One thing about his vocals too….they are extremely unique. No one sounds like him. The fact he can rap, sing so angelically, and do screamo….he’s just unique. You hear his voice and you know it is him.
I feel Tyler is on his vocal prime. After more than 15 years doing music, this man continues to improve his singing. This performance was one of his best vocals OAT.
@DanaONeillStuder That is accurate. A grandmother last year, of which Tyler has spoken about that experience in direct relation to the process of writing The Line, and grandpa Fuz just ten days ago. (Edit: removed an erroneous space)
I have no idea how Tyler just somehow keeps getting better and better, but the man is just unstoppable. He has the voice of a literal angel, and yes, the scream really elevated the song to something very special. I truly hope that non TOP fans will see this performance, and recognize what a rare gift this band is to the world, because you do not see this kind of raw talent every day...
First singer is Royal & the Serpent. I was fortunate to see her in a small venue a few years ago. I love seeing her share a stage with my favorite band!
You just gained a new subscriber dude. As someone who has lowkey obsessed with this Tyler Joseph for 10 years, I wholeheartedly want to thank you for pointing out that vocal growth. When I was younger, I was so picky about vocal accuracy and Tyler wasn’t really displaying that consistently. I definitely saw past it though because of the sheer amount of emotion and intellectual strength in his writing, lyrically and musically. So to hear another musician point that out is just amazing to hear. That we’ve loved him all along but now he is getting stronger🥹🔥
He happened to write this song during his grandmother's passing and it gave such a heart touching performance. I have seen Twenty one pilots live many times and I am never disappointed. Tyler is the best!
This broke me. Tyler's song is dedicated to his grandmother who died in front of him. His grandfather also died days before or the day of the live performance. Makes the scream even that more powerful now that I know this
If you haven't seen Arcane, and you haven't seen the scene he wrote this song for, I'm sure it must be shocking to see him go so hard for it. But he loves the show, plus having just lost his grandmother, so he went hard.
I feel like they did need to go this hard for this show because all the songs in Arcane are just phenomenal. Like, if they didn't go this hard, the scene where this plays wouldn't be the same. The songs and animation are the core of Arcane and every song is played in the perfect scene...
We need. NEED! This on Spotify asap!!!! Honestly Ive thought a scream part like this would fit The Line so perfectly, but it wasnt in the show (understandably so). This is an early christmas present man
OMG my man, you were so fast. I was frantically looking for reactions to watch because this one definitely floored me, smashed me and shattered me into pieces. Never knew that this song could get any better, but lo and behold, our Tyler just had to kill us with that scream! Loved that you were so excited expecting the belt but we’re blessed with THAT scream. And Tyler’s vocals were absolutely FLAWLESS. Thank you for doing this so quickly. So excited for the next tøp livestream.
In case you dont know, Tyler wrote this song about her grandma passing away and it happened while he was on the room with her. And the song is dedictated to her and the meaning comes from that.
Hi Toci! The singer at the start is Royal & the Serpent. She wrote & performed that song around Jinx character & it is so emotionally beautiful & poignant… would love to see a reaction to it. Like the line it keeps me in tears but is so good. Tøps performance here is so good & I was so excited to see them backed by an orchestra….. something that lately I’ve been thinking I’d love to see
In case no one else has explained it, the first two singers were doing stripped down versions of their own songs that are also part of the soundtrack to season 2 of Arcane. Twenty One Pilots was the main act, but the performance was a cool medley of the other two songs in front of The Line.
You have a phenomenal singing voice my friend! Tyler sing-screams those notes bc of stylistic choices and it's his brand, but also bc it's not as easy for him to hit those notes You just did them with ease! I hope you end up using your god-given talents; we only have this one precious life (until we incarnate again), and as long as you have it, i hope you are able to sing
Oh damn I was not excepting that! Thank you so much! People normally find my singing along kind of annoying but sometimes I can’t help my self! I get so into the music that it’s like a reflex❤️😂
@TociReacts Me too! I don't have your pipes but, unfortunately for my loved ones, I love to perform so that turned into dance and public speaking. I was part of an improv duo where I sang every night for a few months when I was around your age and during the same time I wrote lyrics to a whole album recorded by the Wombats. Trust me when I tell you you have never heard of them and you should be grateful for that. They were a death metal band. They had a female lead singer named Larry. The only lyrics they wanted were death and destruction. What's ironic about loving to perform is that I also have crippling social anxiety that usually results in agoraphobia long-term when I am sick. Good times, good times
tyler’s voice flawless like always but that’s scream is gonna haunt me, i love when he adds a scream in the live version. so fucking beautiful. and those two artists?? i really like this kind of sad, slow vibe in songs so i’m def gonna listen to their stuff and see what’s up
I missed the live stream tonight because I was watching this! 😂 When Tyler did that scream my family and I lost it. It was perfection. On how Tyler’s voice has improved: I’m going to link a highlight video from the livestream they did for the 10th anniversary of Vessel. There are several sections where they go through some of the vocals on the old demos and they are HILARIOUS! Tyler is just covering his face in embarrassment 😂 th-cam.com/video/IlL8m-FHTHc/w-d-xo.htmlsi=IhNhpx6lspntYuNZ
It was recent- he talks about it in a clip introducing this song. It’s where he got his motivation- he was in the room when she passed and he said it changed him. I believe he was talking about her in Navigating also when he says “my dad just lost his mom, I think that everybody leaves”.
Your admiration comes thru genuinely, dude, Welcome to the Clique!! We live for the screams and falsettos and drum beats and lyrics and ukulele and oddly placed drum kits and creativity and just all of it. Lovin your journey!! ❤|-/💛🔥
i think his writing is still basically the same as well, imo he's just gotten better at writing concisely while still getting his point across, there's almost no super long verses anymore really like in hds, kitchen sink, ode to sleep, etc.
First time i heard it had flashbacks to linkin park hybrid theory. Thats how chester sounded....not many can hit that perfect rasp/distortion while maintaining the note
The only thing I don't like about this version of the song is that they didn't let him do the full song. Like...There's a whole verse missing. I understand that they have a time limit for stuff, cuz they gotta get the show through...But c'mon. it's like 45 seconds to let him get that second verse in.
Was wondering how quick these would show up. That scream is literally everything right now... well, that and the Okami announcement. It was a very good night!
I’m so glad I was able to check it out even if it was right after a 3 and a half hour live stream I just couldn’t stop my self from doing it! Much love haha ❤️🙏
You should react to Herald of Darkness next! It's another amazing performance that happened at TGA and its a banger song even if you've unfamiliar with Alan Wake. They didnt need to go so hard on a videogame song but the result is fantastic!
Hey! great video. since the game awards thankfully changed the video title to properly credit the other singers, would you mind changing the title of this video as well?
the starts is parts of 2 other songs from the series by diffrent artists(wasteland and remember me). Its really odd that they didnt credit or mention them anyway in the video(title or description) and its honestly kinda fucked up. Just to clarify TOP is my favorite band and I am not meaning to trash or them or anything but I think its weird that the game awards grouped all the songs in the same video and didnt mention the other artists
Hauntingly beautiful. If you go back and listen to Trees…Tyler is clearly seeking out God. 13 or so years later my belief is this is him closing that loop. In art, there is no greater symbolism of God’s presence than a ray of light shining on someone’s face. This is my interpretation of this true piece of art. It’s my kitchen sink. 🥲
Tyler’s voice was perfect and of course the scream was the best addition we didn’t know we needed to this song!!!
I totally agree… the scream made me cry more than I was already 😭😭😭
It was so perfect that I almost thought he was lip syncing and then the scream came
the scream caught me so off guard and i'm STILL obsessed. tyler has such an incredible vocal range, it's insane
One thing about his vocals too….they are extremely unique. No one sounds like him. The fact he can rap, sing so angelically, and do screamo….he’s just unique. You hear his voice and you know it is him.
I unconditionally love his voice. A precious treasure i keep for myself.
literally ive seen people try to do impressions of him and nobody ever comes close
so underrated!
i cantwait to see top in april 25 in Berlin ,best singer of the last 2 decades for me,wish you all the best for 2025
I feel Tyler is on his vocal prime. After more than 15 years doing music, this man continues to improve his singing. This performance was one of his best vocals OAT.
Tyler has lost two relatives in close proximity to this song. Yes, it did need to be this emotional. Yea, he did need to go that hard.
Can I ask who they were? I know his grandpa died. I may have heard his grandma died, too.
@DanaONeillStuder That is accurate. A grandmother last year, of which Tyler has spoken about that experience in direct relation to the process of writing The Line, and grandpa Fuz just ten days ago.
(Edit: removed an erroneous space)
That scream reminded me so much of Chester's scream like so many people have also said. It was amazing
I need him to cover Linkin Park, that "FACE" was spot on. Literal Chills
I thought the same! Chester vibes. How people don’t recognize the band as one of the greatest blows my mind.
Tyler literally crossed the line with that scream.. The line beyond perfection 👌
That scream got me pregnant…. That’s just naughty
“That scream got me pregnant” 😂😂😂😂❤️🙏👏
Some chick on twitter is slandering Tyler saying he was lip syncing! That was no Lip syncing!
whaaat? there was literally a scream, that chick is crazy
@ IKR! Unbelievable.
You could hear him take a breath while seeing him taking a breath
Them's fighting words lol
a compliment really
First singer is Royal & the Serpent. I was fortunate to see her in a small venue a few years ago. I love seeing her share a stage with my favorite band!
I love how you go back to scream over and over again like everyone of us for the past few hours. I'm so in love with their performance
it had to go THIS hard for THIS tv show.

@@TociReacts you know we like you're yapping. Especially when you're yapping about Tyler and Josh. Keep on yapping!
Yes, Tyler's vocal abilities kept growing through the years, its amazing!
He happened to write this song during his grandmother's passing and it gave such a heart touching performance. I have seen Twenty one pilots live many times and I am never disappointed. Tyler is the best!

First time viewer but you encapsulated my feeling hearing this rendition. Absolute insanity of a performance.
Major in real life goosebumps and tears from that performance by Tyler and Josh and the orchestral strings.
Tyler s voice, screaming , Josh drums and the orchestra....maaan... Hits me at celular levels!!!

🙏❤️
I’m a sucker for great lyrics set to a melody! Tyler knows how to do both. And his vocals have matured beautifully.
Omg the way I almost messaged you to tell you to look at this ASAP! So glad you saw it! The SCREAM! 🔥
OMG what a performance, the scream was incredible
5:11 that smile from TOCI was soo good to see
Omg I was going to check the livestream to see if you would catch it or not but I wasn't able to. I *NEED* this version on Spotify rn

Its giving one more light by linkin park vibes the way its a mellow song with an epic scream during live
the first lady is Royal & the serpent and shes performing her song Wasteland from arcane :)
Toci turns the volume up...Tyler Screams😵💫💥
He matured. He is a dad. He can do it all.
That brings me to tears... beautiful.
I love your reaction and appreciation for Tyler's voice! Thanks for reacting to this so quickly!
Love your reaction. It’s warming my heart when someone really gets and acknowledges what Tyler has to offer.
5:11 that smile from TOCI said it all 😊
Awesome reaction to an incredible performance |-/
The second I recognized that melody, I knew it was time. 😇 🌟
Here immediately! This was a medley of songs from Arcane.
In case no one else has explained it, the first two singers were doing stripped down versions of their own songs that are also part of the soundtrack to season 2 of Arcane. Twenty One Pilots was the main act, but the performance was a cool medley of the other two songs in front of The Line.
I HAVE TO BE RECEIVED IN HEAVEN WITH THAT PART
it definitly had to be THIS emotional for THIS tv show haha :D
your squeal matched mine from when i first heard tyler's scream, oh my god the way i screamed i nearly PASSED OUT
Tyler was fucking perfect dude HOLY SHIT, AND THAT SCREAM 😮
Arcane is a masterwork in animation, writing, voice acting, and music. Don't wait to enjoy it.
I love your analysis. I'm a fan of TØP since 2018 (i know i was kinda late), and i'm astonished when i see Tyler's improvement all over the years.

💯 agree about his vocal growth. His voice is unique and he just keeps getting better somehow. So glad you turned it up for that perfect scream too. 😆
Yes, bleeding is a great analogy of how it made me feel

First song is Wasteland by Royal & the Serpent, the second song is Remember Me (intro & main song) by D4VD.
Honestly best reaction so far. Subscribed! Tyler is a vocal force to be reckoned with. They just keep topping themselves.

Do Neon Gravestones by Twenty One Pilots
Real peak performance for the band. Josh in an orchestra! Dream come true.
I read somewhere that he actually made this song for is grandma while in the hospital
The songs were:
Wasteland - Royal & the Serpent
Remember me - d4vd
The Line - TØP
i think his writing is still basically the same as well, imo he's just gotten better at writing concisely while still getting his point across, there's almost no super long verses anymore really like in hds, kitchen sink, ode to sleep, etc.

Love his scream ❤️
Tyler Joseph actually did not entirely make this song up for the show , He made it for his Grandmother which passed earlier this year.
tears were shed
This is a musical masterpiece!!

I'm more disappointed that they didn't let the other two sing more, like... damn bro, y'all really gonna have all this production for nothing?
@psicopato2460 that too. That lady had a hell of a voice.
That’s how it is
Looking forward to your album!
Thank you! I can’t wait to show everyone !!

Love this version!! Gave me chills!
Was wondering how quick these would show up. That scream is literally everything right now... well, that and the Okami announcement. It was a very good night!
Oh and the girl at the beginning was Royal & the Serpent.
Tyler sang so well people are accusing him of lip syncing
"It did not have to be this emotional."
Was that a dare?
AS SOON AS I SAW IT I THOUGHT ABOUT YOUR REACTION, AND WAS SAD THAT I PROBABLY HAD TO WAIT TO SEE IT, BUT U WERE FAST ASFFFFF THANKS LOVE YA

I cry every time I hear this song.
Neither arcane or the game awards deserved this masterpiece. 🤘
FACE!
FAAAAAAAAACE!
I wish they’d left the second verse/chorus in. I need more.
As soon as I heard Tyler's "scream" I was like man, Toci is gonna lose it haha
Haha “Toci is gonna lose it” is definitely an accurate assumption ❤️😂🙏

You should really give the show a try man it’s goated
I don’t know if it's the case, but the first performer sounds like the singer for Yearning for Dark Shadows from Resident Evil Village.
its so disrespectfull of the og upload by the game awards that they only included TOP in the title imo
