How to fix Samsung digital door lock? DIY replace mortise easily for $60.

- I have 2 Samsung door locks (SHS-P910). One broke down a few months ago when the motor failed to move the dead bolt. Then the same happened to this door! I believe the mortise lifespan is ~5 years only.. Don't go replace the whole smart doorlock, which will be at least $600.
Buy the mortise (works for most Samsung model) for $60 on Shopee

My original mortise is AML220, but the Shopee only sell the AML240, which will work too. Size same and compatible.

I've had my lock for exactly 5 years now and the double Deadbolt system stopped coming out on mine about a week ago. I looked everywhere on TH-cam to see if anyone else had the same problem. I couldn't find "one video" with my same issue. So I found out today what the issue is, and I ordered the bolt. I decided to come back to TH-cam one more time to make sure I couldn't find another person and I see your video lol. At least I know what to do when my part gets here now. Thanks‼

My part was supposed to come in tomorrow, but it can't early today. I just finished putting it in, and it works fine now. It only took about 10-15 min thanks to your video. I appreciate it sir💯

Hi. You have to google the specs and find the mortise model. I only know this mortise is widely used, but I don't know about the hundreds of models that Samsung make.
Thanks for your helpful video, Junda! Mine is SHP-DP727 and I have exactly the same problem as yours in the first part of your video. I noticed mine looks very much like yours even though they are different models. Do you think AML220/240 would still work for mine?
I would think so since this mortise is very widely used. But best to check your specs, or dismantle to confirm.
@@JundaOng I have a similar issue with my DP727. Except that the bolt comes out then goes back in again, and then the door stays unlocked, Do you think replacing the mortise will solve the issue?

A quick google seems to be the same mortise. Do read the specs to make sure AML 220 or 240, where both are are similar to use. I can’t install for you 😅
Hi. My door has the same beeping sound and keep open automatically. Is this the default when mortise is faulty?
Yes it will beep, and the mortise keep trying to lock, while in unlocked position.
Hi im also experiencing this mortise not protruding but also saying replace battery, did you also occur in yours?

Hi Junda, i am looking for some advice. Apparently i have the same door lock as yours, however when i try to close the door, it cannot be lock. At the same time, I cannot hear the motor pushing the bolt actually. Do you think changing the mortise helps?
If the battery ok, the panel ok, then likely is the mortise no longer working.
Is it mean. If there totally no sound , mean it not working anymore. Mena have to replace a new lock instead ?
Same issue as yours. Definitely seem like mortise if your keypad & fingerprint & the open door remote is working.
Then the problem should be mortised

I ordered the mortise and replaced exactly as you taught in the video, but sadly the problem is still there:( with the new mortise, I can hear the sound of motor trying to engage more clearly, but still the lock refuses to come out. Do you think there is anything else I can try? ;(;(;(
To engage the lock, you can also press in the metal thingy below the bolt. Did you try press that fully in, and see how? If the bolt doesn't come out, the new mortise could be faulty too. Maybe contact seller and ask.

Hi, my samsung, unable lock suddenly. I changed the batteries, it still doesnt work
Mine was mortise issue, which can still hear the motor turning, but can't engage. If you experience the same then can replace mortise as per the video.
I have the same problema but replacement parts in my country are hard to find. Is it possible to fix it instead of replacing it? Have you tried to open the broken mortise to see what was wrong with it? A video of that would be so helpful for us who wants to fix it instead of replacing it
I did attempt to open up the mortise and see if any of the gear is loose or what. But I couldn’t make make it work. It’s not hard to open it up.
Luclily, I didn't need to buy a new one, I just hit it on the floor a couple times and the motor suddenly work again!
I had an opposite issue. The unlock doesn't work correctly. It fully unlock and protrude out a little right after it fully retract back. The low battery chime keep playing even my batteries are brand new.. not sure if a new mortise lock will solve this... Mine at 5 years tooooo
Did u fixed yours? Mine started to have this problem too recently dammit.
