Love how back in the 90s and 2000s people complained about games and the negative influences they have on children, and gamer's response was parents need to take responsibilty and watch what their kids do instead blaming games for it, but now come loot boxes gamers have evolved into the parents of the 90s and 2000s.
Player from The Netherlands here. While The Netherlands (and Belgium) are more strict in lootbox mechanics our country is currently also in the progress of implementing laws that would require Timi to remove the entire gems system from the game. basically the law would say no systems are allowed that would remove the sense of people spending actual money (aka gems) on items and instead people should be able to purchase said items with actual money. also in that law package is more consumer rights advocating for people to have to be able to return items within a 14 day period for a (full) refund (in line with already existing dutch consumer laws). The thing is that The Netherlands is also trying to get these laws implemented through the European Union, which if it succeeds is going to be a real hell hole for Timi to respond to. But as a dutch player its been fun playing pokemon unite (while were still able to). its sad to see that all time and money i spend on this game is going to go to waste (i surely hope not being deleted) just because Timi wants to implement, keep and expand these predatory mechanics. Lets just hope we succeed in getting our laws approved in the European Union so Timi cant simply ignore an entire region. Id really hope youre not actually planning on removing this video as in my opinion Timi really needs to be called out on these terrible practices.
I'm a Dutch player too and to be honest I don't really care for this even but what I DO care about is the fact that these incoming laws might make it hard to enjoy these games or even play them at all
Dutchie here too. I think it should be limited just for kids, if there is a way to implement that. I’m very well with money, I spent 10-15 euros on Unite. It really sucks that things are so limited here in the Netherlands. Also, they keep the casinos open in this country. How does that make sense?

Thanks for info. I think going with EU for this is a good decision, the only way to really make a difference, small market will never force a company to do something, they will just cut the market at all.
@@WOTM8I love the gameplay of Pokemon Unite. I hate the greedy company that ruins the great gameplay with overpriced cosmetics (that aren’t even good compared to other games) and decides to completely axe a part of their already declining player based just so they can introduce predatory gacha systems. @@--Glory-- so true I love pokemon games as well but the pokemon company as known as the developers want to more paid.... They just want drained out all our money , I hate this... I hate the company people doing a bad decision and ruin a great game 😢
I have and will spend money on this game to get holowear. I'm NOT going to spend money for the CHANCE to get holowear. I spend money on things i enjoy but i can't do this.
Exactly, I've been a f2p player for years, and I've had many thoughts about spending money on this game, but every time I think about it, it's never worth it. Spending more than $10 just for a skin that might get old after a while or even just a chance for a skin. Idk, honestly. This game has a lot of potential, but the company running this doesn't know what their doing.
I mean you will eventually get this holowear since you keep getting these tickets, with 300 you can exchange them for the holowear....but yeah, if you aren't lucky to get a bunch of these, this can take ages and spending money in order to make it faster would cost a LOT.
@@luckysqueaks984 That would be nice if that was the case but unfortunately the event has a 20 day time limit so unless you are one of the lucky few who gets it on the .02% chance you will run out of time if you don't spend gems to speed the process up.
@@WhiteLightnin38 well the boxes can also contain a bunch of tickets (up to 100) with a higher chance, but it's still a low chance. I was surprised to see it only last 20 days, this will make it as good as impossible to earn it without spending money, mainly because the tier 4 boxes already take a whole day to open. I'm pretty sure it will be the exact same with the pikachu holowear afterwards, I hope they change it in the future to give at least much more time or more tickets.
I’m surprised Game Freak, Nintendo, and the Pokémon company aren’t stepping in, this cheapens their brand, Pokémon has good will and is known for being kid friendly, and this is not kid friendly.
Iam wondering this as well. Unless they simply dont know and the actuall backlash comes afterwards when the majority that doesnt read or pay attention in Belgium and the Netherlands suddenly cant play anymore.
@@kuroginava8498 I hate to break it to you but everything that this awesome Noble company has done has always been with the mindset that we get the shorter end of the stick. No, Its not that bad if you just actually do the challenge wait it out and spend minimal gems... You will get so many tickets just Playing and unlocking low tier chests...
After booting Belgium and the Netherlands, it's kind of ironic the game's called Pokemon Unite. They should call it Pokemon Divide (due to predatory gacha).
Maybe that's why players keep using their unite moves at 2:30 😂😂 jokes aside this is horrible because if the game continues down this path its only a matter of time before it starts targeting the other big countries
I've always called it pokemon divorce. The company is the crazy ex who keeps trying to get back against the players, even if they did nothing wrong. It's honestly sad
Watching how upset Spragels got about this really made me take notice. You can really see how much this bothered him. It's as if the B-tier grew legs, showed up at his house, moved in and kicked him out of his own bedroom. Never apologize for speaking out about this stuff, Cowboy. Unite has been getting kind of nasty lately and they deserve to be called out for it. If people feel strongly about it, they could always pull an Ahri and just ban Sylveon every game...
The fact that this gacha system is predatory enough that they're pulling the game from two countries it was released in is INSANE. Like that's what should tell you their priorities, and how this might just be the beginning.
@@GabrielV.-wk4xyit’s predatory because it is essentially gambling. You know Mega Millions or Powerball? People pay money to have the chance to get millions of dollars, but the money that some spend to achieve that can be cheap for some lucky few, or up to tens of thousands of dollars for those more unfortunate. This is the same thing that takes place at lottery machines in casinos to get you to spend more.
@@GabrielV.-wk4xy Gerally speaking, Gacha is built on Gambling with REAL money. With each "10" pull costing at a minimun, 15 US Dollars. That is for a LESS than a 1% chance of pulling the character you want. The chances are not just astronomically low, this things usually have Duplicates or other high rarity filler. This is the same as letting children into casinos. It doesn't matter how little each pull costs, the whole thing is designed to be a money sync that requires a million pulls. Anything that has Gachas/Lootboxes is inherently predatory. This is true TCGs too, mind you.
I stopped playing this game a long time ago, purely because I hated the events. They aren’t fun, they’re just predatory. And it’s a real shame, because the game itself is so fun.
@@47slograthese events are designed in a way that makes you want to participate in them and triggering FOMO. There are psychologists working on this game to put mechanics in place the human brain is just not built to deal with. There’s a reason these kinds of things exist and making these companies insane amounts of money. Educate yourself because it’s you who sounds stupid.
@@47slogra That sounds stupid. Calling someone else stupid because they don't like a game they play exclusively and intentionally releasing events that are only catered to people who either no life the game or fork over money to advance, or in some cases outright being inaccessible to people who don't pay unless you only want the worst, most insignificant rewards. You didn't think that one through much, did you?
@@47slogra I know they were optional, but I was constantly getting the feeling of missing things, which is a terrible feeling. It ruined my time with the game. I’d rather not play altogether.
the events are the best part because they are free, ho-oh was super easy to get because of panic parade but they do suck for the most part with a lack of overall content
It's the most convoluted and deceptive way to get players to pay for content in Unite so far. I'm a whale and I even think it's very poorly designed and implemented. They need to simplify it and make the costs more transparent.
Honest to god I hate the way cosmetics and battle passes work in 99% of games nowadays, but I agree. I'd prefer they just put up like 3 exclusive 100 dollar skins every season rather than having this bs in the game. Just be upfront about what you're trying to get and plenty of players will buy it. Devastating to be losing players to this.
I say this all the time. OVERWATCH (the original game) and BLACK OPS 2, were the only two games to ever get microtransactions correct. Events in OW1 actually had EARNABLE SKINS and then after the fact you could spend real money to get them until they vaulted them. Oh but wait! There’s more! They would RE-INTRODUCE the skins periodically later on so you could grab them if you missed them. So the skin was always available, but you had an opportunity to get them super early on if you played events. Idk how games looked at the models from those games and the associated profits and didn’t see that they were fine. They have somehow only gotten worse and more predatory and people somehow don’t notice
You're speaking for the people man.. great job. Why can't they be like Clash of Clans man.. how stupid to do this when theres already a success story doing the better way. CoC introduced the highest monetization ever just now but they were upfront about it.. and people buy it.

@@47slogra The difference, I guess, is that with booster packs while it's gambling, you're getting a physical product at the end of the day. As long as you look after what you've got, you'll keep it. Skins in a game aren't really something you own - that data is going to be gone someday. Gambling on something that's not even physical and has no sense of permanence to it is worse than something like buying a booster pack - though I agree that buying boosters sucks too. It's why I tend to just buy single cards online, at least I know what I have to pay to get those.
The only possible reason I can think of for the bizarre design is some kind of attempt at trying to sucker you into thinking you have a better chance than you actually do

@@Skyrus646I don’t think that’s true, I wouldn’t be surprised if them raising prices like this is because they know Pokemon Unite is declining in player-base and they want to milk it for what its worth before it goes offline. It seems awfully convenient that within the span of just a couple months we’ve had all these paid mini battle passes, a decrease in value of the subscription, and increase in price of the battle pass, and now this. At the very least this is their last effort to milk money out of Pokemon Unite as we know it before they make a sort of “reboot” to the Chinese version to revive interest in the game.
Yeah it's a shitty system with terrible rewards, but you still spent money. As bad as it might be, there's a lot of people throwing money at it because they just like the pokemon. Frankly I wish the world would follow Belgium's steps and crack down on loot boxes. They're just bad for everyone
Honestly loot boxes in gaming were the best now every little thing you want in a game is stuck behind a pay wall instead of actually grinding for lootboxes to potentially have a chance at something cool.
Saved around 4k gems for this holowear, but after trying a couple of times opening the boxes I gave up, it's so shitty for a game to use this kind of system to unlock a cosmetic, I'll just spend the gem remains on bp or anniversary discounts if they don't plan to change their mind about this There are a lot of mobile games that have the minimal respect for their customers unlike Timi's clowns
As a dutch player (and supporter), this makes me very sad. I spend money on new pokemon licenses quite often because I like playing with new pokemon. Really did love this game, so I hate to see them doing me like this.
Hopefully more countries adopt the laws like Belgium and the Netherlands that protect their gamers by banning gambling in video games. Thats the only way we will stop this from happening in the gaming world.
So you want TCG to be banned as well? Booster packs are gambling. Amazing how you wish your goverment to babysit you because apparently people are too stupid to not spend money
Ive been in and out of this game so many times for so many reasons. I love pokemon and I love the game mechanics. Everytning else I feel like im playing inspite of... I dont play games to feel exhausted afterwards; I play them after im exhausted... This is just another small nail in the coffin for me
I never expected Jake to actually call out the games wrongs like this, usually if somebody's livelihood depends on a singular thing they wouldn't critique that thing like this. But Jake does, and that's what I like about him, good on you.
Wait what NOOOO i.m from the Netherlands. And I literally bought a switch to just play this game !!!!! I played this game sinds the beta and spend like 600€+ on this game in total
The thing a sane person would do is look at how much money they are willing to spend per month/season and stick to it. Do you really need a costume or pokemon you will get bored of? Games like this run on FOMO. And half the time you wait long enough and they will give you the item for F2P or in a reworked event a year from now. The less people fall for this...the less they will do it.
@@MHzappy Exactly. I see avatar items I want (like the Goodra set)...I won't buy it though. I will wait until it is discounted and tied with an event where you get a 1 time daily decrease in the premium currency cost (like with Ho-Oh), buy the smallest amount of that and save and buy it.
I've deleted the game even after spending some ~50 bucks. I always refrained myself from spending more because I knew either the game would die or I would leave it. Seems like both are a reality 😂😂
Luckily we have the option to just ignore the event entirely, which is exactly what I am choosing to do. The holowear is truly beautiful but the overall cringe-factor of what they are putting people through to get it seems to be a new low for timi.
At least the prize machine had simple math behind these odds and you could easily estimate how much it'd cost you to claim an item. This new system is made specifically to be as confusing and predatory on gambling addicts as possible
I guess that's the end of Pokemon Unite for me. Started playing a few weeks ago, got to masters really enjoyed the game and now I legit won't be able to play so might as well quit now lol
Having not really playing this game, I've quit other games for this, shadowverse being one of the most heartbreaking. They had a Hatsune Miku collab, which was probably their 30th collab. But it was the first one where they locked a character being gacha. Characters are effectively cosmetic, but they really went from a system where I bought characters cause "maybe they'll fit the aesthetic of a future deck" to "welp I guess I'll never be able to own this, I'm over it now". I didn't even notice I quit until writing this, I just noticed now thinking of obnoxious systems lol

Well, bye Jake (and this entire community). Apparently, this company cares more about reeling in a few whales than their entire player base in two countries. It's been a good run, and I loved watching your content and being in chat.
I have been trying to get good enough to play in tournaments... But i guess as I live in the netherlands i won't be able to participate any more... I am not angery at the gambling law. I am angery at unite... Unite has genuinely been one of my favorite games I am one of those players who has been plaging it almost every day. I filled in so many servays... To try and help the game. I really hope they change some things. Please can we all try to talk to them.
That Sylveon holowear is essentially gambling with the lootbox low %.This is so scummy and digusting disservice to us especially after worlds. I’m really looking forward to Pokemon Pockets world release end of October. I’ve been glued to your live content on it and I’m excited to play.
Removing the gamecorner in pkmn remakes because its an introduction to gambling but putting actual gambling into pkmn games in form of gatcha mechanic🤔
Former player here, randomly got this recommended to me. Hi again spragels, I missed you! I left years ago cause I just disagreed too much with what TiMi/Pokemon were doing with the game (balance ofc, lack of communication, disagreements in game/MOBA design philosophy) and cause playing the game was more infuriating than fun, which was hard to admit. I was so excited for this game and what it could've been but I felt let down over and over again. Sad to see that little has changed
The monetization is increasing but the value of the game has stayed the same. Unless we're getting the full CN version with bonus content, this is pretty awful. Also agreed with the bad box design, worse than the prize machine where you get nothing until the pity, now you have to work for getting nothing instead of "click the button". Really awful people losing their accounts for this, sucks man.
I never paid for pokemon unite but i recently just stopped playing. They don't deserve my business, the devs will never get better, and the only redeeming factor is the gameplay.
Dutch person here. I hate Timi now completely. Luckily I have a VPN but this is just so unbelievably stupid and frustrating! I’ve been playing this game for 3 years straight with one friend, grinding away every season! Timi what is wrong with you?!
As a day 1 Dutch player with 2,100+ hours in the game, I'm really sad with this news. Already locked out of events, lost all motivation to even play til the end date
Serious question... aren't there any competitive teams that participate at tournaments/Worlds that are from Belgium and Netherlands? What'll be going on for them? Like... wtf Timi, they'd rather lose somewhat of a niche of players than removing their predatory system, sheesh
Gatcha system? More like gotcha system. Ps, keep the vid, they need to hear it from people like you, the ones who ate gonna spend the money and make them the profit
This just sucks so much… I’m from the Netherlands and have been playing since season 3, I was finally having fun with the game again since the meta is at least playable rn especially compared to Mewtwo and zacian just to have my fun ripped away because timi wants to throw in gambling as a form of extra monetization :
I wish Tencent placed a bigger emphasis on getting more players. More players would help matchmaking which would make the game more fun, and then you might pick up a whale or two. As it is, I have wayyyy too many bot matches, so I would welcome new players or expanding matchmaking. A confusing system like this bugs me because I feel like the whole intent of this event is to gouge players who still like the game while shooting out a red flag to anyone on the fringe of the game. I can see where Belgium and the Netherlands are coming from: I don't like this practice at all, especially since I feel like the event's strategy isn't to create a better experience for the players. By the way, a better experience can be as simple as seeing the skin in play; on your team or on your opponent's. I'm all for rewarding the whales of the game. But this feels like its screwing the whales that support the game.
my dutch friend already deleted the game because theres no point to keep playing if it will end soon, the beyond scummy monetization will kill this game
And the hypocrite thing (of atleast the Netherlands, idk about Belgium) is that the Netherlands have heavy gambling adds on TV and other media Maybe the difference is that Pokémon Unite is considered a kids game, but it still feels so double. It's still gambling. And like Jake said, there are also other things already in Pokémon Unite that are chance based, but they suddenly draw a line at this? It's a fun game to play but it's still just so weird all this
I miss the online games back in the 90's and early 2000, you pretty much had a f2p store with in game currency and a p2w store where you could buy stuff with money. And it was a store, the item was there, it had a price, if you had the money and you wanted it, you pay and it was yours. It was simple, fair, you knew what you were getting and for how much.
Keep the video up. I was a baby whale when the game released only because I wanted to show interest so that the game could survive (spent $300 in the first month) but I've spent maybe $30 since Zacian came out. I don't see myself spending much more than that. Even for EX events, I found it really tedious not having a direct buy option. I don't want to click the same button 30 times. If it's even more complicated, I won't do it. Don't delete the video, players should know
Jinju, Link and Hunter Speaking: we have a friend that we met through unite, and have been playing with for awhile now. But they live in the Netherlands, and now we won't even be able to play together soon! I always thought pokemon was about making friends, and going for your dreams. But this feels like i just walked into team rockets game corner. 💜🧡
"felt ranty, will delete later" noo bbg u were extra cute spittin facts this video don't delete it 🥺 fr though, i absolutely agree. The pricing enough is already insane and like you said, I understand why they would be pretty pushy with the pricing since it's a free to play and they need whatever they can get from cosmetics. For example consider the difference between a whale spending $100 for a guaranteed cool holowear, vs another spending 25 bucks per box or chance to earn said cool holowear. Think about it, you're spending a good chunk of money for something that's not even guaranteed and the alternate outcomes of rewards are near worthless since you can get em a lot of em just by playing the game. Like yeah spending $100 for holowear as a whale is even more preferrable than having to spend multiple transactions just to get a POSSIBILITY of what they were spending money for. It's not only an expensive process but also a complicated and time consuming one.
I actually think that gacha systems get a bad rap, and Pokemon Unite is FAR FAR from being a particularly bad example of it. However, this system does seem designed to waste your time AND designed to hide the true cost. It's misleading for F2P players but also antagonizing to whales (like spragels). It's just UNFUN.
It’s too expensive now to even get the battle passes. They reduced the gems for monthly memberships, and then the battle passes cost more, and now stuff like this. We had two memberships in our family and we cancelled them. Without fun events where you can do challenges with friends and family, the game is nothing, and our family doesn’t really even want to play anymore because of this. My 15 year old is practically in tears since they actively play Sylveon and they really wanted this. Even a 15 year old understands why they don’t spend real money on fake products.
Thank god I just play this game once a week now. The way this game is being handled is just diabolical. Props to all the people that are still putting up with this company.
Pokemon Unite is fun, but after playing the beta for Dragonball Project Multi.... I can't wait for the full release and put Unite on hiatus for a while. Project Multi is just more action packed and fun! Hopefully Jake does Project Multi content too
1000000% agree with everything you said. It's the greediest thing unite has done so far. The quality of life for not only this event, going through all of the screens to claim daily rewards is terrible. The lag, the bugs, everything is just bad. This is such a big cash grab for the lowest player base in the history of unite. What a joke!
This is just something that makes me want to stop playing. Their decisions have been so insulting it legitimately sucks the fun out of my experience. I can't play with my friend after November, it's really horrible..
I won’t be playing the game so long as stuff like this is going on, it’s so predatory. The only good way to signal bad direction is for people to stop playing in mass, and if this keeps up, I’m guessing that’ll happen naturally
DO NOT REMIVE THIS VIDEO. I’m glad you are speaking out on it. This is NOT ok. From devaluing existing products like the Membership Club exclusive skins to the Battle Pass being 200 gems more expensive now whilst taking away aeos coins and other items from it… What are we doing, Unite? Wtf are we doing. Lots of players understand your frustration. Convoluted for no reason.

I dropped this game ages ago, and im not surprised to find it's continuing to go down the shitter. The idea of a Pokemon MOBA is amazing. The way this Pokemon MOBA is handled is absolute garbage.
This is the most egregious event ever. The fact TiMi took support offline for regions where lootboxes are banned rather than change the event is scummy. This is the scummiest thing ever and hurts the game
Thank you random stranger on the internet for inspiring me to do the same. This game is like a toxic relationship that I've been settling for way too long. It's time to bid my farewell and spend my precious time elsewhere.
My Hero Ultra Rumble takes 6 months for a free to play person to get a character, or $600 for a whale to get it instantly. There are worse systems, but this is still very low
You still play ultra rumble? The deku strike kit and twice coming with no gacha changes made me quit playing real fast. I also hated aimbot and was happy when they made aimbot aim assist but then they had to change it back due to babies that couldn't aim and wanted others to not be allowed to aim and lead shots with some ease like other shooter or BR games which leads to aiming being awful and it being better playing without the assist as with assist you will miss shots 8/10 times because leading shots is how you hit a mobile target too bad no one understood that or how aim assist is supposed to work.
I quit Ultra Rumble 6 months ago because of how bad the dailies/weeklies were to complete. If you aren't super good at the game, it takes forever to get them done. Aim assist strength being increased was a good change, and yeah the gacha system has been bad and they refuse to fix it
Thanks for this video, it warms my heart that you made it to give more visibility how bad it’s getting. I’m really sad because I’m from Netherlands and I won’t be able to play anymore and may lose my account with all battle pass that I bought (I have all since day 1). 😢

I'm a Dutch player too and to be honest I don't really care for this even but what I DO care about is the fact that these incoming laws might make it hard to enjoy these games or even play them at all
Totally agree with you bro
Dutchie here too. I think it should be limited just for kids, if there is a way to implement that. I’m very well with money, I spent 10-15 euros on Unite. It really sucks that things are so limited here in the Netherlands. Also, they keep the casinos open in this country. How does that make sense?
@@GinoNL yeah thats what I've been thinking too.. casino's are a way bigger trap than digital purchases will ever be
Thanks for info. I think going with EU for this is a good decision, the only way to really make a difference, small market will never force a company to do something, they will just cut the market at all.
It’s a shame I love this game because I absolutely hate this company

@@WOTM8 it does

I hate the greedy company that ruins the great gameplay with overpriced cosmetics (that aren’t even good compared to other games) and decides to completely axe a part of their already declining player based just so they can introduce predatory gacha systems.
The two are not mutually exclusive.
@@--Glory-- so true I love pokemon games as well but the pokemon company as known as the developers want to more paid....
They just want drained out all our money , I hate this... I hate the company people doing a bad decision and ruin a great game 😢

Season 1 peak
Remember the last time they updated the selection the Holowear you can buy with in-game currency?
They don’t even give the ugly McDonald’s hollowear for free
Remwmber when they gave us cinderace season pass skin for free?
Remember Holowear tickets? Man...
@good_applegg2020 I've spent around 30-40 pounds for 3 years which is pretty good. Tbh, during gem sales only
I mean you will eventually get this holowear since you keep getting these tickets, with 300 you can exchange them for the holowear....but yeah, if you aren't lucky to get a bunch of these, this can take ages and spending money in order to make it faster would cost a LOT.
Remember how the gamecorner was removed in remakes because it introduces gambling but now they put in actual gambling in gatcha form
At this point I wouldn't be surprised if Game Freak was one of the main proponents of this...
Iam wondering this as well. Unless they simply dont know and the actuall backlash comes afterwards when the majority that doesnt read or pay attention in Belgium and the Netherlands suddenly cant play anymore.
They probably do not have much of a say in what happens to Unite in specific I'd guess, Tencent is huge
@@kuroginava8498 I hate to break it to you but everything that this awesome Noble company has done has always been with the mindset that we get the shorter end of the stick. The game corner was only removed so they could continue to make millions rather than to effectively cut out 70% of audience. If the game corner could stay while it keeps it's rating, it would be done. The pokemon company only makes edits and changes in that context due to Europe.... After booting Belgium and the Netherlands, it's kind of ironic the game's called Pokemon Unite. They should call it Pokemon Divide (due to predatory gacha).
Maybe that's why players keep using their unite moves at 2:30 😂😂 jokes aside this is horrible because if the game continues down this path its only a matter of time before it starts targeting the other big countries
honestly yea.
a game with "unite" in the title that kicks part of its playerbase in favor of money
that is... rich☠️☠️☠️
All while talking about their ´global release´
"Predatory Gatcha" is such a redundant phrase. I don't know a single gatcha game that ISN'T predatory.
If people feel strongly about it, they could always pull an Ahri and just ban Sylveon every game...
never delete your videos spragels every single one is a masterpiece 🥺
lol honey
Although I do really respect how he's willing to delete a video that seems much more ranty than usual.
The fact that this gacha system is predatory enough that they're pulling the game from two countries it was released in is INSANE. Like that's what should tell you their priorities, and how this might just be the beginning.
I don't mean for this comment to sound ignorant, but how is the gacha system predatory? How much do the transactions cost?
Nah throw the whole event away
"Pokémon UNITE is ending it's service in Belgium."
I'm getting Pokémon Duel PTSD right now. I might ramble about it....
I stopped playing this game a long time ago, purely because I hated the events. They aren’t fun, they’re just predatory. And it’s a real shame, because the game itself is so fun.
That sounds stupid.
I stopped playing the game I found fun because it has optional events that I don't need to do that I don't like
@@47slograthese events are designed in a way that makes you want to participate in them and triggering FOMO.
I’d rather not play altogether.
the events are the best part because they are free, ho-oh was super easy to get because of panic parade
but they do suck for the most part with a lack of overall content
It's the most convoluted and deceptive way to get players to pay for content in Unite so far. I'm a whale and I even think it's very poorly designed and implemented. They need to simplify it and make the costs more transparent.
I feel like I know your username in the game, and we are friends on the game and discord
If you know you're a whale, why are you a whale? It's strictly a bad thing for you and everyone else, so why do it?
Players from Belgium and the Netherlands, we will miss you :'c
They can live peacefully now
man I was worried pokemon suspended Spragels 😂
Would show TImi's true colors really, if they did
(The color is red, if you are wondering).
If you’re not fighting the problem then you are part of the problem.
Pls keep making these videos, you make this world a better place, by telling the truth ❤.

I don't care, I simply won't get it.
As far as I know neither those countries don't ban booster packs on TCG so they only care to attack games.
There's too many things to fight for brother....
A noble fight, but one I cannot partake in
@@47slogra The difference, I guess, is that with booster packs while it's gambling, you're getting a physical product at the end of the day.

@@Skyrus646 Good thing Dragonball Moba is coming around possibly next year. Beta was fun
I hope Unite doesn't get shut down, but the writing is on the wall...

Saved around 4k gems for this holowear, but after trying a couple of times opening the boxes I gave up, it's so shitty for a game to use this kind of system to unlock a cosmetic, I'll just spend the gem remains on bp or anniversary discounts if they don't plan to change their mind about this

The amount of micro transactions in Pokémon unite is really turning me off about this game.
Your fault if you actually buy anything

I don’t usually spend money in games, at minimum 20$-30$? But I can’t see this being enjoyable 😭 like at ALL. It doesn’t even seem worth it..

General rule of thumb: if a game is not releasing in Belgium and the Netherlands, it is pretty much guaranteed to be predatory.
You can blame “Yuki Gabe” the actual producer for this trash!
What would we do without Jake. He literally speaking for the community of Pokemon UNITE lovers. Appreciate it.
You are 100% right man, the way this is implemented is so bizzare
I don't even plan on interacting with the system
The devs:
We’re poorrrr give us moneyyy nowwww
Remember the Pokemon company is a small indie company
I think this is the start of the games slow termination ngl, I can see this leading to the entire game being shut down in a few years
Gatcha system?

And the hypocrite thing (of atleast the Netherlands, idk about Belgium) is that the Netherlands have heavy gambling adds on TV and other media
Maybe the difference is that Pokémon Unite is considered a kids game, but it still feels so double. It's still gambling. And like Jake said, there are also other things already in Pokémon Unite that are chance based, but they suddenly draw a line at this?
It's a fun game to play but it's still just so weird all this
Gambling in casinos isnt for kids that's why thats legal.
8:15 its probably because they want to have you play regularly and getting the Holowear would be a reflection of your dedication to the game.
Don't delete the video, players should know
Jinju, Link and Hunter Speaking:
we have a friend that we met through unite, and have been playing with for awhile now. But they live in the Netherlands, and now we won't even be able to play together soon!

"felt ranty, will delete later"
noo bbg u were extra cute spittin facts this video don't delete it 🥺
fr though, i absolutely agree.
Take a look at Star Wars hunters. They give you cosmetics for just playing the game. It is so simple over there.
Jake, you keep calling the business "weird", but the word you're looking for is "predatory".
I mean if he's a part of the problem by being a "whale" then I don't believe he'd know that he's even talking about anyways.
Hok had a gacha event . Way easier to get the legendary anime skin and it had other skins In the gacha including legendaries.
It just feels Timi or whoever is taking advantage of the pokemom IP, let's be honest .
I'm from the netherlands and i play this game since it came out and when me and my GF found out this game is going to stop. We just were so upset. Like i love this game and we love this game. I just have a bit of hope that they will change this bcs of all the backlash. Bcs i still want to play this game
this is sad as a dutch fan
I dropped this game ages ago, and im not surprised to find it's continuing to go down the shitter. The idea of a Pokemon MOBA is amazing. The way this Pokemon MOBA is handled is absolute garbage.
This is the most egregious event ever. The fact TiMi took support offline for regions where lootboxes are banned rather than change the event is scummy. This is the scummiest thing ever and hurts the game
Love to see a video on best lane partners who work well together. Synergies.
Timi literally become buzzwole to players.
🙌🙌🙌
Leech Life Savings
I haven't played in a while, but I am from the Netherlands, so I guess it's time for me to quit forever.
Deleted this game yesterday. There are many better games.
Thank you random stranger on the internet for inspiring me to do the same. This game is like a toxic relationship that I've been settling for way too long. It's time to bid my farewell and spend my precious time elsewhere.

The Pokemon company should be responding to this because this is awful to what Tencent is doing to this IP
It's probably the other way around actually. Look at what else timi has done in HoK and it's clear that something else outside of them is going on.
I mean they do make pokemon look bad as well..
My Hero Ultra Rumble takes 6 months for a free to play person to get a character, or $600 for a whale to get it instantly. There are worse systems, but this is still very low
Having worse gacha systems from other games does not mean this is okay
Absolutely not! I just wanted to point out Jake was right about other gachas being bad
Onestly gatcha should have never been allowed in games in the first place
I quit Ultra Rumble 6 months ago because of how bad the dailies/weeklies were to complete. If you aren't super good at the game, it takes forever to get them done. Aim assist strength being increased was a good change, and yeah the gacha system has been bad and they refuse to fix it
This is the greatest thumbnail I've ever seen. We're gunna need more thumbnails of Spraygalls mid talking.
Thanks for this video, it warms my heart that you made it to give more visibility how bad it’s getting. I’m really sad because I’m from Netherlands and I won’t be able to play anymore and may lose my account with all battle pass that I bought (I have all since day 1). 😢
We are here from the live ❤😂😂😂
