Cracking vid mate absolutely love it and happy new year 🎉 I had the same issue on lures just come back from jurien bay an blokes where catching 40 to 50 cm tailor most casts I tried on lures an stick baits on my 2-4 kg whiting rod an couldn't get a take /hook up was so frustrating.. great vid man can't wait for the next upload

Nice one Jack. I love a feed of tailor. I'd suggest a smaller lure next time, maybe a 20gm metal or 100mm stickbait. Though as you said, it may have been the sun.

Hey mate 👋 thanks for watching! Sunrise/sunset I find is key for the tailor. If you fish any beach at sunrise/set with burley flowing, a pilchard on a set of ganged hooks you are in with a chance ✅ I fish once a week in the weekend so regardless of the conditions I’m going to give some form of fishing a crack. Time on the water will increase your chances ✅🎣

Hey mate 👋 from memory ( I’m not home to look at the rod ) I think they are rated to cast 4 ounce weight how every it could cast more pretty comfortably, it’s a lighter surf rod but also has incredible power. There will be videos on TH-cam about the assassin bluefish 13ft rod if you wanted to check those out for all the specs etc, highly rate it though 😎🎣

3 way swivels are great for creating leader tangles. dont use them rather a stiffer leaders with a twisted knot to stand proud off the sinker. preffer a float now when not using a basic running sinker setup. personally dont use an rig thats not a 1m long running sinker anymore. not a fan off tangles

Yeah stop rambling in yet another terrible episode, bahahaha jokes, I haven't seen anything your on about all very watchable and helpful to be honest, I got me 12ft penn for chrissy like yours will strap me Saragossa to it and soon enough hit the surf, I to seen them gangs with the swivels inbetween the hooks and bought a couple to try, definitely a bit easy than the original way there done, thanks Jack !!

Needle-nose GT Icecream - rod tip up when winding gets the lure bouncing along the surface.

I’d eat mullet for sure, I grew up in NZ eating all seafood 🎣✅ certainly wouldn’t turn my nose up at some smoked mullet 🙌🤤
