I got tested for asthma 3 times and had tests and there's nothing wrong with my lungs or heart. Doctor said I had sighing dyspnea. I have anxiety all the time. I feel like I can't breathe even though I am breathing, and then I panic more because I think I can't breathe. It's never-ending man. I wish I wasn't like this.

Rachael Barfield your story is exactly mine. I just recently told myself if I die I die. I went to jujitsu and had some very hard work outs. My life is slowly changing for the better. Sucks that you have to have a mentality that you risk death. But it does somthing to you... makes you feel better it gives you sort of peace of line knowing you can work out hard and not die... then you think you your self “how can I die just sitting here” ... people would tell just work out and your anxiety will disappear.... easy for them to say but when you feel short of breath and have a phobia of working out ... not easy. It was difficult to get over the first jump but I did. Good luck

The best way to get rid of it
Just think like this: "Okay, I'm short on breath because of anxiety, so what? Is that going to stop me from living my life freely? It's just in my imagination, everything is alright, I'm not going to panic just because of it."
Yeah, this does seem silly, but if you understand the term of these words, your anxiety is gone, and youe moral is boosted, just try to understand the full term of them, it worked for me at least, so i just thoght i'd share this.

When he talked about the oxygen levels, it made me think of when I went to the hospital. I went to the hospital in May because I was ... I'd say on the verge of having a panic attack ... but with researching the symptoms of it, I'd say I was having a panic attack. I had my S.O. take me to the closest hospital, because I couldn't be in the car that long, my hands and arms were going numb, I had a hard time breathing, felt like I was confined, and I was freaking out. I had a panic attack before and I was worried about it happening again. When I arrived at the hospital I told them my symptoms and I got into a room. I met the nurse and told him what was up, he said I was causing it... I was pretty upset, I went there hoping they'd help me, maybe give me an oxygen mask or something (cuz I literally felt like I couldn't breathe) and he said, I was causing it myself... I was mad!
He explained it to me as hyperventilation, he said the way I was breathing was the same as hyperventilating. Then the Doctor came over and asked me questions like, "Are you eating well? Sleeping well? Taking care of yourself?"
All my answers were no. I wasn't eating right, and my sleep schedule was way off. I knew I wasn't taking care of myself, still, I was upset that I was causing that to happen to me; it was a terrible feeling. I worry about it every damn day, it still effects me, and I have two young children that I want to be doing things with, but my anxiety stops me from doing a lot. Anyways I began to cry about everything to the Doctor.... I am a pretty sensitive person, and when I was crying I expressed that I felt like I couldn't breathe again, the Doctor said, "Your oxygen levels are at 100, you're breathing just fine." Or something along those lines, I just remember him saying my levels were at 100. That made me realize ok, ya I guess I'm causing myself to feel this way...
They gave me a card for recommendations for a primary doctor, but I was moving so there was no point in me finding one there. I am now in a new state and hopefully can get help here, but until I get a state ID and insurance, I have to find ways to cope on my own. I've found that looking up on it &+ hearing others stories and that they are also experiencing shortness of breath is helpful... talking about it is helpful too. 🙃❣️

I also had a miscarriage in Jan (last year) and so not sure if that had any effect on my anxiety, but today I am doing much better. @@sawsankamal210 Hey I'm so sorry that you are battling anxiety too. It's a tough battle, but not impossible. A lot of people have anxiety now, especially due to covid. I'll tell you the biggest thing that helped me when I felt like I couldn't breath, was I did box breathing. If I felt like I wasn't able to breathe I would breathe through my nose 1, 2, 3, 4, hold 1, 2, 3, 4. Breathe out of my nose 1, 2, 3, 4, hold 1, 2, 3, 4. It would allow me to get that deep breath I needed without causing myself to hyperventilate. I hope that it helps, and hope you have someone to talk to, if not lmk and we can exchange socials and talk. Wishing you the best luck! 🙂💖

QUESTION: Does anyone find it hard to run or work out during periods of this anxiety that is causing breathing issues? The reason I ask, is because during periods where I get a break from the anxiety, I can work out and run further. When I have the anxiety, I can't even run 100 feet without a massive breathing and panic episode.

Could someone give me some comfort? I've been dealing with this for going on 2 weeks, usually it only lasts a few hours and it goes away. But I've been short of breath constantly for almost 14 days in a row. Chest X-rays fine, CT scan fine, Blood test fine, EKG fine... Had panic disorder all my life, not once ever had this symptom which just general anxiety.. Heart rate is in the 50's while I'm gasping for air. Can someone let me know that it'll be ok? I have the same issues. I noticed if I smoke weed, I will immediately be short of breath and it will last 2-2.5 months every single day. Unfortunately I’ve tested this theory twice now and have spent almost half the year feeling short of breath worrying if it’s something else, googling every little symptom I feel (makes it worse lol) but it’s just some type anxiety even when I don’t feel anxious. I’ve had MRIs etc. Oxygen levels seem normal my body is just anxious/stressed.

Right so I'm 17 and this shit started with me a few months ago. I spoke to a few doctors which is a lot better than relying upon youtube or the internet in general.
They told Me it's anxiety related and it would go all by itself or I can take anxiety pills.
Honestly, the hardest thing is that I don't understand why I have anxiety. There isn't anything bothering me in life like my parents are laid back with results and stuff. I'm attending university next month. Everything is fine , there isn't a reason for me to be having this problem that I'm having now.
Also I'd recommend yoga to people cause it's helping me slowly , makes me feel better temporarily and I'm rooting for it to have some long term benefits.
Talk therapy helps too since I clearly told my doctors that I didn't want to rely upon inhalers or pills if everything is physically fine.
When I do something that I get really involved into , I get distracted from my shortness of breath for a while. It's a lot worse at nights.
I hope you all heal cause there has to be a way, anxiety can't and won't stay forever.

Same age, same story. It's a form of OCD: you think you're dying, that you have cancer, lung or heart disease. I thought I had a mental illness, schizophrenia or that I had permanently damaged my brain. The worst is right now: I'm questioning my sexual orientation. The pattern is the same: the legitimate doubt that it is possible, the problem is that there is no diagnosis to define one's sexuality, so it is a permanent mental torture, to every woman and man I see I wonder if I am attracted, and at night or when I am not doing anything I am racking my brains remembering events that would make me straight or gay. I've even developed a phony attraction, just like the difficulty in breathing is too. The brain is a real piece of shit sometimes. And with all of this I still have trouble breathing, so much so that I still sometimes wonder if my life is in danger when I know it's not. I'm sorry, I need to write this down for someone, because unlike breathing, I can't talk to real people about this, it's a fucking dead end.

I'd look at random men and women and go like "wait do I feel something for them".
Sometimes I thought about it so much that I dreamt something sexual with a friend. I always knew I was predominantly straight but trust me I went online to confirm my sexuality through stupid online quizzes lol until one fine day it disappeared. The concern, the worry, everything revolving around sexuality disappeared. It might come again but for the next time I've made sure I'm better prepared.
There wouldn't be an end to anxiety but you know we can keep learning and be better prepared for it the next time it comes.
I'm sure you'll get over it one day , just hold on a little while. Its disturbing I know but trust me we are the same. I went through it and I know it will be over for you like it was for me.

      @ChipsGoutSmegma 3 ปีที่แล้ว

@@lakshitad.8898 Have you also had this doubt with your sexuality? For real? For me, it started with three triggering events: I first looked at a man's ass in the street without looking away. I said to myself "stop looking at it, it's gay" and I didn't think about it more than that at the time but it started here. Then I got a comment from a family member, noticing that I haven't had any girlfriends, he said I might be gay. At the time I defended myself by saying I wasn't. But the nightmare began in front of a live react on Twitch of a report about homosexuality. I had a panic attack and I've had this thing about testing my heterosexuality ever since.
For the breathing problems, it's related to the fact that I was using cannabis and I associated these breathing difficulties with smoking, like cancer or asthma. One day I thought I was going to die (panic attack, again) I went to the emergency room and since then it started, I had a little bit of a quiet period and since 2 weeks it came back more frequent.

Dear .. If you suffer from shortness of breath, and you have gone to several doctors and did not find a cure, then most likely you suffer from a defect in the functions of the stomach or intestines, and its treatment is with an internist, who takes the initiative and prescribes a psychological medication for you, and you are prescribed The case here is that the stomach functions malfunction, and not a psychological condition.. (unless you suffer from a deep and clear psychological condition..it has symptoms and not just ordinary obsessions), and psychiatric medications are usually used for treatments related to the intestines and stomach, even if they are not There are symptoms of a psychological condition.
But before going to an internist or psychiatrist, you must do the following tests.. Because what will be mentioned below is directly related to shortness of breath, and there may be a problem with one of them that can be treated, and psychological treatment may be excluded.. They are as follows:
      (1) Doing x-rays of the liver, as its enlargement leads to shortness of breath.
      (2) You should check iron stores, because its decrease or increase leads to shortness of breath. (The test is done through the blood)
      (3) You should do a vitamin B12 test because its low leads to shortness of breath. (The test is done through the blood)
      (4) You should do a vitamin D test (the test is done through the blood)
      (5) Examination of stool and urine.
      (6) IgE food allergy examination.
      (7) Examination of stomach germs.
      (8) Respiratory specialist (specialist in lungs and esophagus).
      (9) Ear, nose and throat doctor.
      (10) Imaging the heart, as a leakage from the coronary artery may affect the breathing process
      (11) Examination of glands
      (12) Visit an orthopedic doctor.. You may have a muscle strain, affecting the breathing process, or a spinal deformity that may affect your respiratory process, or a lump in the neck, and an orthopedic doctor examines these matters through an MRI scan.
      (13) CT scan.. It provides accurate data on the condition of the lungs.
And if you have problems with one or some of what was mentioned above.. and you treated it and your breathing difficulty did not stop.. you should go to an internist specializing in the intestines and stomach, and if this doctor prescribed a medicine to calm the intestines and used it for a while And it did not heal (the problem of breathing may increase in some cases if you used sedatives for the intestines), and if you used and did all these tests and the internist did not take the initiative to prescribe a psychiatric medicine for you, go yourself to a psychiatrist, and your condition is described as a disorder With the functions of the stomach or intestines and not as a psychological condition, and the psychological medicine that he will prescribe for you contains elements that treat the stomach or intestines, and the effects of healing with medicine appear within a month or three months.. where you will feel healing..
And in general, the internist in your case (if you visited him) should have taken the initiative to prescribe psychiatric medication for you, but it is most likely that one of these internists, who does not want to interfere in the specialization of others.
And if you examined all of the above and you did not recover, then your condition is diagnosed.. as being of nutritional origin, as eating the normal food that you eat and that any person eats, constitutes an allergy to your stomach or intestines, which causes an imbalance in the breathing process, and if you You want to make sure of this point specifically, you should eat rice without any additives or spices for about two or three days, and I mentioned rice here because it is a light food, does not contain oils or legumes. The condition you suffer from, it is related to the stomach and food allergies, and its treatment by the internist, who may act with what is supposed to get you out of shortness of breath.
And the name of the disease that causes persistent shortness of breath, and the condition that accompanies the symptoms that I previously mentioned to you is called functional dyspepsia k30.. And all that you feel in places of the body such as a spasm in the neck and the septum located in the upper abdomen below the lungs is caused by gases.. and The strength of gases increases if the intestines or stomach have a defect..
      As for psychotherapy...
      - If you are afraid of taking psychiatric treatment, because it harms the reputation, as people think that the person being treated with psychiatric medication is crazy or insane, then go to the doctor on your own, and you may hide the medicine in a place that no one knows.
      - And if you are afraid that psychotherapy may cause you hallucinations in front of people, this is unreal, lies and soap operas.
      - And if you are afraid that the psychotropic drug may cause you to sleep all day long, this is true.. but it only starts for a few days within only two weeks (it can cause sleep for 4 days out of a total of 14 days in the first two weeks only) and The effect of sleep quickly disappears, and it is normal, but the psychiatrist should avoid eating cheese, yogurt, milk, mortadella and sausage (salami), several hours before taking the drug, because these foods increase the effect of drowsiness and sleep, and they last for several hours. hours, and you can go back and eat these foods..but long hours before taking the medicine..like 12 hours.
      - And if you are afraid of the costs of psychological treatment, the price of psychiatric drugs is similar to the price of regular drugs, and it may be cheaper in many cases.
Before visiting a psychiatrist, you must do the following:
      (1) Provide an accurate description of what you feel, as the psychiatrist depends on speech, and psychiatry is sometimes called “speech medicine”, which the patient presents to the doctor, because the doctor does not have any examination or measurement tool, and therefore the doctor resorts to monitoring your performance and speech And things that may not be related to your condition in order to build an idea about you.. such as your speed of speech or even your presentation of emotional behavior or even crying in front of it, and based on what you do it gives you medicine, so act completely on your nature and be normal in front of it, and if you write the symptoms What you experience on a piece of paper will be better, helping you to remember it.
      (2) Commitment to taking the medicine on time, and not making a decision to stop taking it until after consulting the doctor.
      (3) Putting the medicine, keeping it and storing it in a room with a

I feel the exact same way like someone is sitting on my chest or I feel like as if I’m not getting enough air and gonna suffocate, it’s all in the head, it’s a long term sensation you feel from anxiety, stress, or a combination of those two, which I feel, felt that way since last year and I keep drinking water to feel safe but all I can say is that it’s a mental thing, you aren’t actually losing oxygen or suffocating, you’re breathing just fine, it feels like you’re dying but it’s the mind playing tricks on you, it isn’t fun I hate it as much as you do, and I have seen other people on here in comments having the same thing, I tell you, stress and anxiety can do wonders if not controlled and eased
