That is likely because as you attempt to face the work, it does not stimulate release of dopamine producing instant gratification that other activities may produce!
@The Iron Rubber duck Yes. Do it enough times for your brain to realize that broken glass can't really hurt you, and the only thing stopping you is you.
Ex- lazy stoner here trying to start a business! The thing that's been helping me lately is seeing these things I used to use as comforts - distractions, smoking, scrolling - for what they really are; obstacles that are in the way of the things I REALLY want in life. I'll literally get myself worked up and angry, like "how dare these things disguise themselves as comforts when they're really my worst enemies!" and then use that defiant rage to launch myself into action for the day. I hope I'm not the only one who does this lol.
We’re in the same boat, using the obstacles as a way of pissing myself off has helped me kickstart this journey to better myself. As soon as I realize I’m letting my old self try to take over, I do exactly as you mentioned and use the anger to force me into making things happen for the day. I’m glad I’m not the only one who understands and does this. 🤝
Correct me if I’m wrong, but I now understand as to why we haven’t heard from you in a while. The handful of your videos are exactly what you need for self-improvement. After so many videos and coming out with more, you will eventually start to repeat yourself and just come here as a selling point to consumers rather than really helping (unlike a lot of TH-camrs). And for that I just want to say thank you and I appreciate your work. Hope all is well

It’s not that this video is just in time, it’s that this is a battle we’ve been fighting throughout our lives. Now we all have to take these answers and use them beyond the comments we post in this video.
"It knows if it allows you to freely do the work and change your life, it will die. It can and will do absolutely anything to survive." Personifying that version of yourself is a really interesting way of viewing it. In lots of ways it's like a parasite, and draws a lot of biblical parallels to Satan attempting to whisper temptation into your ear. Ultimately you have to refuse to feed it, and let it die.
This has to be, in my opinion, the best video on self-improvement I have ever watched in my entire life. He expresses in clear and effective language the true nature of why we procrastinate and what we need to do to move forward to be successful. His words are simple, direct and hold universal truths - even spiritual truths. In one of his videos on relationships, he said something to the effect of the more you chase after relationships, the more you push that away. By chasing after something or someone you are showing desperation and revealing your lack instead of accepting what is and improving yourself. You are showing yourself to be 'needy' and weak. That is a spiritual truth and law. Instead, you surrender to what is and focus on developing and improving yourself, your skills etc. Ultimately, your new self with its skills and self-esteem will attract what you are worthy of in people, things and positions.
When i first saw u i thought " i dont think this 18 year old can teach me life lessons " then i thought " U can learn something from everybody " and gave it a try .... I have scoured through countless channels and watched thousands of videos, hoping to find something that truly resonated with me. Initially, I stumbled upon your channel with the same expectations I had for the others, but something compelled me to give it a chance. From the very moment I pressed play on one of your videos, I was captivated. In one sitting, I devoured all of your content, unable to tear myself away. It has been a mere week and a half since I discovered your channel, and already I find myself propelled by a newfound sense of purpose. The shift I have experienced is far more profound than mere motivation; it is a driving force that compels me forward. I deeply appreciate the guidance and wisdom I've gained from your videos. Your ability to connect with the audience is truly remarkable. I believe your channel has the potential to inspire and empower countless individuals. I wish you the best of luck in reaching new heights. Your impact as a guiding light in my life, and the lives of others, is truly significant.
last year i downloaded 3 videos of yours as an mp3 and one of them is this and i listen to it on the road as if it's music I'm sure it's been more than a 100 times so i can technically say i memorized it😂
The type of content that hamza promises but this guy delivers without 20 minutes videos diluting it into common sense with psychology tactics to get you hooked onto his content. This guy gives out the info and steps to actually make change, love it. You’re gonna defeat all the fake productivity/self improvement gurus/scammers.
Recognizing our current identity as an entity that tries anything to survive is such a mind-blowing concept and I love it!! I've been struggling to change these days so this vid gonna save my life for sure. As always, thank you so much for bringing valuable content💎 You the best!!
I like how even with all the productivity/self improvement techniques, the only thing to do is still do the work. It reminds me of the law of equivalent exchange, if you want a great success you have to suffer in a way (risk/effort/uncertainty..).
Lazy demons attatch themselves to people to hold us back. I'm a Christian so I think this way. It is always up to us to overide it and just to do it. You are quite right I understand what you saying 💙
I’m literally shocked by the amount of points of contact between what is said in this video and my depression notes. I’ve been hostage of my current self for two horrible years, during which things only got worse to the point I couldn’t leave my home and even washing a dish felt impossible. The only thing I was able to do was to write what I understood: I wrote about an invisible force enemy of change. I wrote about the fact that every time you challenge it, it gets easier, and if you don’t, the force gets stronger. Despite having understood all of this, I fell back, because I couldn’t accept the suffering part. And here I am discovering somebody who’s been there and it’s sharing the secret: there are no secrets, you can’t avoid pain. Thank you for this video, I hope this is the last time I hit the bottom
Good info. I’d like to add, for self starting discipline individuals. Play this video again as a reminder to not give up. Like he said, motivation won’t always be there. Your discipline however always will be and if you discipline yourself enough you’ll realize it gets easier to say no to things and basically JUST DO, whatever you decide to do. I remember a video I watched that said this.. “It takes 3 seconds to make up your mind.” If you haven’t made up your mind in those seconds you will give in to your old identity or your decision that you are trying to change. So don’t think about it. Just act

I'm so glad that this video was recommended to my in my TH-cam feed. Everything you covered is an exact description of what I have been experiencing all my life. I always thought that nobody else could understand the sense of conscious paralysis that I continually battle with. Seriously, pretty much word for word, your video sums up my mental state. Thanks so much for making this video. It has made a real difference.
I usually don’t say this. But this channel is sooo underrated i hope he still upload good ideas like this and doesn’t chase fame by upload random stuff

I just found out this channel like yesterday and I'm loving it! Giacomo doesn't tell nothing new, but he does it in his own special way and I'm grateful for that, it helps to look at some things from different perspective.
You really explained it so well and it has a logic behind it. As I'm going through process of change, I realized my resistance is so strong it's actually blocking me from functioning as a rational human being which is scary and sad at the same time😢
I feel sad for how underrated this channel is. I've been here since 2k subs and every content I've watched is worth million views. Keep up the good work, I'll be sure to share this to my peeps too.
Interesting perspective. The 'future you' can be scary to visualize, especially if you aren't completely sure you'll become. Even if you're dissatisfied with your current self there is a comfort in at least being familiar with your situation.
U might be my guardian angel fr I found you at the perfect time in my life 😂😂😂. I'm about to enter my 20's just like you are and I've been hearing a lot that this a vital time period where what you do now can completely change the trajectory of your life and that this is the best time for building a solid foundation and evolving since we are still young and neouroplasticity is on our side.
Suffering makes me angry crazy. I suffered many years of my life trying to improve my self, and guess where it lead me? NOWHERE. I have constantly negative feelings and forget how it is to feel good. Life is SHIT in general, except some good things, that are worth living for.
Really good videos with a lot of truth and no bulls*t. I liked the idea of thinking of resistance as your old identity fighting for survival. Identifying the enemy in that way makes it more concrete and real and thereby easier to fight.
In life you go through this many times. but it gets easier to destroy the betrayer within you.. It starts to give up faster. Also If you can imagine a new identity that thrives on the new work.. someone you are proud to be, this is very powerful and effective.. Speeds up the change/process. I imagine the opposite of the "resistance procrasternation imbalance" would be the workaholic slave who has to work over 12 hours a day to support his identity.. pain pushing productivity is more common then productivity persuing pleasure identity.
Very, very well spoken. Tip my hat to you, good sir. You have me convinced that if my brain is trying to stop me from doing something it's because it is afraid of what I will most certainly become. It's not about trying, it's about doing it constantly until you inevitably achieving the result. I don't appreciate all of one's videos equally, the ones that I believe have the deepest meaning for me.
One of the best and wise videos I've watched. Thank you for sharing this wisdom and putting it across in a plain and simple way. Every word you spoke is true and hits the nail on the head. I will definitely give this a try as I've been struggling for the last few months with procrastination with tasks that involve changing my current self into a better future version. The identity war has given me a new perspective. Thanks, brother. God bless you!
We say "You are what you eat". It goes even further than that. We are what we consciously think. We are what thoughts we allow to go through that mental door of ours. I always thought I knew what other successful people talked about. And I did, the difference was I didn't understand.
I think what u said makes some crazy sense exactly what I was struggling with but now I watched this video I’m already not procrastinating and doing the things I need to be doing. This guys wisdom is super powerful and beneficial to whoever listens to this
The motivation that you're feeling right now will not be there when you'll try to face the work. Most relatable for me.
100%, no video is going to be as good as you just pushing through and facing it
That is likely because as you attempt to face the work, it does not stimulate release of dopamine producing instant gratification that other activities may produce!
