One day at a time. I can hear the low-ness in your voice. We get it, we understand. Big hugs to you at this difficult time of loss. The clutter will be patient too. ❤
One day, one spot at a time. Thanks for cleaning with me, I did my dishes that I've been avoiding while I watched. Rest assured, those of us that are self-proclaimed "clean freaks" still let things go or let things build up. I just ran my dishwasher this morning after days of not having anything clean because I was having an anxious/lazy week - things pile up for us all. I think you made great progress in the cabinet and I'm sure getting it off your counter feels better. As for the stuff piling up, remember you don't have to do it all at once! Maybe you can pick a quick 5 minutes while you're making a drink or a meal and just put away one certain thing from that pile, and slowly work on it over time. Progress is progress! I hope you are well, I know the losses have been hard. You are still making your doggy and your Mom proud!!
You should be really proud of yourself for continuing to declutter even though you’re grieving. It’s like you said, a little progress is still progress. Well done!
Under the emotional circumstances, I think you’re doing great! The fact that you’re still pushing forward shows your determination for progress. Take care. ❤
You are doing a fantastic job. I'm sending positive thoughts and care to you. One shelf at a time is the best way to go. Take care of yourself! Everyone grieves in different ways.
2015 I went through a pretty tough break up. There is a blank space of about 12 weeks in my memory. I have no idea what happenend in this time period, the only thing I remember is that I purged tons of stuff from my home. I didn't do anything else except for going to the gym once a week. I only ate once a day, too, so I lost about 12 kg / 26 lbs. Most of the stuff I posted online for free, so I guess I managed a lot of pick ups, but I don't fully remember. I am so sorry for your loss, Mira. Times like these when your soul is bleeding can actually be a great time to be ruthless about the clutter in your home. But you definitely have to take it one day at a time.
I would love to see a total count of how many times you giggled at yourself as part of your stats.😂😂 You are a joy, and meeting you this year was one of the highlights of 2023 for me.😊❤ I'm so sorry about all of the rough stuff you went through this year. You've tackled a lot of mountains this year, both literally and figuratively, and I am wishing you and Clay the best 2024 ever! Love you, my sweet Mira!❤❤❤
I think the counter would break before the tally was reached. 😂 Meeting you was 100% one of my highlights too! Can't wait to see you next year and see all the great things you are up to until I see you again. Love you! ❤
👍 Small spaces are the perfect thing to do when you are dealing with a lot on your mind and heart. Your still moving FORWARD and that counts too! Also- it is lovely to see you with space on that beautiful table to use and enjoy. 👍💟🐾😁🦋
I think it's great that you're actually still at it even when you are feeling low. Sometimes having something else to focus on helps. Two areas done, are two areas done! I have had some times where things were difficult and sometimes I'd just redo a drawer or shelf. I think it's good for us mentally to feel like we're still moving forward.
Doing even one thing is progress…and you did more! I have a saying when I am struggling…One and Done…which means to me, one thing done that I won’t have to repeat.
Almost a decade ago I lost my 13 year old dog just ten days before I lost my 38 year old brother. It was quite the double whammy and took the whole family some time to return to any semblance of normal. Seems like you're managing a good balance of giving yourself grace and time but not just letting everything slide like it so easily could. Day by day, step by step, its how we all get through life
I am very sorry for your loss. I love it that you did not loose your sense of humour in these difficult times. You should pat yourself on the back for continuing to declutter small spaces at the time in times of grief. It probably helps you to get through the day better. I am enjoying every single video of you, it gives me so much motivation to declutter something today.
Mira, I watched this video and instead of refilling my coffee cup and readung, I was motivated to declutter a dresser top. It's not perfect, but papers tossed/filed and top organized and dusted. Thank you for the motivation!
I am very sorry to hear a out your sweet dog Cupid & of course your sweet mom. You are a very sweet person. I love your videos. I'm glad you could still tackle decluttering after so much loss in your life. I wish you well, Mira. I love your name by the way.❤😭
I know its hard to lose such dear family during such a short period of time. I know they were part of the beginning of your journey and I know they will continue to be a part of it. ❤ I love to hear your realism and I love to hear your laugh. ❤ Keep the spark alive within and continue on.
It's great to see you rallying and getting things done, even if they are small things it's all progress. That's hard to do when you are grieving, but I think it will actually help you heal. My dogs are absolutely not picky eaters. I have one that will run off with anything I drop on the kitchen floor and eat it, including a raw peeled potato!
Mira, my heart is with you. I was also in the middle of a big declutter when i lost two family members 8 weeks apart. One was expected and one was not. I had to stop decluttered for a while because anything i would let go of just felt like more loss. I did start back up but it took me three months. Go at your pace and never apologize. You're amazing. ❤
Thank you for sharing, and I'm so sorry you went through something similar. I tried to continue in the bedroom but found myself feeling much the same way you did. Letting things go feels exceptionally hard right now. I do want to keep the momentum going, and I found that I was able to clean out trash from a cabinet and go through cheap jewelry. I really appreciate you putting this into words. It really captures what I'm feeling too, and your sweet encouragement means a lot.
I'm very sorry for your losses Mira. What I really like about your videos (and you!) is that you come at things from a perspective of positivity and being victorious with what you're doing. You don't make excuses, you just say it like it is and you're very honest in a way that resonates with so many people. This is a great strength. You are absolutely right, progress is progress and it's forward movement. If you have to take a break and put the clutter-peeling on hold, so be it! Your progress over the course of your channel is amazing and inspires others-- another great strength to have. Regarding maintenance, I like to set a timer (the minutes depend on my mood, so it could be 5 or 20) and do a general tidy. Or if that doesn't work, I pick one element to focus on such as getting trash and recycling out of the house, or working on a cabinet that needs tidying. Having less stuff to manage really is liberating. I have ADHD/ADD and a key thing for me is having less inventory: less inventory, less time managing it and putting things away! All the best to you!
I'm so sorry for your losses Mira. My thoughts are with you. Well done for being able to get on with your sorting. It shows how strong you really are, even if you don't feel it at the moment. I lost my father recently and it's definitely one day at a time. Remember that you have a huge number of people on here that are rooting for you. Al the best to you and your little fella. X
I am so glad your niece will get to enjoy this lovely jewelry box and cherish both having this special piece from you in her life and knowing you are making yourself free of things and habits that don't serve you anymore :) I have been gifted some of my aunts silver jewelry over the last 20 years when she no longer wore it and it is so special to me
I get pleasure out of donating my unneeded stuff, but you are right that it is so special to think of her getting to use it instead. Thanks for commenting!
My condolences on the loss of your mom.🙏 Great video, I know it’s hard but you’re doing great; one step forward at a time. Something from Dana K White that might help as you declutter is her “ take it there now” guideline. As you find things that have homes elsewhere as you declutter, you take it there now so you don’t have piles when you’re done. I’m a pile person too and this has helped me so much. Even if you have to make a space where you would look for it, it’s worth it to be ‘done’ when you’re finished. I chant it to myself when I’m tempted to lay something to the side…. “Don’t put it down, put it away.” Life changing small act of kindness for yourself. Truly. 🎉😁
Mira, so sorry to learn about your mom. I can tell you from experience that it does get better. You’re wise to let yourself feel all the feels. I love that you set goals for yourself and are so honest with yourself and your viewers. Props to you for starting your jewelry sorting on a clear kitchen table! Please know that your viewers are here for you. ❤
Mira I’m heartbroken for you. Loss is never easy and when they come back to back it is devastating. Please be kind to yourself and remember it is progress not perfection. I’m sending thoughts for strength, peace and healing. Be Well❤️🩹🙏
Sending you a big hug! I’m so sorry to hear about the loss of your mom and dog. Never an easy thing. I’m so proud of you! De cluttering is very hard. You’re doing a great job.
I totally agree with you: upper cabinets where you can't reach the top shelf without using a step stool will always contain expired food. That's why I decided to use one with two easy reachable shelves. What about storing some extra Kleenex or napkins on that top shelf after cleaning that one up. Those items won't expire 🙂. Even small steps are steps towards your goal to declutter your home. 💖
I put paper plates up there, yes napkins, plastic cups, things I need infrequently. I also put large bogo items up there like oatmeal or mayonnaise, just got to make sure I don’t try to get too many different kind of items or things will get lost again.
Same here, I have one cabinet above my fridge where I only store large glass jars and a cake holder. Once.a year I look in there and am surrpised at what I actually have 😂
This is a great idea! I am going to move some of that stuff from the storage closet next to that cabinet. Then I can use the storage closet space for something else. Thanks for commenting.
If you have any leftover jewelry after the family event, you could take it to a thrift shop. Crafters love it. I once bought a ziploc bag full of old jewelry pieces.
i feel for you on the loss of Cupid. it's so hard to lose your lap pup. I understand completely. i still ache over the loss of my little Tink. and I still cry. Im glad you are still there for Clay, he lost his friend too. i hope you both are a comfort to each other. so, what are your Top 5 favorite finds in all of your clutter piles that you have cleaned up so far? like, 5 things that maybe you forgot you had or that you just couldn't get to.
Clutter blindness is the downfall of maintenance but you already said that you saw the clutter on the counter and would get to it. That is half the battle - seeing the clutter. Take care and be kind to yourself in your grieving
Even a black bag full can take days or feel super hard for a seasoned extreme minimalist like myself, when the mood is low. So don't be so hard on yourself. X
Life can be hard and we run out of energy. Be kind to yourself in these days of grief. Even if you fall back a few steps they can be remade. Much love too you
You're doing fantastic Mira, a cabinet done, is a cabinet done. Personally, I'd buy clear plastic bins for the dog treats to create compartments. The shelf is quite deep and there's a real chance things get just pushed to the back and forgotten which won't happen with the bins. Also, it helps from overbuying treats, because let's be real, no dog needs that much variety (although when we're talking whether they DESERVE it,that's a different story 😊). Anyhoo, well done. I hope your birthday cake was delicious btw, it looked amazing on the picture! For an end of year video I'd like to see what your favourite comments are under the videos. The community is so heartwarming, it would be lovely to revisit the ones that put a smile on your face or that were just straight out hilarious. Also, what was your favourite declutter legging, as in that you wore during a declutter.
I second the end of year suggestion re fav comments from this amazing community and would love to know about the leggings, I was a little envious of quite a few 😍
Mira, take your time. Nobody griefes the same - my Dad passed 13 years ago, and I still have days, where all I can do is sit down and cry. Just be good to yourself, eat well, sleep enough, go for a walk. This Christmas was sad for us, Mom in hospital with Covid, me in isolation, cought Covid from her, Son and husband by themselves.... but it taught us a good lesson of what Christmas is about - love. Greetings from Munich, Germany.
I am sure you the more you declutter the better you will become at maintaining it. You are getting so much better at it, that I am convinced you will manage new piles so much easier. You are so strong in such a time of grieve to still put yourself out there and declutter a shelf. Don't sell yourself short. You are doing amazing. Give yourself grace for not doing as much as the last few months. You are in my thoughts.
For maintenance, retrain yourself to put things away when you use them, rather than setting them down somewhere. "Don't put it down, put it away." The cabinet looks excellent. Maybe his leash and doggie care items (brush, medicines) could also go on the dog food shelf.
Hey Mira, You’re doing an awesome job, and you are recognizing your feelings. You’ve had a rough time for sure. My heart goes out to you- sending positive thoughts and peace.
I’m so sorry for your losses and as so many comments have said, we all wish we could give you a big hug. You’ve done such a phenomenal job of clearing spaces in your home. Don’t feel pressure to jump right back in. It took time to build those decluttering muscles and I’m sure it will take time to get used to living with your clear spaces and to build the habits to maintain them.
I'm sorry about your mom and your sweet dog Cupid ❤❤❤ I think it was a great idea to tackle these small areas. Do what you have energy for. ❤❤❤❤ You will always have more to declutter and organize, so don't forget to celebrate what you have accomplished so far. You have literally moved mountains. ❤❤❤
Well done. Would love to see “re set” video of things like your kitchen counters. I have a hard time maintaining things I’ve gotten decluttered and organized in some areas. Kind of like a clean with me video would be awesome. I’m pretty sure your mom would be really proud of you for continuing your decluttering. I think most moms love to see our children doing well.
Well done Mira - keeping going when you really would rather not (for whatever reason) is really admirable. I’d suggest some baskets on those shelves as they are so deep. Means you could pull them out and still get to the stuff at the back easier without things getting shoved back there and lost. Wishing you a happier 2024 xx
well did you plant that bottle for me? joking..... I can see you are serious about getting things done, you keep on keeping on, even though you have had life things getting you where it hurts... we are all proud of you. You are a great role model for those of us who are facing our own battles... Love ya, Mira take care....
I like the idea of your counting what's leaving, but I'd also like to know what's coming IN. I think that will be helpful for you to realize and forgive yourself for needing maintenance (which is totally normal but almost no one talks about it!). I'm so sorry for your losses and hope that things feel easier soon. My cat is the least picky eater ever since he was starving on the streets before I took him in at age 10 months. He's a good boy and has learned so many tricks (sit, stay, paw, up, down, walk) and is the best part of every day.
I love that you are still feeling motivated enough to clear some smaller spaces! Are you kidding? You are more inspiring everyday. I can relate as it is so hard to push thru the veil of depression sometimes Great Job my friend❤
I have had four deaths in my family this year, so this Christmas has been difficult. I'm lucky to have a loving family and support system. Videos like yours also really help keep my spirits up. Your laugh makes me smile, and your positive attitude help keep me in a good mindset. Thank you Mira.
Oh goodness! I don't even know how I would get out of bed with so many losses so close together. I'm wishing you all the best, and I appreciate your sweet comment. Thank you so much!
I think you will probably need to reduce down so there is very little in your cupboards, so that when you put things away you can pop things straight in to their place without having to shuffle things. The key to putting stuff away is making it just as easy to put it away as leave on the counter. Sounds crazy, but in reality I think that means cupboards need to be only about two thirds full.
Mira, you are doing such a great job, I'm grieving the loss of my dad, nearly 14 months on. And am just about ready to start decluttering again so you are doing fantastically!! X
I ❤ the content on your channel. It is brilliant!!!!! You have inspired me to declutter and every time you post I also declutter right along with you. I need your videos to be a bit longer lol 😂😂 Love you Mira❤❤❤
There’s these open wall hanging jewelry systems you can get since you’re a butterfly. Then you can hang it on the wall whenever you get ready in the morning and you’ll always see it 😁 you’re doing so great Mira🩷
I know how heartbreaking it is to lose a dog, but try to remember that dog had a great life with you and was happy, that’s what matters. I’m so impressed for how you are dealing with your home, I wish I could be more motivated ❤
So sorry Mira for your loss! I know it's hard. But you're doing a great job! Your out there trying just a shelf or your jewelry. That's so cool that your niece wanted your jewelry box & now your ready to give it to her. That's so precious. Well your puppy has a nicely cleaned cuboard for his food & treats. Keep up the good work! Get to feeling better. Thanks for sharing! ❤️😊🫂🌟🎉
I am so sorry to hear of your mother's passing so soon after losing your sweet pup. Good job on pushing forward with your decluttering. You are doing such a great job!
I am hoping this New Year’s Eve brings positive reflections of how you tackled the big goal of many years in 2023 …. YOU DID IT THIS YEAR !!! Hoping you move into 2024 with all the positivity and satisfaction you have worked so hard for. 🎉❤
So sorry for your losses - impressive that you found the energy to declutter at all! Take your time - we’ll be here! Could you include your proudest decluttering accomplishments in your year end video? It’s not so much how much rubbish you carried out, but how the effort has improved your and Clay’s lives!
This is such a difficult time for you, and I know so many of us would love to be able to just give you a hug. You are doing fantastic. Keep going, even if it’s just a small corner at a time! Also, I’m pretty sure my dog will eat anything. No picky eater at my house!
I'd like to see a monthly update on how your maintenance plan is working. I find that it's easy to fall back into old patterns if I don't check myself every month to make sure I stay on track and keep things from getting out of hand again.
The Fly Lady system is a good place to study for maintaining. Take everything she says with a grain of salt. It can be a little intense. So happy you are finding a place for doggie. So sorry for your losses. Glad you have sister to share the grief of your mother. Best wishes!!!
I am so sorry for your losses. Unfortunately life is full of hardships & setbacks. What matters most is not how many times you get knocked down but how many times you dust yourself off & get back up! We are all here cheering you on. 🇨🇦
I so rarely wear jewelry that I felt awful that the beautiful and thoughtful jewelry gifts I'd receive got stuffed away in a box. So, I started hanging it up on my walls where I could still see and enjoy it even if I never wore it. I think you'll find displaying your treasures to be as wonderful as I have! I'm sending you comfort and condolence as you move through your grief.
Good work! You don’t need a long video; in fact, personally, I’m more likely to watch it if it’s shorter. But I know that’s not the case for all your subscribers. Anyway, I love that you were able to do something. Each little something adds up. Good job!!
Little by little gets it done. You've had HUGE changes in your environment, letting that settle while you take on the little things seems fitting. I admire your perseverance. Sending warm thoughts of comfort in this very difficult time of grief 💜💛
I think you should have Bonnie and her friends come back and organize the cabinets. Things are starting to pile up on the countertops. It’s a big project. Extra help is always appreciated. 😊
One day at a time. I can hear the low-ness in your voice. We get it, we understand. Big hugs to you at this difficult time of loss. The clutter will be patient too. ❤
Thank you very much. I really appreciate it.
Condolences on your recent losses, you’re doing really well with forging ahead and at the same time letting your heart heal. 🌿🌿🌿

I like that you set yourself very specific projects. It’s such a great way to feel the satisfaction of a completed task!😊
i feel for you on the loss of Cupid. it's so hard to lose your lap pup.
It's very understandable, easing back a bit on the decluttering when dealing with a double loss. You're still doing an amazing job, so take heart.
Clutter blindness is the downfall of maintenance but you already said that you saw the clutter on the counter and would get to it. That is half the battle - seeing the clutter. Take care and be kind to yourself in your grieving
I agree, progress is progress. You are pressing on. That’s what matters.
Great job Mira. My dogs would be so happy if I bought all those treats.😊
Even a black bag full can take days or feel super hard for a seasoned extreme minimalist like myself, when the mood is low. So don't be so hard on yourself. X
So sorry to hear about your losses. Sometimes you just need to take time for yourself.
Life can be hard and we run out of energy. Be kind to yourself in these days of grief. Even if you fall back a few steps they can be remade. Much love too you
Small things like an organized cabinet make such a huge difference in daily life. Progress is progress and you're doing great.
The fact that you are continuing through your grief is so inspirational. Captain America has nothing on you!! Sending best wishes!!
Sorry for your losses. One say at a time. Big hug from the distance.
Thank you so much for this kind comment. I hope you and your mom are both feeling better. Take care and best wishes for the new year!
One step at a time. You are doing amazing under the circumstances. 🤗
I appreciate your kind comment so much. Thank you!
Mira - I am SO SO SORRY to hear about your mom, esp. so quickly after Cupid. I’ll be praying for you and Clay. Hugs!!!
I really enjoy your videos! Thanks for your honesty and being able to laugh at yourself! Keep up the good work!
Thank you!
For maintenance, retrain yourself to put things away when you use them, rather than setting them down somewhere. "Don't put it down, put it away." The cabinet looks excellent. Maybe his leash and doggie care items (brush, medicines) could also go on the dog food shelf.
Hey Mira,
You’re doing an awesome job, and you are recognizing your feelings.
You are so kind! Thank you so much for this lovely comment.
You’re such a delight, and your laugh is precious. I’m so sorry for the loss of your loved ones.🙏🏾❤️
The face that you continue decluttering after loss is a huge step. Well done!
well did you plant that bottle for me?
Happy birthday to a fellow December baby!
It would be fun to see an estimate of how many empty water bottles you've thrown away while decluttering.
I love that you are still feeling motivated enough to clear some smaller spaces! Are you kidding? You are more inspiring everyday. I can relate as it is so hard to push thru the veil of depression sometimes
Great Job my friend❤
Thank you!
I think you should invest in a lazy Susan for the treats...that way you can easily look through them. Then the ones in back won't get lost in the back
I ❤ the content on your channel. It is brilliant!!!!!
You have inspired me to declutter and every time you post I also declutter right along with you. I need your videos to be a bit longer lol 😂😂
Love you Mira❤❤❤
There’s these open wall hanging jewelry systems you can get since you’re a butterfly. Then you can hang it on the wall whenever you get ready in the morning and you’ll always see it 😁 you’re doing so great Mira🩷
You are doing great….give yourself grace…a little at a time is better nothing …😊❤️
I know how heartbreaking it is to lose a dog, but try to remember that dog had a great life with you and was happy, that’s what matters. I’m so impressed for how you are dealing with your home, I wish I could be more motivated ❤
You could make a really cool jewelry tree for next Christmas :) Nice way to repurpose sentimental pieces you know you won't wear anymore.
Sorry about your mom.
One day at a time ❤. Hugs for you to feel better ❤❤
I am so sorry for you loss Mira! You are so strong to continue your journey. We are all rooting for you!!
So sorry for your losses - impressive that you found the energy to declutter at all! Take your time - we’ll be here! Could you include your proudest decluttering accomplishments in your year end video? It’s not so much how much rubbish you carried out, but how the effort has improved your and Clay’s lives!
Perfection! You set an attainable goal and smashed it. Progress is progress.
I really admire your determination and persistence, even as you are grieving very painful losses. You're doing amazing!
I appreciate it. Thank you!
Grief takes so much out of us and it’s different for everyone. Sending love and hugs.❤
Hugs for you!
Always exciting when you post a new video!
Thank you!
I’m very sorry for your loss. Loved watching you Declutter the cabinet please do the top shelf and show us.
Good work! You don’t need a long video; in fact, personally, I’m more likely to watch it if it’s shorter. But I know that’s not the case for all your subscribers. Anyway, I love that you were able to do something. Each little something adds up. Good job!!
Can't wait for the clean with me of the kitchen. I'm so sorry for your losses. Back to back is rough
It really is a beautiful jewelry box 😍
You doing a wonderful job. 🙏
Yes, you do not have to do everything yourself, though you might think you can or should. Go easy on yourself.😊
Give yourself grace. You keep pluging at it, you're doing a great job!
