Great stuff! I always try to attend all track days. It easier and relaxed compared to drags and you get to chat to just about anyone in their garage about their cars etc. Would be awesome to hear your thoughts or maybe do a follow up on your suspension setup. What you felt and thoughts on how to improve etc
Hey. I have lots of thoughts about where I am and where I'd like to be. Been obsessing over it lately. Lots of improvements to the car coming over the next few months so I'll get into everything as I go along. It's difficult to convey my thoughts without it being a drag for most people that don't really care so I'll try to break it up and make it somewhat interesting. My suspension setup is very basic right now. Budget coilovers adjusted to what we think is works best for now. Will mess around with spring rates to see how much is in it before I splash out on 2 ways. If I catch you at a track day we can have a in depth chat about these things. 💪🏽
I wasn't cooking the brakes. The Motul 660 is doing it's thing. I had no brake fade. I still love drags, I don't see myself stopping anytime soon. I was going to race last night but I've got some maintenance to do.

welldone man, that last race you did i could see you where pushing abit starting to get used to the car and the track but havinng fun. But yeah there is definitely abit of a ping up in the revs.
I couldn't hear the pinging clearly because the itbs are so noisy but watching it back with headphones it's very evident. I'll run an octane booster and it should be happy.
Good running into you again man, and for once again being part of the highlight of my day lol (I ran my fastest time to date of 1:40.05, with an optimal lap of 1:38.9). Yeah, we're not supposed to overtake under braking in group 1, but others have gotten away with a lot worse...! Anyway really well done for quickly finding your rhythm out there. While I try and find those 2s next time, I'm sure you'll be another couple seconds quicker 😀 looking forward to the 29th!
It's so funny because I told Robin about you and then he let me know that he helped you setup your car. So it's cool that we got to dice. I'm sure we will have many more of those 😬 Congrats on your PB. Sub 1:40 next time for sure 💪🏽
Awesome video bud! With more seat time you will become much faster. I would say switch to a semi tyre asap, there’s a day and night difference with regards to grip. Normal tyres grip less the longer your session continues and semi’s does the opposite. The other option is an expensive tyre like P zero/PS4 which you find on 911t’s. My stock Fiesta ST use to run 1:35 @ trackdays 10 years ago, I’m sure you can even beat that time because you have much better acceleration and 1/4 mile time. Keep the track content coming.
Thanks a lot. Semis is on the cards but just working on driver mod and improving the setup slowly but surely. I did a 1:35 at the last event so there's improvement already. A lot more in it, just building the confidence and learning the best line for myself as a driver and the car.
Building a car for track requires abit more than a just fast street build car. Your car not just only sounds but stability around the corners looks effortless with the amount of torque of the engine when coming out the corner. Lekker mk2👍
You sound humble since I started watching,I think when you drove the golf after buying or something it lol. Dont change your logo, it is gonna be known oneday🙏

That was epic mate. Really enjoyed that. That braking at the end of the back straight was funny. Unsettled the mk5😢😅. Car sounded lekke and seemed fast. Dunno the classes but you passed quite a few cars. Im jealous dude. Im in for this journey.
I was so desperate to get past that I went for it, definitely messed up the line for the Mk5. 🙈 I was in the beginner / first timer class. It's a mixed bag. Some guys run in there because one class up is very fast. But there are a lot of very slow / very cautious drivers in the first class so it's tricky. I'll go one class up next time. The only down side is that I will be one of the slower guys in that class.
@@lowdl I think better brakes can make you fast enough. If you are competing against your own times you will improve I'm sure. Kudos for sharing the experience.
@@teamphashash I'm not out there to compete with anyone. I'll try to keep up where I can but it's a process of becoming one with the car and just having fun out there.
It's a street car track day. Anyone can enter as long as the vehicle can pass scrutineering. Battery secure, seat secure, brake pressure, no leaks, etc. For your first track day you should join group 1, it is for beginners. Group 2 is intermediate and group 3 is full race pace. It's not racing, you just get to take your car on track and drive as fast as you can. There's no winner at the end of the day, but if you can drive your car home, you are a winner. Haha. Check out Killarney raceway and see if you can get a calendar. The next track day is on the 29th of June and the following one is the 17th of August.

Semi slicks is on the cards and I'm actually happy with the pads. The braking felt really good. I felt like I could out brake a lot of cars in my class.
