Wishing you all a Happy New Year! 🎉Thank you so much for your support on this channel this year. I'm looking forward to being back on youtube full time in 2024 and making better videos for you that span many more projects. I also can't wait to share with you the big project I've been working on that took me away from TH-cam this year. 😆 Sending you all love and wishing you all a great year ahead. Be safe tonight, April
I have decluttered to the point where all closets, cupboards, and drawers are only about half full. I smile every time I open a door. Go you for coming so far!
The series with your mom are my favorite. Seeing you work together and deepening your bond is wonderful and meaningful. Being of service to parents is such a beautiful practice. I can’t get enough. I’ve been binge watching your channel and these series. Your approach to allowing her to have her own process and not pushing your ideas on her is so respectful. Your parents home keeps getting better and better. Your mom is so creative and she’s got her sewing room in a state where she can express herself fully. That must bring her so much joy and peace.
Translating Texan for the rest of the world: “Turn loose of” = “donation.” I love your mom. My dad’s family is from Houston and I grew up in Lubbock; these episodes always feel like home.
haha I forget that not everyone speaks Texan. :) I remember when I first moved up to the PNW after high school and friends would constantly stop me as I spoke to ask me what I was saying... "What does 'dil mean?"
Home Free is an a cappella group founded in Minnesota, but their bass and one of the tenors are from the South. The Bass Tim Foust is from Lubbock, Texas had to translate when their tenor Austin Brown spoke. The Minnesotans had a hard time with his Georgia accent.
I can't make up my mind if Winston is a mini space maker or a funny prankster! 😂 Watching you and your mom make another pass through the closets has motivated me to go for another layer in mine. I've been eye balling the stuff I wasn't ready for last time. Happy New Year! 🥳
You won't regret it. It's amazing how much more confident you feel with each round. ...and I think we need to make him a space maker tee for the next round!
@@kc3503 So funny... that's the best! 😂 Having my daughter's bunny here over the holidays gave new meaning to the term cord control. We had chicken wire, pillows, blankets, anything we could find to block him from chewing through cords. Pets are the best and the worst all at the same time!
I love your declutter videos with my Mom. After a year a grieving I have decided to declutter and use the thing I put up for good for years. Keep the things that bring me joy and are useful right now. I'm thinking of what my kids will have to deal with if I die unexpectedly. I dont want them to be overwhelmed will mine and their fathers things.
Happy New Year, April! It looks like your mom is more comfortable on camera!😄Ive noticed you have some facial expressions, and gestures that Mom has. Don’t you love hearing you’re like your mom?😄❤️
If I could only tell you just how many times my Dad mentioned while we were there (before finding it).🤣 It was the best declutter discovery of the year.
He was shocked and excited! There was a slight hint of "of course it was in a pile of your papers"🤣 but mostly just happy to have it back. He immediately got up to charge it.
Omg I just adopted a schnoodle puppy and you sound like me. Constantly chasing her down to get back things she has run off with. ❤ she is naughty but I love her.
I love the title 😂 omg the dog is a pure rascal running off with the shoes. What did your dad say about the kindle? I’m just wondering were ye even able to stop yer selves laughing as he opened it, that’s a classic. Hope ye all had a lovely Christmas and wishing ye a happy, healthy and peaceful 2024. Mary, Joes wife 👏👏💪👍💐🙏🎆🎇🥳🐶👟
He was shocked, but I think overall my mom and I laughed the hardest. He was so excited to get all of his books left and immediately got up to charge it. Happy New Year to you!
Happy New Year, April! Hope you had a great visit with your family! Great job on the closet. I am still moving along with my declutter. Slow and steady. It does feel so good once it’s done! Hugs and a special hug for Izzy when you go back.🥰🥂🎉💜
I am so grateful that I have pretty much reached the place that I donate almost everything, as opposed to trying to sell when it is time to let loose. If something is worth more than $30 or so, I will balance the effort vs return.
I completely agree! My mom and I have a favorite consignment store that we love to go to that's local, so it's pretty easy to take them all to that place and just drop them off. But I'm with you. There is a lot of work involved with selling clothes.
Oh, my goodness. I love your mom. She is just the greatest. Of course, the find of the century goes to the Kindle. I don't know what I'd do if I lost my tablet. I must have a book that I'm reading, so the loss of the Kindle would be devastating! Hope you all have a happy new year! Take care, Linda 🦋
my mother is a hoarder. she has been doing work and i've been proud of her but there is a long way to go. i wish we worked together as well as you teo do. she always puts me in charge of washing things which is so disgusting and makes me pause to even start helping. a note for the pant hanger, if you alternate the levels from front to back it'll take up less space in the closet - alternate each scarf up the ladder (hope you understand that).
It's called "A Second Look Consignment." It's downtown, close to the Cactus Hotel. It's amazing. The owner intentionally keeps prices low so that it remains affordable to everyone. PS. I am heading back to San Angelo soon to work on more declutter projects. If you or anyone that you know has a project that they would like help with (in San Angelo, Miles, Wall, Grapecreek or Mertzon), feel free to contact me. I will be lining up all projects within the next few weeks. You can email @ thesuitcasedesigner@gmail.com if you have anyone in mind or if you need help yourself!
In those moments it’s because I know from other comments that she isn’t confident in letting ago. I think it’s more important to declutter with confidence than it is to declutter for a “number.” For her situation, there wasn’t any harm in keeping it a little longer until she feels stronger about her choice and has more time to think about it rather than making a quick decision with the pressure of the camera. Overall I find that being more patient in decluttering will lead to stronger, confident declutter muscles (rather than regret).

Your mom is just adorable. She is working hard to get decluttered. She inspires me.

Oh that's the best feeling. Congratulations on all your hard work.💛

Oh my god the Kindle excitement! I loved seeing you both giddy over finding it!
It was the best. I'm so happy we were filming it🤣

Winston is going to keep your mom young😂
🤣 and very active 🤣
Your mom is so CUUUUTE! And funny, her giggle is hilarious 😅
Finding the Kindle was highlight for sure😜
I have to say, We all looove your mom.
Cracking up over the discovery of the kindle and dog toy and deciding to wrap them as Christmas gifts- totally something my mom and I would do, too!
🤣

It's great to start, but only when you're ready. And I hope all those special items that you're keeping and now using will make 2024 a good one😜
Love your Mom’s giggles regarding wrapping the Kindle for Christmas 😂
I love your mum 😂❤❤ Happy new year everyone 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉😘😘💖💖💖💖💖💖

Sounds like it beats the alternative. LOL!
haha I've been noticing that same thing as I edit. :)
Winston is having so much fun with the shoe game. 😂
You two are so cute when you find the missing kindle!
I can't believe we found it🤣
Love it, that bin had all the things she had been looking for! Great job!
And to think she didn't want to even go through it. :)
your mum is the cutest
omg the finding the kindle part made me laugh so much your mum is hilarious
Happy New Year, April, Jackson, Izzy and family 🎉🎉
Thank you! You too!🎉

Thank you so much!! Me toO!
I love watching you and your mom! I have misplaced my kindle too. I have hope now😁
Check the bin with all the papers🤪
This was good and fun. It’s wonderful when you find something you thought was gone. Good times

The Kindle part was so funny 😂 We recently found a phone that has been missing for 2 years. So I can totally relate to the joy of that moment 😅
Oh no!Where was it?
@@SpaceMakerMethod in between the couch. Iv vaccummed it out multiple times. This time we fliped it over to get underneath and out it fell 😁
I love your mom. She is just so sweet 😊 so funny with the Kindle 😂 I would love to know what your dad said when he open the present with the Kindle? 😄

Oh this is such a sweet video! I loved the Kindle moment. You and your mom have the same laugh. 💗
You and your mom giggling after you guys found the Kindle absolutely made this video :)
Happy New Year! Love how your mom's house is looking. Really love the gallery wall! So great to have a closet with room to spare!!!
It's finally coming together. I'm hoping to go back and finally redo the original 80s closets to match the rest of the rooms.

Great Motivation video.
Happy New Year!!!
P.S. yeah for finding the Kindle.
Happy New Year! (the best declutter find of 2023!)
Best part of decluttering is finding those treasures that you thought were lost.

April, I’ve notice you encountered her to hang onto items she was willing to part. Declutter is all about letting it go, even if you can’t sell it.
