I'm so disappointed she got Sprint and not Field.
Field is literally perfect for her, Ethan doesn't even set Field effects so why did he get it.
Yes, I'm petty and not even giving her the Sprint cake, we had to wait an extra month to be disappointed by this. I hate the excuse of "she has Sync Burst use MPR" as well, not every Kris grid can afford it and relying on it just sucks in general.
They gave Field to Morty despite having 3 uses of Sun pre-MPR at 5/5, they should've given it to Kris as well.
It's not a huge loss because suppport/sprint is a fantastic combo, but it's a bummer they wouldn't give her field. The bulk and extended rain were more needed.
Even aside from the argument that maybe she has enough rain (enough is never enough), Field is just way better for the stats alone. Her bulk isn't very impressive and sprint stats do nothing for her.
All the more reason for the Sprint role. So you can faster sync with your main damage water unit with the rain still up at double power. I really don't think Field would have helped too much with the bulk problem. Overall, if it couldn't be Field, Sprint is the next best role. It still helps her a ton! At least it's not Tech people! Come on!
@@mistv901 DPS still matters though also I prefer when a unit specs more closely to its intended use sure sprint isn't bad but where are her sync ramping options is a one and done really that useful? Also field would fix her issue of not having rain up after sync, she uses rain turn one so she can stack SMUN with her TM, but right after she syncs rain isn't up anymore so you lose turns reapplying it.
@migu6528 I'll give you the unit specs point and the lack of sync ramp up tiles. But since she isn't tanking anyway, you could just put Adrenaline 1 or Head Start 1 on her in place of Viglance to help with that. I'm just saying Sprint still helps her a lot. And she's still one of my favorite sync pairs in the whole game. She isn't ruined by this by any means and is still a main top weather support.

@a_drill_eggs3416 I don't know if you have SS Ethan, but his Field role works really well. What his sync doesn't take out, his AOE move does with the Field boost. And using his field together with NC Cheren is crazy fun damage. Again, I don't agree.
They better redeem her in her grid expansion making it so that she summons rain after every sync 😒
Love this unit. Field would have been great for the stats and freeing up move selections to not keep rain up, as well as giving value for Battle Rally.... Sprint is still powerful but its a shame we didnt see all the Johto SS MC units all get Field for consistency.
I've been waiting for this for a long time. Barring something insane next month I'm going for her.
Every time I run a full water team I'm reminded of how badly I need a good water support.
Still mad she didn't get field cuz like why did Ethan get it and not her? But sprint is cool at least although I already have like 5 supports with the sprint role 😑
At first I was unhappy she wasn't field to join Ethan and Lyra, but after thinking about it, nah this is way better. I love using Support/Sprint, easily my favorite ex role combo. I never need more rain than I get from her MPR and sync burst mp refresh
It’s not really about more rain, it’s about one instance of extended rain. For me at least.

Honestly, I wonder if they made her Sprint due to Sync Burst effectively allowing her to set rain 3 times without any Mp refreshes, since Field characters at most can set their weathers/zones/terrains only 3 times without MP refreshes
So Kris would end up being able to set Rain 4 times with a Field EX role without any MP refresh, which they probably felt may a bit much? Unless I may be forgetting a setter who can indeed set their main thing 4 times without any MP refresh, in which case I apologize
It's not that common, but just a few examples:
SS Morty has Sunburst at 5/5, which gives him 3 sets of Sun w/o MPR, and they gave him EX-R Field for a 4th guaranteed set.
TRed gets Max Conductivity at 3/5 for 3 sets of ET (he doesn't get MPR on ET anyway, though), and they gave him EX-R Field for a 4th guaranteed set.
There were basically these two as the biggest precedents for SS Kris to get Field as well (to match the rest of her trio as well), so that's why it just feels odd/off-putting/awkward/etc. for her to be different.
On the flipside, she kinda matches NC Silver now, but idk if ppl considered him part of like a Johto Master Fair quartet or anything like that.
