So Blurryface/Nico putting the black on Tyler’s neck is called smearing. It gives him control of Tyler. Nico is one of the 9 Bishops in the city of Dema. The Bishops can’t see yellow. That’s why the Banditos use it as their color. When they throw the petals it messes Nico up enough that Tyler is able to break the hold and run. Yes, Josh is one of the Banditos. Tyler has escaped from Dema into Trench and Nico is trying to bring him back. There is a song from Trench called Bandito that can give some context, but it doesn’t have an official lore video, just a visualizer. But it is a beautiful song and definitely worth a listen. If you listen to Bandito the phrase “Saloh Folina” is a call for help when you are struggling. The Banditos use it with one another. There is also a theory from different translations that it means “enable creativity” which becomes important later. ❤ loved watching you’re reaction, as always

The video is the best representation of depression in my opinion. Stuck in a trench, being taken away in a daze, friends try to help but can only do so from a distance, breaking free from its grip and almost succeeding, but stumbling and getting caught again.

This is honestly one of the most visually stunning music videos i've ever seen in my life. It's so beautiful! It was filmed in Iceland, I believe, so I can't say i'm surprised, honestly. The smearing of the neck is to make them forget things . Bishops cannot see yellow. The banditos use the color to help guide people out. Josh is the Torch Bearer, who helps Clancy find his wait out of Dema. There is an introduction to Dema and Clancy along with Torch Bearer and the Banditos in a video they made just before Overcompensate. That introduction does help you understand the lore.
