@@haqkomano4175 you would be very surprised at how an aircraft handles… I recommend trying it sometime if you get a chance. It’s very trippy. Nothing like a car
The 737 Max is a complete piece of garbage that has killed hundreds because of its bogus technology that causes the plane to nose down. Boeing should be absolutrly ashamed of this dumpster fire.
Before 9/11, I was invited to ride in the jump seat of a 747 landing at Athens. I was amazed at how much control input was necessary by the pilots. Mad respect.
@@Paul.mccartney_recordingsso because it’s a smaller plane, that means the pilots don’t need to control it? I’m struggling to understand your reasoning here. The original comment was talking about his experience with pilots landing an aircraft and how much they need to control it. That’s the same for all aircraft, look at a Cessna 172 landing and then go look at a 747 landing. They both need to control it.
@@rtbrtb_dutchy4183 please enlighten me on how this guy doing a great landing is over controlling. I’m sure you have plenty of hours behind the stick to back it up.
Great job Just Planes,, that is a very skilled pilot to preform that type of approach and landing, not much time to configure the aircraft. Thank you again..👍👍
I have some dexterity issues in my limbs. But even if I did not... watching them making it look soooooo simple.. even single handedly.. is inspirational. . . Also.. kudos to the automation and the increased 'fly by wire' systems.
I forget there is a bit of a delay when turning in a plane, in the air. You see he turns the yoke, but it takes a bit for it to react. I think that would take me the hardest to get used too
Nice landing. After landing noticed the pilot pulled the yoke aft( towards him). Especially on a wet runway, push yoke forward to add weight to the wheels to help stop the aircraft.
That's the role of spoilers. The only reason he pulled the yoke after main gear touchdown was to anticipate the nose gear touchdown which didn't wait that much to occur hence why the yoke has been quickly released.
Very soft landing. That's a really challenging airport to land in. I love my beautiful Azores (i am Portuguese). But... Flying back and forth is scary. Boat trips are much easier on me. Blood of navigators.. 😊
It amazes me how big that plane is wow and you're such a wonderful pilot to bring it down like that I admire that so much that is one big plane wow that's just amazes me
Guessing this is TUI or another Dutch operator, also looks like they leave the reversers at idle... Only one operator of 73s I worked for allowed that. Nice vid guys
Those MAX jets have wonderful screens, nice and large. I'd be all over the overhead one that pops down so I wouldn't have to take my eyes off the front.
Fantastic landing especially considering the conditions. It's such a hard landing on flight simulator. Deceptive especially with the radar altimeter that suddenly loses 200 feet
Great example for those who wonder about right handed captains transitioning to a left sidestick. He's already used to left hand control so it's never a big deal.
Hard to tell from the video, but it appears that you had flight director guidance from the base leg on to touchdown and rollout. Not to take anything away from your remarkable hand flying, but is that FD following some sort of GPS or "black hole" approach? In my day, it was ILS or nothing.
Seems a bit strange that the call out went straight from 500 feet to 50 feet without an "approaching minimum" call out followed by "minimum" to which the pilot flying would reply either "continue" or "landing", Pretty sure the audio has been dubbed over a different video.
It's 2023 and we can't have variable intercom squelch in our airliners like I had in a Cherokee during my PPL, so we have to listen to our FO/Captain doing a Darth Vader if we want to keep the intercom on using ANC headphones.

@L G crosswind and 150° turn right before the runway
To elaborate on the above, the mountain on the left causes funny air currents around it.
I have a question, why do pilots need to move so much steering back and forth and left and right near landing?
@@haqkomano4175 thats how you steer aircraft. they have surfaces for steering and no direct connection like a car to the road

Pilots have tough job while landing with tail winds. These guys nailed it!
Slightly long but for that approach hella good 👍👍👍👌👌👌
Amazing landing!

Great control! Nerves of steel! Nice smooth landing!
Wind conditions at this airport must have been a mess--the constant corrections just before touchdown. Whew! Great job.
actually constant corrections are normal for every landing, slower speeds make inputs less responsive
That was a calm day for Funchal, it's a crazy airfield. I never liked operating into there when I was flying for a living.
