Middle position yes. In the early days he played a Ricky and the red 345 (355?) then the Les Paul started to appear and the white Strat around 86/87 Strangeways era. I think 2 pickups were generally involved. I would probably dial back the Chorus a tad. I wonder if he ever used any of the rack gear of the time, Yamaha SPX, Alesis, Lexicon for some subtle widening and the Reverbs in those things are fantastic.

Beautiful color on that one, I have not seen the Blue one in person or a Sherwood green one. Just White, Orange & Black ones locally & now I rarely even see them around.

The Johnny Marr Jaguar in Lake Placid blue for me is the one, it’s a beautiful finish and looks cool, well done on emulating the Johnny Marr sound your pretty close, Johnny has always been my favourite guitarist and guitar sound, I have my setup sounding pretty similar with a few of differences to create my own guitar tone, but using Johnny’s clean tone as a basis is a great lovely starting point for me and makes most of our own songs I play with my band sound pretty great.

You've gotten pretty close but I've yet to meet anyone to get Johnny's sound just right but that's what makes him so amazing. Listening to Johnny playing in The Smiths is actually what really made me want to learn to play guitar. Before that I only played drums and sang growing up. His amazing melodic playing and unique style just blew me away and I had to pickup a guitar and give it a go. Of course I can't play anything like him but he's inspired my whole outlook as to what I can do with a guitar. You've some beautiful guitars! Much love and pickin! J.

You do realise that once Marr records his guitar it gets mixed and mastered before the record is released don’t you? Are you trying to claim that it’s possible to sound identical to the sound on his studio album records? If so, you are deluded. This dude has the sound locked in 98%

Bro there’s nothing illegal about showing a Chibson. How would they prove that you knew what you were buying? You’ve simply been duped by an online seller 😉

Ironically much of what people think of as the JG 'sound' are telecasters and Gibson. JM is the JM sound.

    Cool video
Is this through the Marshall? Does the volume control have the range of a strat?

100% - i'd say look for it second hand. Pricey pedal. Depending on what you want, check out the flint too - could've gone for that as i don't have a tremolo anymore :)

@@Cyclingsucks thanks mate , just ordered one from eBay, got it for £190, pretty decent. Luckily I have tremolo on the amp- vibro champ fender.
