Good grief this list makes me realize just how few good films are being made today compared to the past. Deadman would be my #1 of 1995 a masterpiece I watch every 3 or 4 years.
My top 10 for 1995 10. Billy Madison 9. Tommy Boy 8. Hackers 7. Grumpier Old Men 6. Copycat 5. Strange Days 4. 12 Monkeys 3. Braveheart 2. Jumanji 1. Die Hard With A Vengeance
Cool list! First time I’ve heard anyone mention Copycat. It was one of the earlier movies I found as a dvd. Bought it cheap not knowing what it was. Was pretty good.
Tommy Boy is the greatest buddy comedy of all time. RIP Chris Farley, you made us all laugh so hard and at the same time make us happy that we're alive
My 20 20. Fallen Angels - 19. La Haine 18. Welcome To The Dollhouse 17. Sense and Sensibility 16. The Addiction 15. Ulysses' Gaze 14. Leaving Las Vegas 13. Les Miserables 12. The Usual Suspects 11. Antonia's Line 10. Blue in The Face 9. Braveheart 8. Safe 7. Smoke 6. Before Sunrise 5. Underground 4. Heat 3. The White Balloon 2. The Bridges of Madison County 1. Se7en
Very strong year. Arthouse big at the time, Angels and Insects & Funny Bones are both largely forgotten and hard to find these days (not sure why), they're also excellent.
I've just discovered your channel and love it. I've now got a massive list of films (mainly foreign) to watch and loads more of your vids to get through yet.
A glorious year for movies! + 'Kjærlighetens Kjøtere' (Zero Kelvin) from Norway and Palm de Palme d'Or winner 'Underground' from Yugoslavia and Sense and Sensibility, at least for a mention...and there are more, but all in all you made a great video dude!
This a great list, as usual, but i would have to find room for Woody Allen's terrific Bullet's over Broadway and the criminally underrated Devil in a Blue Dress
Bullets Over Broadway was released in the US in 1994 so I put it that list. Love it that movie. I definitely should have mentioned Devil In A Blue Dress in this vid though!
Dead Presidents, Friday, and Higher Learning were all great. I also liked Money Train which reunited Snipes and Harrelson plus you add J-Lo and Robert Blake -- very fun flick.
My top ten for now: 10. A Goofy Movie 9. Babe 8. Godzilla vs Destoroyah 7. Gamera: Guardian of the Universe 6. Braveheart 5. 12 Monkeys 4. Whisper of the Heart 3. Toy Story 2. Ghost in the Shell 1. Se7en
Great list. I think the only other one I'd add would be Richard III with Ian McKelan. I'll have to check out Safe since that's the only one on your list I haven't seen.
Fortunately cinemas in Hong Kong are very clean, comfortable and people behave so you can sit back relax and really enjoy a great movie. The downside is these days very little gets released here.
How in the Fvck do other movie reviewers have so many more views than your episodes? Not that I've seen all the others but the few others I've seen have a Good amount of views but are nowhere as cool and as interesting or entertaining as you and your picks. Cheers to you
Great list. These are 5 i love from 95.: 5. Seven 4. Halloween 6: The Curse of Michael Myers (Theatrical release) 3. Goldeneye 2. Under Siege 2: Dark Territory 1. Die Hard with a Vengeance
It's only a top 10 I'm afraid. I've started a job with less free time. The gap between the videos is unfortunately going to get bigger. Hopefully the next video will be out in a week or two!
20, huh?? i'll just go with 10, in NO particular order: 1 Toy Story 2 Se7en 3 Get Shorty 4 Braveheart 5 The Usual Suspects 6 Nixon 7 Apollo 13 8 Crimson Tide 9 Die Hard with a Vengeance 10 Welcome to the Dollhouse
Se7en was an amazing film from David Fincher who became a big name in Hollywood with that shocking thriller with it’s horrifying ending Also loved Scorsese’s Casino which I think may have equaled or been slightly better than his earlier gangster classic GoodFellas in terms of it’s expanded scope and focus on the Vegas mafia running things in the shadows at the top of the organised crime food chain. Michael Mann’s Heat was a richly layered cops against robbers drama which fleshed out and developed it’s characters and has since become iconic as one of the best crime dramas of all time, speaking of which this was also a big year for Robert De Niro towards the twilight of his 1970’s-1990’s career run of iconic performances!! 1995 had some pretty iconic films that still hold up super well today and may have even aged like wine!!
TOP 20 FILMS OF 1995: 1. Toy Story 2. Apollo 13 3. Dead Man Walking 4. Leaving Las Vegas 5. Heat 6. The Usual Suspects 7. Se7en 8. Goldeneye 9. Casino 10. Braveheart 11. Before Sunset 12. Babe 13. I finally got to La Haine after seeing your recommendation. what a film! I loved it. I can’t believe I waited so long to get to it. Heat is my #1 for 1995.
Great list! “La Haine” would have to be mu number one, Mathieu Kassovitz never made another good film after that, did he? I really need to check out “Ghost in a Shell” but Shunji Iwai’s “Love Letter” is a Japanese hidden gem.
Safe to say you are not a fan of Almodovar from Spain... I am ex Yugoslav. There's MANY of our regional CLASSICS that i got in my DVD collection that you would love for sure. As they are mostly super strange masterpieces. Like the movies of absolute genius Živko Nikolić.

Wow, that Tommy Lee Jones clip was hilarious. I've never seen that before.
Excellent list! You mentioned all my favorites and gave me some titles to add to the ol' watch list... what could be better?
Great selection
Number 1 for me is the Dutch comedy with Paul de Leeuw entitled "Filmpje". I laughed myself to death in the cinema at the time. Love your videos. 🥰💖❤
Cheers! I'll definitly check Fillmpje out!
Fellow dutch film fan. Filmpje is one hell of a ride.... a really dutch ride.. Paul de Leeuw at his best. But really dirty comedy as well.
@@BloodoperaBlackvomit Oke, you know your movies. "Filmpje" is the nose of the salmon. Loved it!
Good movie indeed. Dutch humorist Paul was great.

I lived in Hong Kong in 2019. Just before everything changed. In a few weeks I'm hoping to do a video about Hong Kong cinema.
“Heat” is not only the best movie of 1995, the best movie by Michael Mann but also the best cops & robbers movie. Terrific story, acting and action.

After all, it WAS the French who turned the mundane word, Bougeouisie, into such a bombastic phrase for the middle-class (businesspeople).

Everything but HEAT, which i find to be dull and childish. Possibly the most over rated film of all time, in my opinion of course. 😊
Die Hard 2 is more fun.
For my money Stephen Baldwin is the third worst actor ever seen in great films. He is truly terrible.
