- My third video where I re-collect my own records. All of them need a proper clean before they can be played and entered back into circulation.
I've found a gem. Abbey Road by The Beatles.

I found one thing which works better than sometimes messy glue ...... and that is two sided tape. Does a neat job on record cover hinges because it's width is the same as the hinge. Might cost a few $ more but works well for the job.
I did found a very scratched 1955 Sarah Voughan LP, placed in a poor cover, in a flea maket. After a cleaning process of 24 hours, leaving the vinyl immersed in the cleaning liquid and using a cheap manual rotating cleaner, I did get some results: Side 1 became very quiet, with almost no crackling and crystal clear sound; side 2, however, retains some crackling, but above all it loops in two places due to a marked transversal scratch....The good thing is that this record was given to me for free.
1:48 on first inspection... I could tell even from where I'm sitting, possibly thousands of miles away, that this copy of AR was done. Very clear to see that it had been tracked WAY too many times with a bad cartridge or a TT that was improperly set up.

I believe the first Aussie release had a printing error which gave it the appearance of a bloodstain on the road and a pinkish hue PCSO-7088

Never heard about a bloodstain on the cover but the road on the original UK misaligned apple copies has a slightly red hue. The sky on the Abbey Road cover was also touched up after the shoot to make it look a brighter blue.
The same was done to the sky on the cover of Who’s Next by The Who.
There are 2 versions of the Abbey Road back cover. One with the green Apple at the bottom aligned with the track listing and one where it is misaligned. The misaligned one is more collectable.
The same with the front photo. On the aligned Apple copies there is more of the zebra crossing at the bottom so you can see more of the drain and more of the trees at in the top right hand corner.

Sounded bloody good to me especially the start of the medley I think I'll check mine now I have an original 69 release (I bought it brand new, that's an indication ov my age lol ) plus I have several additional copies I've somehow acquired oh lucky me eh? Nice that you managed to get a good playing copy from the two. Even though it was a huge seller, I find that along with the White Album, Abbey Road is one of the most difficult to find an original or near that plays well throughout, due to the amount of quiet parts of the album and it being a bit longer than other Beatles album so the grooves are a bit closer together.

nice video mate ! in regards to the blood stain version, there is a easy to see redish haze inbetween Ringo and John. I don't see it on ur copy
Disappointment and then pleasure. Just shows how important an inner sleeve is in helping stop deep damage to the grooves.
Use the marks on the runouts for foolproof identification of which version you have. Discogs is reliable on these.

Have you tried to recover the scratches with a tooth pick? I saw some videos on TH-cam about that. In fact I found it useful on a new copy of Pink Floyd's Animals 2023 that came so dirty from factory that I had to use a tooth pick to remove some of them that stayed after I had washed it. Maybe it can correct some skipping parts.
How many vinyl do you have? Plus any classic Australian vinyl?

If you get a stylish with a 0.6 that is better for scratch record. You could do with a better phonostage have a look at the Michael fidler spartan 5 a spectacular low noise accuracy phono stage 150 £
Thank god for re-issue,,it may not have the same nostalgia as the original,,,but it's hard to get an original copy in near mint,,and if so,,the cost 😂❤
I’ve got a horrible Abbey Road. They must have been pumping them out without regard. I have the same Skip but worse, it’s distorted so badly; absolutely wicked pressing on Come Together. I also have a much better one. My bad one is a U.S pressing-have to get back to ya on the better one. Both matte finishes so no blood…whatever it means. Cheers!
Just wondering why your LPs are in the such a bad condition? Do not forget to also protect record jacket by using some fine outer sleeves. Maybe you would consider getting a better record player too.
Please do not take offense on this statement. Your record is not restored. It is only surface cleaned. When a record is truly restored, the record comes out dry from any water bath/wash. Your record had a full sheet of water on it when you tilted towards the camera. If you truly got everything out of the grooves, your record would have been completely dry after washing. Sorry but that is the truth.
You don't know much about the identification of records. do you.

There are so many pressings of Beatles albums it is undeniably tricky to find the correct one. It often comes down to tiny and trivial details. As a knowledgeable Beatles collector I couldn't say 100% when my UK Abbey Road LP is from though it's definitely very early (Misaligned Apple, black inner sleeve, but does list Her Majesty on the label)
