I had a queen Iridomyrmex cf bicknelli Ant setup shop under a beanie on my desk a couple of weeks ago. I had noticed that there were quite a few ants crawling around my desk in the days prior but thought they were coming through my window. It was only after I picked up my beanie that I saw the thousands of ants under it with heaps of eggs and larvae and what I think was the queen because it was much bigger than the rest and instantly darted away and hid while the workers didn't move at all. It was weird.

How to get some worker ants into your house: 🏠 🐜
    1. Get food (any kind of food)
    2. Crumble up the food into crumbs.
    3. Wait for some hours.(minutes, seconds or days.)
    4. Watch the ants come into your house! 🏠 🐜
How to make them a home:
    1. Get a plastic bottle,scissors,hot glue,and sand/dirt!
    2. Cut the bottle in half with the scissors. ✂️
    3. Make sure your phome lets air through it.
    4. Cut the phome into a circle.
    5. Use the extra part for a rectangle.
    6. Hot glue the rectangle onto the circle.
    7. While the hot glue dries,Fill the bottle up with your sand/dirt. (Fill it up halfway!)
    8. Put the ants you found into the bottle of sand/dirt.
    9. Put the phome cap on.
    10. Watch your colony grow!

I caught a bullant carrying a dead cockroach. I didnt have macro lens at the time, and I didnt know what a queen bullant looked like.
So I let her go, and when I came home see the pic properly on my phone, I think it looks like a queen when compared to youtube bullant queens
I felt extremely disappointed in myself.
The same day I caught the green metallic queen ant. She popped a few eggs and after 2 weeks of keeping her and feeding her earthworms for protein, I let her go because I thought I wasnt giving her enough care as my hobby was focused on something else.
Now I wish I kept her.

sure! Sometimes you are just searching on the wrong day :) stay persistent! I thought I wouldn’t find any last year, after searching for a few days in a row, but ended up catching over 15 in one day! Ants are everywhere, sometimes you just can’t see them, but sure, if there are places with more ants you can search there instead!
