and shit.
Obviously it’s not exactly like Gambit, it’s just the easiest way to explain the power to anyone. Xmen nerds and MHA nerds are something else jesus, especially when they’re one
So the commissioner was going to kill Lady Nagant for refusing the mission/quitting, right? Now, go back and re-watch the conversation Hawks has with the HPSC about spying with the league. Hawks was being 100% honest when he told Twice he just wanted to fly free.
I'm rocking with Fa Jin. Lady Nagant was a cool character. I never thought about the fact that there would be some heroes who take out villains in the shadows. Man I'm glad I didn't abandon My Hero in the slower seasons like a lot of folks did. This has been worth the build up
really?? in a world of super powered heroes you didn't there would be some sort government Black Ops squad or something that takes out villains/people deemed dangerous in the shadows and does dirty work to maintain peace
I'm not sure if Lady Nagant was no. 2 but Hawks said he was Lady Nagants successor her because he became the Saferty Commissions go to spy/assassin. Also iirc she exploded because AFO planted a bomb in her, dude stole Killer Queen Bites the Dust somehow.
I just find the way Fa jin works to be funny, imagine being in the middle of a fight and someone goes "Hold on let me do some squats and push ups" and then proceeds to destroy you
This was a very good episode and it really shows you what kind of hero Deku is. He had every right to just shut Overhaul down but he didn't. While he doesn't forgive how he mistreated and traumatized Eri, he was willing to put that aside if he apologized to her. And thats what Deku wants to do for the villains. He hasn't forgotten what the OFA users (even Gran Torino mentions it) told him about taking them if necessary but he wants to try and save them first if possible
it's amazing the develop, to think 3 seasons ago Midoriya almost pissed himself when All for One appeared in Kamino, and now he won't hesitate if finds him.
Yeah. People don't realize that all mights muscle form was what his current skinny body looked like. All might only got skinny after his injury. Before that he was as big as his muscle form
All Might's muscle form was literally just the way he looked until he got injured. Then he started getting weaker throughout the show. Now imagine if all the big guys in the show had a weak form. Endeavor, Gang Orca, Seelie, All for One, etc. Would be kinda interesting ngl
Pops is in a comatose state as he did that after he found out what he was doing and was planning to "revive" him after he got what he needed from Eri, but he was arrested leaving Pops "stranded".
Ok, so about Lady nagant blowing up. If im not wrong the explosion was due to a self destruction quirk. So Afo basically put 2 quirks in lady nagant she just didn't notice the second.
Sheera got a point. Overhaul could evolve his quirk somehow and just body someone and turn them into arms so he can use his quirk properly. They could definitely write some shit like that but i doubt they give af about overhauls character enough to reintroduce him as a serious threat.
The pops he's talking about is eri's granddad and he not dead he's just in the comma overhaul put him in still. Also the scary thing about fa jin is that the movements don't have to be rapid just regular or repeating aka walking lol which also means the man can be whooping your ass and then suddenly start hit a lot faster and harder and just keep upping it lol
It's not that simple. The area he was fighting in allowed him to do that, and it's definitely not as good as just being able to use 100% by itself. He has the potential to become broken from this point though.
The amazing fucking parallel between Nagant and Deku on this episode was crazy Both are/were heroes Nagant, who believes hero society is a sham, has *no hesitation killing someone*, like she said Deku (Like we saw on the 2nd ep of S1) is someone who has *no hesitation saving someone*, completely shattering her expectations and ideologies She, because of her own trauma, assumed Deku, a hero, was going to slow down and hesitate after Chisaki's life was put in danger That's why, in the original subtitles, when she's about to explode she says "You're the real..." He's a real Hero, something she didn't believe in
Note at the end of the preview for next episode instead of saying "Sarani Mukoi (Go beyond) Plus Ultra", Deku instead says "I will be alright" to showcase how he is trying to take care of everything himself and telling others not to worry about him and to stay away.
This fight….is everything I hoped it would be. It injected SO much hype and the details are better than ever. This was just fantastic. So let’s start with Lady Nagant’s backstory. Public safety commission hero can mean a lot of things. But they roughly are best defined as “government spy” or “government assassin.” And the wear of targeting those that caused any dissent against the government. It is just SUCH a fantastic portrayal of watching all the money and resources she has, skill with her job and more all fall away because this isn’t what she wanted. She’s called a “hero” so people admire her but the depths show it’s ALL hallow. This is not far at all from Stain’s will. “Heroes fueled by vanity and money can’t possibly be true heroes.” The hero system IS corrupt. There’s no avoiding it anymore. It is just so amazingly portrayed. She’s so worn out that even though they have “light” in their eyes, (with Deku’s getting weaker and weaker every episode.) she just views the position as a whole rotten. And her exhaustion with the system leads her to make a deal with the devil. And it’s when people are at their lowest that people make the deal. This fight was just spectacular. The atmosphere, the combating quirks, how they more or less danced around each other, and SO much more. I geek out SO hard seeing this fight fulfilling everything I prayed for in this arc. The animation was STELLAR. Now that I’ve gotten some gushing out of the way, I want to talk OFA. Surprise. The time has come to talk about the newest quirk Fa Jin. Storing kinetic energy for bigger hits. Someone once told me Fa Jin is used in real life like this. A standing long jump when swung correctly has the same force as a running long jump. A martial art. It definitely matches what we see in the episode at least. Faux 100%. Probably the thing I’ve found hardest to explain in OFA. Not because it doesn’t fit, but because it’s THAT weird. I’m SO happy they brought back the word faux because that’s DEFINITELY on purpose. Faux means 2 things. Imitation. But the one I notice far more is it means false. It’s not actually 100%. So what is this ability? Deku is using 405 of 900 in my theory. 45% of a stockpile 9x greater than season 1. Yet even though what we saw was BEYOND impressive, the mystery missing 60x booster is still absent. This isn’t OFA’s best. But it IS the best Deku can accomplish as of now. 900 of 900. HIS best. But I need to preface this. There is no way that this show would spend 6 FULL seasons showing us the importance of mastering 100% of the stockpile and just unlock a magic quirk that fills the gap. They would NOT do that. Much less call it “faux” if it’s meant to be treated as the same. We saw what Shigaraki does with Decay and AFO’s/All-Might’s city blasts. As INCREDIBLE as Deku is, we have yet to get to the point where we can safely say he’s reached it. So keep your eyes sharp. Claiming the prime has yet to occur. Speaking of which. All-Might. The man might not be the #1 hero anymore and he’s not the symbol of peace. But he DOES remain the 8th holder of OFA. Even with no access to the power within. He will STILL throw literally EVERYTHING away to protect Deku as his father and to relieve him of the burden he’s smashed into him. You can have grenades and….gigantic nails from the shoulders what the heck. But NONE of that will stop him. He’s STILL All-Might. And he’s IMMEDIATELY back in dad mode once he scares off the thugs. And then we have Overhaul. It’s disturbing to see him so completely burnt out and broken. And it’s unclear if he even truly remembers everything from his arc in season 4. (Not that I blame him. Deku kinda blew him sky high and exploded his everything…and THEN got his arms lopped off and his years of work stolen.) No one will follow a demon with no heart is what his pops told him. And he’s regained some semblance of it. Though I guess we can’t say his pops was completely correct with the ever growing list of those making the deal with the devil these days. And then we go into Deku’s eyes. Deku has been strained in ways many people can’t even imagine. It’s the scariest thing about being an empath. With an ability that lets us sense emotions in others as our own comes an equally strong “recoil” to the ability. Not unlike quirks but people in real life have this talent. Myself included. Each passing episode Deku’s eyes get darker and darker in this arc as he loses himself. As worried as I am about the kid physically, my concern is not even CLOSE to the concern of his emotional burden. And it FAR exceeds any mental or physical burden as he literally bounds through buildings using 6 quirks at once, and fights with an ASSASSIN. He’s always fighting the blowback of his real ability. And that strain is FAR more dangerous to him than even his exploding arm recoil. Because there’s nothing worse than dying of a broken heart. And this state, it puts him under a strain I equate to that. I’ll explain it in full next episode. But just know Deku is DEAD inside. He couldn’t even say “Plus Ultra” at the end of the preview. He says “I’m fine. Really.” He’s GONE.
@@rodgerrodger1958 I did this in 20 on saturday. My options for how I analyze are pretty limited so I chose doing it the day the sub episode comes out and copy pasting because it makes fun conversation
Never ever underestimate deku's ability to adapt, especially in a fight. He was seriously able to adapt in the middle with the pro hero sniper, Lady Nagant.
I was on lupa's side when it came to overhaul but not because he deserved sympathy but because it was hard to watch so my guy lupa has a big heart so we call that a W
Big heart's a bit vague, he's a feeler not a thinker is what it really is; it's why he can plead for Chisaki one second then eye roll his life in danger the next.
Studio bones, cooked and that scene right there, all for one did the "troll" move, but when midoriya clenched his fist, he's gonna try to end it, but in a way, that's like having a heavy burden, rely on your friends and people who will help you
I think I remember what happened to Overhaul's dad, (but correct me if im wrong) Chisaki had put him in a permanent comma or smt similar by using his quirk with his hands. And only him could reverse what he did, BUT he lost his hands and cant use the quirk anymore so his dad is locked in an actual perma comma. Eri would be the perfect solution for both problems.
Overhaul's boss is not dead, Overhaul himself put him in a coma using his quirk when his refused Overhaul's plan to use Eri's quirk to regain the Yakuza past glory
7:42 correct me if i'm wrong but isn't the Manchester smash supposed to be an axe kick instead of a Dynamic entry? That's how he used it against Overhaul
@@raec5426 yeah i know but the first time he used Manchester smash he was doing an axe kick. Basically lifting his foot up to his head and droping it on someone else head. That's not what he has done here. He performed Guy Dynamic entry.
@Billy Grayson Well look at the environment being different for the angle he is coming at. Vertical before now diagonal. The technique is different but still a kick, close enough. Lol
Overhaul's "Dad" is NOT dead. Overhaul used his quirk to put him in a coma as he did not agree with his plans. However due to him losing his quirk (His arms) He can no longer fix his dad so hes pretty sad.
Although I was hype to see Fa-Jin animated and the epic animation…I can’t help but still feel bad for Lady Nagant. She’s still good at heart but was just doing as the Public Safety Commission told her to do all for the bright future that even Nighteye also dreamed of. She didn’t deserve any of this.
Yeah she did After she broke out of prison she agreed to work for damn AFO Let's break this down real quick The public heroes commission did some dark shit and used Nagant as a weapon but their end goal was to keep the public safe AFO however just wants chaos and to become the ultimate demon lord that's why pre all might era was so bad So she'd take AFO side all in the sake of fucking transparency and risk the life of chisaki in the process Yeah no she deserved that Manchester smash to the face not the arm
I don't feel one bit sorry for her because she joined a group much worse than the corrupt hero agency she was working for. She went from a group that killed villains to a group that goes around killing innocent civilians. You tell me which is worse ? Yeah she was mistreated and forced to do thing she didn't want to but then joining a group way worse was her way of fixing the problem which is why I don't have an ounce of pity for her.
@@draxxprime7608 totally agree. Her hero agency treated her badly but atleast they weren't killing innocent people like the villain she join do on a regular basis. Deku should made sure that smash hit her in the face instead of the arm.

I'm pretty sure Chisaki's "pops" is still just in a coma from what Chisaki did to him. Chisaki originally said he would use his power to fix him once he was able to enact his plan, but then his plan failed and his arms got cut off so he can't use his power to fix him. So Chisaki just wants to go see his pops to look at him and hopefully find a way to bring him back, because all the terrible things he did was in hopes of "helping" his pops and the yakuza to thank him

I've got some juicy dark details that you may not have noticed if you're interested! See the man Nagant killed in her flashback? The one with webbed fingers and gills that's begging for his life? Now look at the kids who are so excited to meet Lady Nagant. Do any of them look familiar? Damn, that's dark. It's implied, but by looking closely at Nagant's backstory you can see an extra dose of angst on top of her manipulation by the Hero Commission. When she was a kid, her rifle arm was wrapped in bandages, as if to cover it up or stop it from activating. Perhaps there was an accident -- or multiple accidents. Or maybe people were just afraid of her like they were afraid of Shinso and Toga. Either way, she seems to have been told as a child to be ashamed of her quirk. Then the Hero Commission came in and told her she could be a hero with it. But in the end, all they wanted was to turn her into a killing machine. No wonder she's so disillusioned. Oh, and also: It looks like whatever self-destruct quirk AFO planted in her only exploded from her skin instead of deeper within her body, considering that she's, you know, still in one piece. Still, she looks pretty crispy. Who knows if she'll survive. What's that, you say? I'm a manga reader, so clearly I must know? Hmm, perhaps.....but I ain't tellin 🤫

Fa Jin is like gambits mutant ability he stores kinetic energy and then releases it making things explode
I thought of it how black panthers suit in the movies would store the kinetic energy from hits he took
Obviously it’s not exactly like Gambit, it’s just the easiest way to explain the power to anyone. Xmen nerds and MHA nerds are something else jesus, especially when they’re one

It's not that simple. The area he was fighting in allowed him to do that, and it's definitely not as good as just being able to use 100% by itself. He has the potential to become broken from this point though.

Sheera need to be in these anime with these ideas “I would have shaved her bald”
The editor gets a W for throwing in that David Goggins clip 🤣
The amazing fucking parallel between Nagant and Deku on this episode was crazy
Both are/were heroes
Nagant, who believes hero society is a sham, has *no hesitation killing someone*, like she said
Deku (Like we saw on the 2nd ep of S1) is someone who has *no hesitation saving someone*, completely shattering her expectations and ideologies
She, because of her own trauma, assumed Deku, a hero, was going to slow down and hesitate after Chisaki's life was put in danger
That's why, in the original subtitles, when she's about to explode she says "You're the real..."
He's a real Hero, something she didn't believe in
Note at the end of the preview for next episode instead of saying "Sarani Mukoi (Go beyond) Plus Ultra", Deku instead says "I will be alright" to showcase how he is trying to take care of everything himself and telling others not to worry about him and to stay away.
THEY DID NOT MISS THIS EPISODE!!!!
