- In this episode of this series, we want to introduce our new project 2021 Acura TLX A-Spec in Apex Blue Pearl, seeking for some performance and cosmetic enhancements.
First we will start with getting some baseline horsepower number in dyno, then we jumped right into installing a prototype performance Downpipe from RV6. Watch us from start to finish on the video.

Nice! I miss my 07 Type-S and want one of these new Acura’s but at the same time I want a Lexus GSF. See which one I go with when time comes.
This Aspec starts off at $45-47k plus tax you're looking at almost $50k a 4-cyl turbo.
@@ifearedfate9787 ima go with the GSF. Still got 2-3 years I’ll get a 2019-20. The good thing is most people don’t use them as daily drivers and are well taken care of. I should have kept my Type-S I regret selling it.

@@sockerballer100 man it’s been over a year and still miss my Type-S lol. But I didn’t buy myself another car bought the wife a Tahoe. Maybe if I bought a GSF I’d feel different but I’d keep it and save up for the GSF see if you wanna sell it after.

Not sure if the bigger brakes from the type S would clear the factory wheels but should be able to slap on the type S wheels and brakes if possible and do an alignment

Just wondering if you had any issues with.the rv6 catted downpipe? Did the check engine light come on? And will it pass emissions? I wanted to add this to my car but worried about those issues.
No issue with the catted downpipe, No CEL. Florida is a no emission state, and we never test it. I assume it should pass since quite a bit of folks have installed them and they are from emission states.
The 2.0liter accord is getting the same numbers by being down 20hp, I think honda is down playing the accord 2.0liter 252hp compared to this car 272hp
I remember the final Accord V6 Earth Dreams J35 on the Dynojet made about 249whp I know there are different variables and all

Hey is the downpipe catted or catless? I see that rv6 has a regular downpipe.. doesn't say catted or catless on it so i'm a bit lost
Will be interesting to see how much increase in BHP you can get out of that engine, love the colour of the car so I got some Apex Blue base for a project I'm doing but it's not the same colour 😱 do you have a code for this colour? this is what I have HONDA APEX BLUE,P,2C (B-554P,B554P) any help would be appreciated. How is It 2 wheel drive? The Aspec comes in AWD
A-spec comes FWD and SH-AWD. Only the Type-S is exclusively in SH-AWD

You should not try to put a BOV on these cars, does more harm than good
With all the rules/regs in California, would this still make it street legal? (not sure if its a dumb question, just starting to get into the idea of modding a car)

We wanted to put out true and relevant information, so we are doing multiple dyno sessions with additional add-on. It’s obviously taken a bit longer than we anticipated but it will be worth the wait

Did you throw a cel? I had a rv6 down pipe for my 17 accord and they said the cel would come on even with the defouler and I wasn't comfortable with a cel on a 17 accord with not even 40k mi on it. So I sold it before install.

What state are you doing this in id do this but has to be carb compliant
We are in Florida, no emission test. We are only doing it for testing purposes

I don’t like the engine sound, will see how the type S sound like. Acura should bring back stick shift on the type S or at least as an option. The car look amazing though.
With an open intake and exhaust, the sound will be enhanced
I went from a 19 3.5 PAWS to a 21 A-Spec FWD; I miss the sound of my V6 but, the 21 2.0T is better in every way.

@@mannyfresh5909 i had a 2013 ATS4 2.0T with 90,000 miles on it and it had almost 400 lb-ft of torque with a ecu and never had any problems. We traded in 2018 and got more thwnni owed so it was a good deal and a nice car.
We have a CT6 now.
Just 12% drivetrain loss on an AWD vehicle is really low. But then I guess it’s because it’s not a full-time AWD system.
