Was just gifted a new Hakko FX951 from my boss. Guess I need to get some "Rosin" to go along with my morning coffee. Like the videos, learning lots, keep up the good work. Regards from New Brunswick, Canada. :)
I know a garage man and he makes the workers bring their own tools to work. He said that he used to supply tools when he started out but they kept going walkies from his garage.
It is very important for us professional people to use professional tools, we are expected to return items as good or better than when we received them!! People will realize this and the word will spread- good business!
yeah! your back... you do not have the tip set down all the way! I have a KSGER T-15 soldering station. I have had it for a couple of years now and it works well I got it because the hakko's were not fused.. now I know why.. I had not thought of the transformer idea dang smart.. Missing you out here Sorin.. I tried discord.. but it doesn't work well for me.. not only being a noob but being 69 years old.. I do not really have a lot to contribute. these kids are so much smarter than I.. Well carry on hope to see you putting these videos out regularly soon..
I'm 28 starting in the business, working for three years, not long ago I opened a ham radio and was overwhelmed by it, older technicians are geniuses to me, I have youtube to learn, you didn't back in the days, I whish I had someone like you to teach me!
@@gabrysur Well some one that knew a bit more about electronics maybe.. as for the business end.. now that I know.. don't fret.. in a year you will not be so over whelmed by the old style of things.. Just amazed at how simple it has turned out to be now.. Good luck little brother.. your on your way!
Did buy the same €15 on eBay Only did solder the part my self The tips are the same brand The solder iron is with a sensor when you are moving it’s on and when you are not it going off works great So get it save now from your coworkers. No plastic soldering
So where are you, man. I'm glad to see you. I am a butcher by profession, but, in addition to you, I will also learn electronics ... I constantly follow your channel and learn. I almost started, but I'm making progress. In general, I wish you, your family and all the people in the world all the best. Greetings from Serbia ...
Hi Mr Sorin, Happy to have you back, by the way, the "rubber thing" is for tips changer so you will not burn hands when is hot, that is a grate solder station I am looking also to buy it, I got one cheaper Kasger t12 with almost the same type of tips T12, keep ongoing the good work
Thanks for the video. Good job on getting that Hakko. The heating element in the tip is a game changer and those curved 'J' type tips are remarkable...
Hi Sorin, check if there's a red light on the solder iron near the cable, a lightened ring that glows when a tip is inserted. If the ring is solid yellow plastic then the iron is a fake and probably the station too.
The connecting cable runs from the back or the hakko control unit to the hakko iron stand. it lets the iron go to sleep when the iron is put in its stand - theres a microswitch built into the stand which trips from the weight of the iron.
Sorin, check the output folder for the video you lost, if you use OBS to record your videos, the file is there e hasn't been lost. It has happen to me and the file was fine.
Great to see you back Sorin. Please can you keep doing even the boring videos on hinges etc as laptop models change with time and always good to see different weak spots.
It is amazing for me to hear from someone repairing electdonics for a living that he used £25 soldering iron.Sorin you are great!!! Believe me there are loads of twats out there not doing anything or tiny bit of electrinics you do but they will be complaing about their hakko everywhere...not happy with temp. or wire flexibility etc. You just do loads of electronic with cheap stuff and still happy it RESPECT. You deserved it like noone else.
for every computer that has a no removable battery a way to reset to bios some models have a reset button othere u just need to unplug the charger and press the power button btwin 10 sec and 30 sec others have some keyboard keys that need to be pressed at the same time the 2nd option works for many HP models sometimes u need to check the manual or search on the internet or check the constructor forum
i like sorin for being honest about the issue, other technician will look for other issues and say, hey its a motherboard job, u have a shorted board.... blah blah blah... of shame on those tech
21:03 I sent my soldering tip back to Hakko because of this error they should fix the mounting or put it in the manual with the bold print to insert tip fully ;)
Great Job Sorin, just one thing about pricing jobs: im not agrre with low price for reset bios, just imagine if you book job for MB repair for 60 pounds and you spending 2-3 hours because was more difficul then you thought customer not pay you extra money for that. so when job is less time taking then i thougt I charge same price.
Nice to see you finally upgrading by the way the cheap tips are exactly the same as the name brand I have both and notice no difference even after over two years
This will likely be a common issue since these were/are now selling from BestBuy to $109.99. Good deal for a very limited but very functional laptop. Good to know how to fix if/when it fails :)
And here's me learning on a crappy £20 toolstation soldering iron, cables are so damn stiff whole thing moves when you pick up the iron heh. Glad to see you doing ok Sorin!
Thanks for the video, bought the same laptop/notebook, and i really wanted to see if there’s an m.2 slot there, which it is 💪 but searching on yt/ google was easier than opening it up ( i’m lazy) good job and good luck
The name you are serching for is 'ISOLATION TRANSFORMER. Regards from Italy.
100% correct
your honesty is a beautiful thing.. wish there was more of us

I Love your channel HotGlueSorrin. You are one of the only people on youtube who are NOT trying to sell me something. Well done and thank you.

It is very important for us professional people to use professional tools, we are expected to return items as good or better than when we received them!! People will realize this and the word will spread- good business!
Hi Sorin the rubber 'thingy' is silicone so you can remove tips whilst hot (wrap around tip and pull)
I think you are gonna love those tips, they heat so fast and hold their heat so well. Brilliant!
Your honesty Sorin is searing and very commendable! Bravo to you! I salute you!

It’s for changing hot tips so you don’t burn your fingers
I have this solder iron , you won't be disappointed ..
"everyone took my tools" LoL..it's the same story in our repair workshop, sometimes tools just disappear from my station when i go out for lunch..
Put a small bit of sticky glue on the tools. The coworkers will stop.
I would probably damage someone if they stole my stuff
"In this shop most moral persons are me and the owner" *shakes the coat/jacket*
Theree ya go! Nothing like the smell of a new tool! Can't wait to see you finaly make those fingerprint repairs with this iron 😂😂
sorin we miss you man.
