I think Zag and Nyx need to talk plainly. Its natural to want your mother to be unharmed. He's obviously worried and its the frecking god of war so his caution is warranted.

Ares is not a womanizer like Zeus. And since Nyx already call her relationship with Ares as "friendship" maybe that's what both of them wanted, not just Nyx herself. Ares mentioned his war always done in nighttime and he wanted to "learn and exchange ideas" with Nyx, means he too just want to become friends with the night herself
I wonder if they ever touch on the fact that Poseidon raped Medusa, and Athena turned her into a monster because she was raped her temple, and because she became a monster she was killed by Perseus and had her head used as a weapon. Thou it's possible Dusa is not her and just a play on words. Maid Dusa.
I don’t think this universe follows mythology that closely. Here, Demeter is Zeus’ cousin instead of his sister, and Persephone’s father is a mortal farmer instead of Zeus. For that matter, in the mythology, Dusa would be mounted to Athena’s shield.
That is also a more "modernized" version of the myth from the roman era, written by Publius Ovidius Naso, in classical greek myology medusa is one of the three sisters that are all chthonic monsters born from the ancient marine deities Phorcys and his sister Ceto, so while not rape we get incest.
She is just a gorgon, there is a dialogue in the game where zag wonders if dusa is related to 3 sisters on the surface. Which implies that she is not medusa
that tale is the roman version , written by Ovid. The original greek version had her been a chtonic deity that turns in a monster without the whole Poseidon and Athena.
