Both are good. Its no day & night difference. You save some bucks with mi & also get a 55w charger in the box also more storage. s21 doesn't come with a charger & in regions where samsung sells the exynos variant there is no point buying the Samsung. xiaomi comes with snapdragon 888 everywhere. Problem is big youtubers like supesaf unbox therapy Marques brownlee etc are doing camera reviews on the Snapdragon variant while small youtubers & those who are in exynos regions like UK Europe etc are reviewing the exynos variant where the mi camera is performing better than the exynos samsung. So if ur in getting the exynos chip mi is going to outperform you everywhere battery performance & camera. While if u r getting Snapdragon still mi is cheaper you get more storage & a fast charger on box.
I prefer the camera of S21 Ultra as it's more consistent and has better zoom quality. Having said that, Xiaomi is getting real close to Samsung and this is good for us the consumers.
it is true that color rendition on mi 11 ultra is worse than s21 ultra, BUT as far as it concerns main camera texture and details are far better on mi 11 ultra, that is why you should have given that point to mi 11, cause you can change color rendition with some software update in the future but you can not add texture or details no matter what software you are gonna use. So could you tell us please why you did not mention anything about texture and details only color rendition on your review? P.S. Before anyone saying I am a Xiaomi guy or anything like that, since 2008 and until today I own ONLY Samsung phones and for the first time I am considering of buying something else like m11 ultra (or maybe upcoming xperia 1III)
@@mrAnthonio I have watched maybe more than 100 reviews for s21 ultra and mi 11 ultra till now and my conclusion about the cameras are the following : from versatility point S21 ultra has more better cameras than mi 11 ultra with clear wins (macro, telephoto beyond 10x, front camera) and maybe a slight win with portrait mode when using ONLY 3x camera NOT main camera, now if someone cares a lot more for main camera and wide angle camera then mi 11 ultra is the clear winner although s21 still is very close mostly because of that extra 3x camera.
To be honest Xiaomi AI camera algorithms screwed photo most all times that's the reason why sometimes color,white balance and exposure is inconsistent.I believe in this comparison AI is on if it's off the results is almost similar
Because of the complexity between hardware and software..the reality is most people just point/ shoot and then share the photos,they dont crop and zoom for details,they just want beautiful photos to share on others..yes mi11 ultra is slightly better for details because of bigger sensor size(hardware) but here s21 ultra is the one who create a 'social media' ready(software) photos Yes xiaomi can give some update in the future but colour science is not that simple to update..so if u really care about details just go for Mi11 ultra,if u are into versatile and great camera features just go with S21 ultra.

Bro in india UK europe & most regions of the world samsung uses exynos processor. Thus s21 ultra can never win unless you live in China or US. Notice you will find reviews where s21 camera wins & reviews where mi did better. Look carefully youll notice in all the camera comparisons where mi did better exynos variant of samsung was used. There is no point buying s21 specially in india it costs 1 lakh 5 thousand while mi is 70. You don't get charger & headphones in the box of the Samsung so you have to spend another 3 thousand for charger. Mi gives you a 55 watt fast charger for free in the box. Samsung only supports 25 watt charging. 4:25-4:30 Xiaomi was winning but he had to say that you can get a similar result on the S21 Ultra if you manually switch to the night mode. Well you can get better selfies on the Mi 11 Ultra if you turn off beautification features. Since the S21 ultra needed assistance from night mode to take a better photo in a dark room why didn't he turn on the same mode on the Mi 11 Ultra in the same room? What a joke. At 7:58 the zoom comparison is the worst I've ever seen. It was basically a normal photo comparison. Instead of making a detailed comparison of details, edges, shadows, cropping and backgrounds of more than one photo and scenarios he quickly jumps to video comparison and we all know the S21 Ultra has better video zoom. A proper zoom comparison is when you snap something 100 meters away and zoom till you see the better details but since that's one aspect in which Mi 11 Ultra beats S21 Ultra it had to be rushed. When Xiaomi takes better photos or videos he says it's hard to choose the winner. When Xiaomi takes natural colors he says they are bleaker or washed out so they're bad. When it takes beautified colors he says they're fake. When S21 Ultra takes natural colors he says it has better judgement. When it also takes beautified photos he says they're vibrant so they're good. I believe the S21 Ultra is still better than Mi 11 Ultra overall but making Mi 11 Ultra look bad in aspects where it is better than the S21 Ultra is misleading. That said there wasn't a proper zoom and night mode comparison, exact areas where the Mi 11 Ultra shines.

You have a point.. The main camera can be used with the small screen to frame not only photos but video too. No limit on time for that video and you can even keep the video framed when you zoom in or out as the small rear screen does show you what you are framing. Night photos even in this video had better colours in the park image at night and the Mi 11 Ultra always has that bit better detail and of you don't like the brighter look you can edit the image to make it look darker without losing detail. The Samsung being darker will lose some detail if you try to brighten the image without going to night mode. The review is not accurate or totally honest at how the Mi 11 Ultra actually did when the guy belittles the Xiaomi wins as "too close to call but Xiaomi takes it". The Xiaomi won those categories fairly and the ones where it lost may not have been accurate as the main camera does show video on the small screen and can be used in the way the reviewer said it cannot be used.

Usually when I watch camera comparisons where the xiaomi won you can tell that the reviewer favored the xiaomi by the way they hype up the brand in the beginning of thier video making it clear its thier favored brand, nothing neutral about thier comparison. The S21 is the obvious better overall camera & phone. How good are xiaomi phones with updates & security patches overtime??

DxO did a second report explaining more why they put the Mi 11 well ahead, it was more scientific, but it was that the S21U had some issues. Samsung has done some updates since then and they may have closed the gap a bit, but then again the Mi 11 is not even released in Europe yet so in two months I expect it to be further ahead and maybe only the P50P will beat it this year? As for performance, we have Exynos over here and every scientific study shows it sucks and in some respects is not even able to surpass last year's sd865! So, no Samsung superfan will convince me that the Mi 11 U is not the faster phone.

From my experience, I would rate 1// Huawei, 2// Xiaomi 3// OPPO and 4// Samsung (Exynos).
S21 ultra has better camera setup and 3 good software updates so far. As of now it's better. Mi pictures are inconsistent as of now. But Mi ultra is still on beta stock software, has better cpu performance, better charging, brighter screen, louder speaker, faster charger and rear display to take pics which also is going to have video support in next update. Value for money is Mi11 ultra. In india it's much cheaper than S21 ultra

The Xiaomi camera processing looks like it's overcompensating with Gamma and blowing out the details of the image. Could be improved with a software update but I'm guessing that's more to spend in R&D.
I guess he has the global variant which has miui 12.0.1.0.Chinese variant has already updated to 12.0.13.0. and improved miles.But color consistency is still better from S21U(SD888).Night mode,night videos better from MI11U at the cost of higher iso.Indoor low to medium light S21u loses textures(major weakness and hasn't been fixed after several updates).Both have shutter lag,which I hate which they had shutter speed like the iphones and pixels. The difference is the software. Remember software is also important, and on the international the mi 11u comes with the Miui 12.0.1 which im sure have worse color rendition, and consistency. The chinese variant have 12.0.13 miui version and it fixed those issue and have better camera performance
I would only disagree with the first test as the front camera is just there for the sake of it, Xiaomi wants you to use the rear cameras aided by the second display. Therefore, I would say that for photos a win for Xiaomi. The front video should be apportioned to the video test as you have a separate round for that. That makes it 3-3 and pretty much my conclusion; both are great with pros and cons. Neither are Masters, they both are jack of all trades and other phones beat them out in every respect (best video-iPhone, best zoom-Mate 40P, best main-Pixel, best front-iPhone, etc). These two are the most versatile if that is important to you, so subjective; I am interested in the best main camera so Pixel for me.

Dynamic range is superior on the s21U but for my usage that has zero importance, as I need true to life colours of the objects I am photographing, so the s21U is a bit over-saturated (easily corrected in post, but Xiaomi better in that regard). Yes, UI and updates on Xiaomi have been sub-par but with their new rise to the top, I expect these to improve as Samsung did a few years ago when they hit the big time. I just prefer MiUI to OneUI.

It has very much noise. Also it has pretty oversaturated colors. Many people like that but actually that is rather bad than good. If i want that i can use an image editor. I was really interested in buying an S21 Ultra but when i saw the DXOMark test i was pretty dissapointed. Other professional tests have similar results. Also 25W Charging in a 1200€ Phone...

So how do you proof its fake if they proof it with good and detailed examples in most categories? Its just a different measuring than "I like the image". Many people owning the device confirm DXOMarks findings. It really depends what you want and what your use cases are. Its a bit like sound (very subjective) If you go for a blind test the results will be very different from any professional standard. Xiaomi might optimize its camera to score more Points in DXOMark and that is probably the case. But still you don't see all the details in these youtube videos and small resolution examples. Its just very simplified for the average consumer and i get the point. If a device should be easy to use, consistent and versatile the Samsung might be the best choice. I just said that some images of the Samsung are very dissapointing in specific conditions if you look at details noise etc. There are also a lot of things i don't like about the Xiaomi like bad macro.

It seems you're kinda feeling uneasy to declare the Mi 11 ultra winner just because it's not samsung. However, in most of the cases Mi was almost equal if not better than Galaxy. And there is a big role of software which can make even better camera of Mi.

Well i understand your point in not supporting Chinese Products but more for political reasons. China is not an underdog at all anymore. They have so many companys and so many good products. Look at Huawei, DJI, BBK Electronics etc. I would rather support a non Chinese Manufacturer but i had so much bad experience with Samsungs Software in the past. Last thing was Web View one or two months ago. Others are not very good at making products in my opinion (apart from Apple mabye) For the DXOMark thingy. I don't think they are biased. They just have a strange very scientific way at rating products. Companys like Xiaomi optimize their products well so they get a high score using DXOMarks Protocol which does not mean better real life performance for the average user. They look at the pixels in detail, color/skin tones. They take around 3000 sample pictures afaik, so more than most youtubers. But as i stated in many comments already if it looks better for you it does not mean it looks realistic. Its like Sound. People are used to the "Badewannensound" as we call it in Germany which makes highs and lows really punchy in music. I have to admit i like that too. But from a neutral standpoint that is not the genuine sound. Same applies if you rate images. People will often prefer the disney look. But if you are an image expert that might not be the look you want. The DXOMark protocol is just bad for the S21 Ultra especially in the Zoom Category. Cause it uses fixed ranges where non of the S21 Ultra Zoom lenses are used properly. So it is not really representative.

Mit anderen Samsung Produkten habe ich keine Erfahrungen. Bei Handys und Tablets bin ich seit jeher zufrieden und hatte tatsächlich noch nie Ärger. Software finde ich mittlerweile sogar eine große Stärke der Galaxy Smartphones. Mit China meine ich rein politisch. Technisch können das Telefon genauso gut zusammenschrauben (machen sie ja sowieso schon seit Jahrzehnten für andere). Und ja, der Test bei DXOMARK ist nicht falsch aber die Methoden sehr fragwürdig auch bei 10.000 Bildern fände ich die Methoden fragwürdig und die Ergebnisse größten Teils nicht nachvollziehbar. Z.B. der Teil mit dem rauschen oder der schlechte Zomm bei 2,8x..... Warum sollte man nicht 1Meter zurück gehen und das Photo 3xoptisch machen???.....Der riesige Unterschied bei den Punkten stinkt in meinen Augen zum Himmel. Und die Jungs hier z.B. machen ja auch nicht bloß 5 Bilder und das war's. Klar ob man Farben jetzt eher warm, kalt oder kräftig möchte bleibt Geschmackssache, aber wir reden ja über JPG da wird immer kräftig mit der Software nachgeholfen. Ansonsten kann man die Bilder ja in RAW aufnehmen. Aber ist das dann natürlich? Auch nicht wirklich es muss letztendlich dann nachbearbeitet werden, wo man wieder beim Thema Software ist. Lange Rede kurzer Sinn ich glaube mit allen aktuellen Top-Geräten lassen sich gute Bilder machen. Es kommt noch immer auf den an der diese macht.

I've seen better zoom photos of the Mi11 Ultra from actual owners rhemselves. With selfies, you can use the main camera of the Mi11 Ultra which definitely will beat the S21 Ultra's... That's why xiaomi didn't even bother to improve the front cam. It's more on video calls purposes.

After watching several comparisons between these 2, i conclude that the s21 ultra is better camera wise.but still planning to buy the mi 11 ultra because of the huge price difference and the s21 ultra has an Exynos chipset in my country. @@mrAnthonio I have watched maybe more than 100 reviews for s21 ultra and mi 11 ultra till now and my conclusion about the cameras are the following : from versatility point S21 ultra has more better cameras than mi 11 ultra with clear wins (macro, telephoto beyond 10x, front camera) and maybe a slight win with portrait mode when using ONLY 3x camera NOT main camera, now if someone cares a lot more for main camera and wide angle camera then mi 11 ultra is the clear winner although s21 still is very close mostly because of that extra 3x camera.
To be honest Xiaomi AI camera algorithms screwed photo most all times that's the reason why sometimes color,white balance and exposure is inconsistent.I believe in this comparison AI is on if it's off the results is almost similar
Because of the complexity between hardware and software..the reality is most people just point/ shoot and then share the photos,they dont crop and zoom for details,they just want beautiful photos to share on others..yes mi11 ultra is slightly better for details because of bigger sensor size(hardware) but here s21 ultra is the one who create a 'social media' ready(software) photos
Yes xiaomi can give some update in the future but colour science is not that simple to update..so if u really care about details just go for Mi11 ultra,if u are into versatile and great camera features just go with S21 ultra.

Notice you will find reviews where s21 camera wins & reviews where mi did better. Look carefully youll notice in all the camera comparisons where mi did better exynos variant of samsung was used. There is no point buying s21 specially in india it costs 1 lakh 5 thousand while mi is 70. You don't get charger & headphones in the box of the Samsung so you have to spend another 3 thousand for charger. Mi gives you a 55 watt fast charger for free in the box. Samsung only supports 25 watt charging. Well you can get better selfies on the Mi 11 Ultra if you turn off beautification features. Since the S21 ultra needed assistance from night mode to take a better photo in a dark room why didn't he turn on the same mode on the Mi 11 Ultra in the same room? What a joke. At 7:58 the zoom comparison is the worst I've ever seen. It was basically a normal photo comparison. Instead of making a detailed comparison of details, edges, shadows, cropping and backgrounds of more than one photo and scenarios he quickly jumps to video comparison and we all know the S21 Ultra has better video zoom. A proper zoom comparison is when you snap something 100 meters away and zoom till you see the better details but since that's one aspect in which Mi 11 Ultra beats S21 Ultra it had to be rushed. When Xiaomi takes better photos or videos he says it's hard to choose the winner. When Xiaomi takes natural colors he says they are bleaker or washed out so they're bad. When it takes beautified colors he says they're fake. When S21 Ultra takes natural colors he says it has better judgement. When it also takes beautified photos he says they're vibrant so they're good. I believe the S21 Ultra is still better than Mi 11 Ultra overall but making Mi 11 Ultra look bad in aspects where it is better than the S21 Ultra is misleading. That said there wasn't a proper zoom and night mode comparison, exact areas where the Mi 11 Ultra shines.

You have a point.. The main camera can be used with the small screen to frame not only photos but video too. No limit on time for that video and you can even keep the video framed when you zoom in or out as the small rear screen does show you what you are framing. Night photos even in this video had better colours in the park image at night and the Mi 11 Ultra always has that bit better detail and of you don't like the brighter look you can edit the image to make it look darker without losing detail. The Samsung being darker will lose some detail if you try to brighten the image without going to night mode. The review is not accurate or totally honest at how the Mi 11 Ultra actually did when the guy belittles the Xiaomi wins as "too close to call but Xiaomi takes it". The Xiaomi won those categories fairly and the ones where it lost may not have been accurate as the main camera does show video on the small screen and can be used in the way the reviewer said it cannot be used.

Usually when I watch camera comparisons where the xiaomi won you can tell that the reviewer favored the xiaomi by the way they hype up the brand in the beginning of thier video making it clear its thier favored brand, nothing neutral about thier comparison. @@banglazbless3536 I read the DXO Mark camera results and the Mi 11 Ultra beat the s21U easily. DxO did a second report explaining more why they put the Mi 11 well ahead, it was more scientific, but it was that the S21U had some issues. Samsung has done some updates since then and they may have closed the gap a bit, but then again the Mi 11 is not even released in Europe yet so in two months I expect it to be further ahead and maybe only the P50P will beat it this year?
As for performance, we have Exynos over here and every scientific study shows it sucks and in some respects is not even able to surpass last year's sd865! So, no Samsung superfan will convince me that the Mi 11 U is not the faster phone.

S21 ultra has better camera setup and 3 good software updates so far. As of now it's better. Mi pictures are inconsistent as of now.
But Mi ultra is still on beta stock software, has better cpu performance, better charging, brighter screen, louder speaker, faster charger and rear display to take pics which also is going to have video support in next update. Value for money is Mi11 ultra. In india it's much cheaper than S21 ultra

The Xiaomi camera processing looks like it's overcompensating with Gamma and blowing out the details of the image. Could be improved with a software update but I'm guessing that's more to spend in R&D.

The difference is the software. Remember software is also important, and on the international the mi 11u comes with the Miui 12.0.1 which im sure have worse color rendition, and consistency. The chinese variant have 12.0.13 miui version and it fixed those issue and have better camera performance

I would only disagree with the first test as the front camera is just there for the sake of it, Xiaomi wants you to use the rear cameras aided by the second display. Therefore, I would say that for photos a win for Xiaomi. The front video should be apportioned to the video test as you have a separate round for that. That makes it 3-3 and pretty much my conclusion; both are great with pros and cons. Neither are Masters, they both are jack of all trades and other phones beat them out in every respect (best video-iPhone, best zoom-Mate 40P, best main-Pixel, best front-iPhone, etc). These two are the most versatile if that is important to you, so subjective; I am interested in the best main camera so Pixel for me.

Dynamic range is superior on the s21U but for my usage that has zero importance, as I need true to life colours of the objects I am photographing, so the s21U is a bit over-saturated (easily corrected in post, but Xiaomi better in that regard). Yes, UI and updates on Xiaomi have been sub-par but with their new rise to the top, I expect these to improve as Samsung did a few years ago when they hit the big time. I just prefer MiUI to OneUI.

It has very much noise. Also it has pretty oversaturated colors. Many people like that but actually that is rather bad than good. If i want that i can use an image editor.
I was really interested in buying an S21 Ultra but when i saw the DXOMark test i was pretty dissapointed. Other professional tests have similar results. Also 25W Charging in a 1200€ Phone...

If you go for a blind test the results will be very different from any professional standard.
Xiaomi might optimize its camera to score more Points in DXOMark and that is probably the case. But still you don't see all the details in these youtube videos and small resolution examples. Its just very simplified for the average consumer and i get the point. If a device should be easy to use, consistent and versatile the Samsung might be the best choice.
I just said that some images of the Samsung are very dissapointing in specific conditions if you look at details noise etc.
There are also a lot of things i don't like about the Xiaomi like bad macro.

Please change your spectacles. I dont think so the main camera Samsung win although I am using Samsung now. I hate fake colour yellowish colour at Samsung phone. I prefer more to Xiaomi images that produce more natural colour and more clear images at night. The bigger sensor is the clear winner nothing compare at all sorry...
It seems you're kinda feeling uneasy to declare the Mi 11 ultra winner just because it's not samsung. However, in most of the cases Mi was almost equal if not better than Galaxy. And there is a big role of software which can make even better camera of Mi.

So I have 21U and I'm pretty happy. When it comes to cameras, I think both devices have their advantages and disadvantages. But one thing is clear, the huge difference with DXOMARK is a joke.Not a single test known to me says anything similar. I think this test is much more transparent and understandable. And people why do you buy Chinese products? The Chinese are justifiably criticized when it comes to data protection. The Chinese state has its fingers in everything.Huawei technology is used to monitor Chinese citizens. Cameras hang on every corner. Well i understand your point in not supporting Chinese Products but more for political reasons. China is not an underdog at all anymore. They have so many companys and so many good products. Look at Huawei, DJI, BBK Electronics etc. I would rather support a non Chinese Manufacturer but i had so much bad experience with Samsungs Software in the past. Last thing was Web View one or two months ago. Others are not very good at making products in my opinion (apart from Apple mabye)
For the DXOMark thingy. I don't think they are biased. They just have a strange very scientific way at rating products. Companys like Xiaomi optimize their products well so they get a high score using DXOMarks Protocol which does not mean better real life performance for the average user. They look at the pixels in detail, color/skin tones. They take around 3000 sample pictures afaik, so more than most youtubers. But as i stated in many comments already if it looks better for you it does not mean it looks realistic. Its like Sound. People are used to the "Badewannensound" as we call it in Germany which makes highs and lows really punchy in music. I have to admit i like that too. But from a neutral standpoint that is not the genuine sound. Same applies if you rate images. People will often prefer the disney look. But if you are an image expert that might not be the look you want.
The DXOMark protocol is just bad for the S21 Ultra especially in the Zoom Category. Cause it uses fixed ranges where non of the S21 Ultra Zoom lenses are used properly. So it is not really representative.

Software finde ich mittlerweile sogar eine große Stärke der Galaxy Smartphones. Mit China meine ich rein politisch. Technisch können das Telefon genauso gut zusammenschrauben (machen sie ja sowieso schon seit Jahrzehnten für andere). Und ja, der Test bei DXOMARK ist nicht falsch aber die Methoden sehr fragwürdig auch bei 10.000 Bildern fände ich die Methoden fragwürdig und die Ergebnisse größten Teils nicht nachvollziehbar. Z.B. der Teil mit dem rauschen oder der schlechte Zomm bei 2,8x..... Warum sollte man nicht 1Meter zurück gehen und das Photo 3xoptisch machen???.....Der riesige Unterschied bei den Punkten stinkt in meinen Augen zum Himmel. Und die Jungs hier z.B. machen ja auch nicht bloß 5 Bilder und das war's. Klar ob man Farben jetzt eher warm, kalt oder kräftig möchte bleibt Geschmackssache, aber wir reden ja über JPG da wird immer kräftig mit der Software nachgeholfen. Ansonsten kann man die Bilder ja in RAW aufnehmen. Aber ist das dann natürlich? Auch nicht wirklich es muss letztendlich dann nachbearbeitet werden, wo man wieder beim Thema Software ist. Lange Rede kurzer Sinn ich glaube mit allen aktuellen Top-Geräten lassen sich gute Bilder machen. Es kommt noch immer auf den an der diese macht.

i think mi has taken a leap and both cameras are amazing..but phone is not jus about cameras for normal user..samsung ui is best in anroid..samung pay samsung dex ..stylus usage..samsung offers way more things than mi

I've seen better zoom photos of the Mi11 Ultra from actual owners rhemselves. With selfies, you can use the main camera of the Mi11 Ultra which definitely will beat the S21 Ultra's... That's why xiaomi didn't even bother to improve the front cam. It's more on video calls purposes.

it's just that samsung is sooooo boring to use.. the software is super minimalistic and way too simple... not so customizable at all... I prefer the more realistic colours and dslr feeling of the mi 11 ultra so I'll go with it!

After watching several comparisons between these 2, i conclude that the s21 ultra is better camera wise.but still planning to buy the mi 11 ultra because of the huge price difference and the s21 ultra has an Exynos chipset in my country. I also conclude that the camera comparison of a popular techtuber that starts with an S, is rigged lopsidedly in favor of the Samsung

Me da igual como sean las cámaras de estos móviles, yo no pago 1200€ o 1500€ por un teléfono que a los 3 años va a la basura por obsolescencia programada. Cuando duren 10-12 o 15 años, me plantearé un dispositivo de estos, lo demás es tirar el dinero.
