*Remember:* A trick Speedrunners use is to take advantage of the goal's thin hitbox by going extremely fast. The ball becomes too fast that it clips through the pole and break the tape.
But it's not tape...

This isnt even a valid TAS. You obviously implented a hack that makes the posts around every goal invisible. You clearly hit the side post on a good amount of levels and level 25 on expert clearly shows it. Might as well make a hack which makes him float at high speed to the finish
Actually, that's a known quirk with the game's physics. Collision is only checked every few frames, meaning with enough speed and the right timing you can go straight through anything, including the sides of goals.
Heck, you can see the Expert 25 clip in some real-time runs. It's relatively easy.
@@chris40v17 I've went through the post many times in real time on console, you should learn the mechanics of the game before making such bold statements. Also, why would anyone hack a TAS?

TAS speedruns aren't really people playing the game well, just controlling the game to make it as easy as possible e.g. Slowing it down, speeding it up while it still records at normal frames, or actually having a computer put in the inputs, it really takes the fun out of it.

GamingPhone It's not a computer. And it doesn't take the fun out of it for the people doing the TAS. I bet it's really complex and interesting. You might find it boring, but they might not. Also, completing a TAS must give a VERY rewarding feel and satisfaction.
GamingPhone I like how you claim it takes the fun out of it, when in reality, sometimes I find TAS more fun than the actual game. TAS also is never done by a computer. Your first explanation was it. You take an emulator, and slow the game down enough to where you can create the perfect input at any given time frame, which makes TAS more like a what if for if humans never made any mistakes. TAS is a load of fun to do.
I still remember how much Passage scared the shit out of me. Seeing those shapes come towards me was terrifying.

Mrniceguy 818 the game checks for collision each frame. Since he was traveling so fast, the game couldn’t detect collision between the ball and the goal post. This has happened to me numerous times without TAS.

This game is easily my pick for one of the hardest games ever made. But despite that, its the most fun to watch a speedrun for
that last Gamecube stage was just completely swag I love it xD ...but you forgot to TAS the credits game, how could you :P
It would increase the time. TAS is measured from power on to last input, and that last input must trigger the credits/ending.
the TAS of this game is so cool bc it isn’t glitches, just pure like angles and physics and whatever and it’s just so awesome to watch!!! good job!!!
The moral of the story is: if you play it safe and do what is expected, you will lose but if you think outside the box and show no fear like the gamer in the video, you will accomplish the impossible. Monkey Ball = Life.
There are times where going outside the box is more of a detriment than anything. Most of the stages can be done well with playing it safe with a bit of exceptions from time to time

In SMB2 Expert to Master Extra,
All Stage 2s had a Green Goal warping you to Stage 4.
Having watched this after the first TAS, I can say this achieves the impossible: being even better than the former! Both are so clean, tightly executed, and defied all common understanding of physics.
So nice to see this game pushed to its limits. Its just beautiful.

Christopher Hoener I managed to clear planets once without breaking the paper. I hit the goal at an almost completely vertical angle.

+DarknessChampion It is a glitch. If you are going at a fast enough speed, you can clip through the goal post as the game recognizes that you hit the goal tape before you hit the post.
