Thank you very much Sarah for being very supportive throughout the year. I am very grateful and very appropriate it. Happy New Year to you and your family 😊🙏🙂
Every country has their own famous holiday food. In America, it's turkey, ham, or prime roast with mash potatoes and green beans. In Laos, it's larb, papaya salad, and khao poon for the holidays especially New Years.
Happy New Year, Nat! 🎉🎉🎉 What a pleasant surprise to hear that you love to cook. It would be great to see more videos like this. I love that many Lao dishes use a lot of fresh herbs and vegetables. In terms of hand washing while cooking, I am exactly the same. You can never be too careful when it comes to sanitation. I'm looking forward to all your upcoming adventures. I also wish you continued success and growth on your channel. 😊❤
Thank you so much for your wishes. And thank you for being so supportive throughout the year. I'm so grateful. I wish2025 brings you joy and fulfillment and a year of success. Stay tune for the next adventure 🙂😊🙏
Happy 2025 Nat. I usually add leftover pork rinds or any leftover grilled meat and more veggies and herbs. This is the ultimate Laos food. Saap saap. What is pepper wood?
Happy New Year to you too. The pepper wood or known as Sakan(ສະຄານ) in Lao is type of vine that can be found in the forest. It tastes a bit hot like ginger but makes your mouth and tongue numb a bit. And it is perfect for this type of stew.
Nat, I am hoping that you may know which temple we can go to in Luang Prabang where we may get a blessing from a monk and receive a homemade bracelet. If you have an idea, that would be wonderful. We will be there next week. Thank you!
@@natnomad Thank you so much, Nat! We will look for this Wat. We love Luang Prabang and can't wait to return. Very much appreciate your offer of help if we need it. So kind! Linda and Chris
They're very similar. Though I'd say Khmu food is less variety compare to Lao food. Also Khmu food tends to be more spicy and more soup rather than fried.
@@natnomad I heard that Lao food is often eaten at room temperature, so you can pick it up with balls of sticky rice, right? Chinese cuisine has most of its dishes served hot and fully cooked. Sipsongpanna cuisine is similar to Lao food, right?
Now a new skill, Nat The Cook. I'm very interested in LAOS cuisine. Happy New Year!!!!
Thank you so much for being so supportive throughout the year. It means a lot to me.
Happy New Year to you too
Best wishes 🙂😊🙏

Cute
Thank you😊
Can you make Khao Poon next?
Let see. That also requires complicated ingredients😉
will you go to Muang Sing?
Yes, that's the plan. I'd to see Akha village
can you use sichuan peppercorn instead of pepper chili wood?
I guess you can. It may taste different.
Hey bud you forgot Buffalo skins that’s the best part of เอาะลาม
You're right haha. Well, it's an option. Adding buffalo skins means you have to cook it a lot longer.

Yes, Watt Phaphai Temple near the main street is the one. Let me know if you need anything while you're in town.

what's the difference between Lao and Khmu food? I know that Khmu is the indigenous inhabitants of Lao.
Khmu and Lao have similar cuisine. Both groups live together side by side for centuries. So it makes sense they share the same familiar foods.
They're very similar. Though I'd say Khmu food is less variety compare to Lao food. Also Khmu food tends to be more spicy and more soup rather than fried.

We don't eat rat meat, don't have chilli wood, lamongrass as for flavor. We value the looking of the dish
You can move along
Thank you. Rat meat tastes nice hehe. A bit like chicken
