    I was so shocked that Saturday night. First short match I still remember and how mad I was at the unfairness of it all.

      I never saw this but I remember when Rick Rude broke Steamboat’s face in WCW and left him a bloody mess outside the ring as well. Steamboat is a glutton for punishment it seems.

    Is it just me or was Robert's DDT waaay more dangerous than how it's done today?
    He drove them on top of their heads and with a QUICK snap!
    While These days, the guys go face first (like an RKO in reverse basically) and land on their hands/chest and never even get close to their heads making contact... Roberts had guys slumping over from their heads, flipping over, etc etc.
    Moves progressively got safer after Vince admitted it was "Scripted - Sports Entertainment" in that opening RAW segment in 98' when he began the attitude era to beat WCW.

      By the late 90s the DDT was prostituted as just another move

    So Jake was orginally a heel ?

    • @DrugzMunny
      @DrugzMunny ปีที่แล้ว +4

      He was a heel pretty much his whole career outside of 1996

    Jake not considering that he could possibly do the DDT in a less dangerous way.

      Please tell me about your pro wrestling experience and how you would do it, taking into account everything that Roberts would have had to, especially being on live TV.

      @@zciliyafilms5508 Instead of have the head poke out behind your arm to the maximum, have the head in a more forward position so that it's not poking out. Stand at the edge of an exposed mat so that his head looks like it's headed to the concrete, but your ass still takes the bump on a double-folded mat. And then let your ass take most of the bump so that you're slowed down by the time you get to your back. Probably also hold onto the rail with your right hand to slow down. Pretty goofy that you think no one can figure out a way to perform a less stiff DDT when most wrestlers who use the DDT don't perform it in as stiff a way as Jake did. You might as well be like "There's no way you can think of how to do a piledriver without spiking the guy's head for real." Your condescension and hostility is just unreal.

      @@DrugzMunny And again, please tell me all about your experience in the ring so that I can take your opinion over the professionals who do this for a living. Because I'm sure you're smarter than all of them.

      He’s said it himself. The tap on the back before the ddt was to let the opponent know it was coming so they could adjust as they were being dropped

      @@PhookYooyea good point. Jake tapped his back on the way down. Too late

    Can't believe Vince made that idea, and made thousands more horrible and uncomfortable ideas all the way through today. Vince is a total disaster to professional wrestling with all of these disgusting disasters, not to mention cheating, interferences, betrayals, 20 foot dives off cages and balconies, distracted referees and too much microphone talking that is wasting time. WWE is more lame than ever and still is.
