    Hi Nat! So sorry that you had to cut your trip short, but it's understandable. I don't do well in hot weather conditions either. I'm looking forward to seeing the safari video. Have a safe journey back home. 🙏💜

      Thank you. I am glad you found my channel. Welcome to Laos soon. Though I hope it is early March, otherwise it will be very hot and smoggy due to the buring filed.

    European in Kenya at the moment (and for 14 years on and off)
    I am staying in Malindi right now but have lived in Mombasa and Mtwapa also.
    There are a couple of places that I have stayed at in Malindi with air con at less than 2500 sh a night. And pool as well.
    Most hotels have fans, if not all. And then just pray that power does not go off.
    Hot, hot in Coast is actually now and until some time in March..
    Many things change in Kenya all the time so it can be tricky to make traveling guides.
    But there are always good vlogs on YT bout accommodation and transport.

      Enjoy your stay in Malindi.

    you must be traveling on a very small budget. I travelled all over kenya for 6 weeks and did not find a single place without aircon. Also, Kenya gets 2 million international visitors per year. Mostly from the west.

    • @natnomad
      @natnomad  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I'm a budget traveler. I try not to go beyond $50 for accommodation. However, sometimes when I feel like I need it I don't mind paying more, but not many days, perhaps a night or two.
      In terms of numbers of tourists. I'm from Laos which is much smaller than Kenya, both size and population. We welcome 4 million tourists in 2024 so far. That's why I don't feel like Kenya is that touristy. I personally like it, but having more tourists is good for the local economy. Over tourists can ruin local culture like what's happening in my town, Luang Prabang.

    Between November and December is the peak season for coastal towns, that's why accomodation in expensive that much.

    Safe Journey. I find travelling by self takes a lot of getting use too after being with life time partner but now I am happy and more content by myself. I always meet someone or many as people, are "social animals" and it is so easy to be open and communicate. If one wants to be lonely one can be or not as I believe it loneness exists in the head and its up to the individual. By oneself it ensures there is no confusion, tension between others and you can be truly independent. For me, Solo travelling now fits my new travel style; each to his own. At times I do team up with others to travel to specific scenic spots but I have found my solo travel suits me. Looking forward to more ASEAN adventures; south East Asia is vast, exciting, traveller friendly and a great cultural experience. I always have security concerns regarding African travel whereas in Asia I don't experience of feel edgy - thats me. Keep up the good work.

      I used to enjoy traveling with others back in the day. But now I prefer my own time and I like being on own pace, especially with my videos because I take a lot of presentations and time to go around and film. Thanks for stopping by😊

      Thank you. According to the locals the winter starts from July to October. However while the coastal towns are hot and humid. Nairobi is cold and comfortable due to it located in the highland.

    i am a travel consultant, next time you go to kenya or ethiopia let me know i can help you. There are a lot of air b n b or hotels in the coast, mombassa, kilifi etc with air conditioning as well as fans and some of those places have generators incase power is switched off at no more than $60 a night, some even cheaper so let me know when you come back.

    You need to be straightforward and truthful.Kenya is expensive, and they need to know that.
    Id rather go to Asia, which is better , food is cheaper and better, and rents are cheaper and better.

    • @natnomad
      @natnomad  หลายเดือนก่อน

      As real as you can get with me. I don't do fake stuff. Being real makes my life much easier. I already knew even before I came that it won't be as cheap as in South East Asia but hey Africa offers different experience.
      For me, it is the heat that I can't bear.
