Jake looks as sober as a glass of milk. Good for him. He sounds great and it seems like a burden has been lifted off his shoulders. Wishing him continued success with his sobriety and a happy rest of his life. He was a GREAT entertainer and an A-List professional wrestler.
He was the consummate showman. Willing to get bit by a cobra for the betterment of the show. He also knew they could both get better paychecks over this
Would you believe, I was listening to this interview on my laptop, but I was on another page, and his impression was so SPOT ON I had to shift back to the page to make sure it wasn't t the actual Macho on LoL
They say the good die young, and assholes live forever. Jake doesn't seem like an asshole anymore, and was one of the greats to watch, but after watching his documentary, he definitely had his moments, and plenty of them.
Actually one of the best ones ive heard. Most people go overboard, but he could actually pass for Randy. Sounds more like Savage than even Black Machismo.
kenterminatedbygoogle I would but at the same time I respect Jake the Snake. I guess its the part where it seems he makes it about Jake setting him up more than getting bit by the snake that was a bit over the top to me. He just should been like fuck nah. Vince gonna have to fire me. Shit Vince does whatever Shawn wants almost why not Macho Man.
Best Macho Man impression ever! Dude is hilarious! I haven't watched wresting in decades but I still remember watching him release the snake on him, best heel moment ever!
Admiral Sisko Guess I'm 1 ahead of you, cos I saw it, when it first aired. So this is what its like to be old, huh? God this sucks. lol On the good side, I have BOTH Savage & Roberts in my NWA Wrestling game. lol Not feuding with each other, as a matter of fact, I just brought Savage back at my February PPV. I've had my NWA on tour for 30 years now. And hell, I'm just getting started. Even have up my own forum where me & those who have this game can post at. lol And tonight since its Friday, I'll have the NWA Power Hour on TBS just like the old days, where the stars get to beat the crap out of the jobbers. lol 30 years & STILL RAISING HELL LOL
+defianton, So did I. I saw this when it first aired also. This is what it's like to be old and yes it does suck. But not too bad now. I don't remember a video game from the NWA that had Macho Man and Jake Roberts in it. I do remember a video game that the WWF put out that had them in it as a child and teenager. I think that's great that you have old archived NWA shows and a video game. Keep up the good work and keep collecting.
Admiral Sisko Who said anything about it being a video game? LOL No, I happen to own the complete line of the tabletop dice & wrestling card game known as the Superstar Pro Wrestling Game that was advertised in those Bill Apter wrestling magazines in the 1980's All the wrestlers cards are computer generated data based on there actual "In Ring Performance" Its as close as you can get to a actual simulated wrestling match. I bought the very first edition back in 1983 or 84 cant remember. I'd have to check the date on that. But I do know that, over the last 30 years I've been the NWA You can have any of the wrestlers you want, in your federation. Past, present, alive, or deceased, you can have em in your federation. And over the years I also added some NEW & WILD & Crazy match concepts. One of my all time classics, is my Amusement Park Match that takes place at an actual Amusement Park. From the bumper cars, to the fun house, to the shooting gallery, to the putt putt golf course, & I won't even say what can happen on the tilt a whirl ride, we leave no stone un-turned in this wild one. lol I also have my Steel Cage/Barbed Wire match, my Kendo Stick match, my Caribbean Strap match, my 4 Corners Of Hell Steel Cage match, & this year alone, I added the Parking Lot Scuffle match, the Bar Room Brawl match, & the Last One Standing match. And that's just the tip of the iceberg on all my match concepts I've added over the years. My Chicago Street Fight match, can spill outside & we take it to the streets on over to the high school football field where you can be suplexed off the goal post, & then we can head down to the Walmart parking lot & right over to the Car Wash complete with a hot wax. We're some crazy sumbitches. lol Add to all this, my world famous NWA "Torture Tours" & my NWA World Tours, along with the PPVs & the TBS days on the weekends of old, where the stars beat the crap out of the jobbers with the occasional sneak attacks (and yes I have those too) plus having my talents cut there promos & mix in my forum where we can post all the action at, & you have the ingredients of Hell Raising 101 I mean think about it. Where else can you go to raise this much hell & NOT go to jail? lol Its up to you to create all your story lines & angles & to make out your tours & your cards & house shows & PPVs N such. This ain't no video game of simply having matches. That's boring. This is WRESTLING just like the old days. With this game, you LIVE IT, YOU BREATH IT, 24/7 & nothing is overlooked. And best of all, you can still get this game for a great price. FREE!!! You can get FREE downloads of it off the internet. The only thing you cant get, are my NEW match concepts, though I can post em up on my forum upon request, cos far be it for me to ruin anyone's fun for raising some hell. lol I remember a promo I had Freebird Terry Gordy cut one night on Jim Duggan with Gordy saying, "All the guys I know, have there arms wrapped around purdy woman. Duggan wraps his around a 2 by 4 What's that tell ya about the guy?" Or when Steve Austin drove the boss Eric Bischoff through a condemned house in Portland on a bulldozer & Austin got out of the bulldozer & as the walls began to collapse around the boss, Austin yelled over his shoulder, "Medical check on dumb Jackass." lol All of these come to me at the spur of the moment. I figure, ya piss me off, this is what'll happen. My NWA goes live every night. Nothing's never planned. We just hit the stage running & feed off that. But it sure is fun!!!
Macho was the Man.. for my money the Best Ever.. Macho told the story how the snake died a couple days later and there must have been something in his blood ha
Greatest feud of all time. It has literally everything. Length, heat that built and built, swerves where you thought the face was finally past the heel but then the rug gets yanked out. It strung the fans on for months and fans never lost interest. Honestly all pro wrestlers should have to watch that feud in it's entirety, as it's masterclass for both in and out of the ring storytelling. Jake's heel run here was bar none the greatest I've ever seen. And no title was needed to make this feud work. If you are a wrestling fan, and have never seen it in it's entirety, you need to cobble it together and check it out.
@@billblaski9523 I asked him about wrestling with the von Erich's he got pissed we talked a little about Mike Von Erich and we both agreed he didn't want to be a wrestler but Fritz made him. After that he said no more it will just make me mad!!!!
The greatest heel moment of modern wrestling. macho man was one of the most paranoid guys; Macho man was so bad ass that he was the only one that agreed to get bit by the snake.
i remember that moment. that scared the shit out of me as a kid as i thought it was real but now realizing that the snake was defanged but still vicious. the fact that jake was trying to get the snake out of savage was funny. his randy savage impression was hilarious.
I was 14 at the time when this angle surfaced. I remember watching this, when it aired, on WWF Superstars. That was the best angle of 1991, in ALL of Pro wrestling.
Savage was very paranoid. Read Dynamite Kid's book if you don't believe me. In later years though, Savage was known as one of the nicest guys in the business.
A feud between Jake and Sid would have been awesome. This man is one of the all time legends and I'm so glad I grew up in the greatest era of professional wrestling to see him and so many other of his colleagues compete. 🙏💪🤼
This conversation is insane, imagine some one who isn't familiar with wrestling hearing it. It's like the behind the scenes of wrestling is crazier than the actual product and that's even considering "The stuff they made money with oh my god". Jake was crack'n me tf up here
It's such a shit censor too. It's a fucking massive red X across the screen with the word CENSORED in the middle. They could of censored it better than that.

Jake has probably the best Macho Man impression ever!
yea its making me laugh so hard im just running it in a loop hahaha
"Do you really think I'm gonna poison you and take your title?" "Things happen" BEST ANSWER EVER LOL
Jay Lethal is better
Darnell Weslake Jay can do a better overall impression with the mannerisms, but Jake's voice is just as gravelly as Randy's was
Dan Soder is dead on.
"you're not tryin to take the macho man out here are you?" LOL
"Things happen, ya know."
Lol dwl
Paraanoia
Dude, I read your comment at the exact same time he said it!
I don’t doubt this happened for one moment. Lmao it just literally and metaphorically sounds like something macho man would say…RIP macho man!!!
He does a good Macho Man impersonation.
Rockin Nerd spot on AMAZING!
the best I ever heard.
🤣😂🤣😂

Chris D yeah probably the worst of them all

+StuUngar Probably helps that Jake also has a raspy voice, all he has to do really is put more bass in his vocals and hes got it.
oh yeah
So many great things about that interview. The Macho Man impersonation was perfect and the Cobra story was awesome!
Macho Man is easy to impersonate
Can't blame Randy for questoning about the safety of the snake bite.

You're right! The snake could have punctured an artery.
MickyMicky Mike unlikely. Arteries are too deep, though I am unsure as to the fang length cobras have.

I think 1988 is when I stopped watching. Maybe early 90's
Justin Wallace Have you watched it any recently?

Holly shit that macho man impersonation is amazing
that pre attitude Fued between Savage and Jake was intense as hell for the era.

lol. God, I can picture that conversation vividly.
Jake sounded just like Savage!!!
“Cobra bites really don’t hurt ya know...”
Like my dad used to say ‘God damn what a man..’
This is hilarious! I loved Jake's impersonation of Macho!
That is an awsome match and scared the heck out of me as a kid ☺
Lol... "I paint-brushed the shit out of that snake."

Maybe he had cocaine in his blood. You never know.
More likely Macho Man had blood in his Cocaine system.
I have the urge for a slim jim.
The Macho Man lives through Jake the Snake 😂😂😂
I am laughing out loud right now listening and watching Jake do the best Macho Man since the Macho Man!
I remember seeing this when I was a kid. I still turn my head. Vince will do anything to entertain an audience
I saw it as it happened too, I was about 13. I thought "Oh shit, that's bad"!

This angle is probably the greatest angle WWE ever ran. Two master promo guys. Classic.
Love watching his Randy Savage impersonation, spot on.

I can’t believe the snake bite angle and the Warrior locked in Taker’s casket angle happened in the same year and a few months apart
Jake does a good Macho man...but if you listen to the audio without the video he sounds like Stone Cold
Terell yes, he does sound like Stone Cold! Good call!
it's Stone Cold that sounds like Jake.
That was hilarious. Seriously this is one of the funniest interviews I have ever seen.
After listening to one of Savage's shoots (rest his soul), I have no doubt that's exactly what he said to Jake and how it sounded.
