    I'm a Massey Ferguson guy. Wes you nailed it. Pure an simple. AGCO bought out Massey Hesston & a slew of others. Now look at original equipment vs AGCO equipment. World's apart. Thick metal vs tin can. Appreciate your input and your honest opinion Wes.

    Only place your equipment recommendations go off the rails is in application. Other farmers can have wildly different applications, budgets, field conditions, customer demands, etc that make the equipment you would generally recommend very wrong for someone else. These is no single piece of equipment that's right for everyone.
    Absolutely appreciate your extremely opinionated perspective though. Not all of it I'd agree with, but its way better to have an opinion and put it out there than have nothing to say.

      Messick Farm Equipment if any brand of equipment has a weak spot, I'm convinced Wes should find it. I disagree with people who say he abuses equipment, I think the scale of his operation is something that engineers aren't factoring into designs. Equipment has gotten more delicate as it gets smarter. Pequea was on to something when they had him field test equipment. The hours and acres covered from Wes should show weak spots.

    I sell farm equipment myself as a career, and also represent some of the manufacturers you showcase on your channel.
    If I don't hear about what problems you or other farmers have with gear, either if they are minor gripes, or full blown POS's, I will not know what to tell the manufacturers and tell them "i lost the deal because of...". So again, Wes, thanks for keeping us all informed.

Keep up the good work and I hope you have a successful and profitable hay crop in 2017.

    I used to work for an agco dealer and had many custom operators running the 9870 Massey swathers and had very few problems with them would out perform the Deere or new Holland swathers running in alfalfa, crp grass,forage sorghum that was 15ft tall and very thick running 7-10mph in that stuff. Now I'm not saying the machines you have are crap in any way and very one has there own opinion on things I fully understand that but you don't know the true test to a swather until you run one in 15ft tall and thick forage sorghum. and by the way I fully support you in what you do👍👍

    The only Massey product I care for is the model 275 and 1155 tractor from the 70's that my grandfather farmed with. Those were good tractors. Tough as a tank. I remember working many hours on the 275 raking hay. When it came to harvest the 1155 would pull an old versatile pull type combine. Even the 275 could pull that combine no problem. They just don't make good stuff like they used to Wes.

  • @artgoat

    My New Holland disk mower was actually made by a French company called "Kuhn." I can get parts for it at the Case dealer or the JD dealer, because many of their disc mowers were made by Kuhn also (or if I want to get really creative, I can get parts at a Kuhn dealer). One of my CASE tractors was made by David Brown, who started out in partnership with Harry Ferguson (It was Ferguson Brown long before it was Massey Ferguson). Parts for it are common to CASE, DB and Massey Ferguson. Thing is, these relationships change every few years, so in order to figure out who actually made what, you have to know what year it was made and track it through the supply line. That's one of the things that make the red vs blue vs green vs orange tractor rivalry so amusing.

    Every brand has their good and bad points. Doesn't matter if it's JD vs. CNH vs. AGCO or Ford vs. GM vs. Ram. Whatever you're looking at, here will be pros and cons. Sometimes they really get it right, other times you get a real dud and it all depends on your application and expectations. Doesn't matter if you're talking farm equipment, trucks, washing machines, stamping presses, or cordless power tools.

    @fk4515 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    Okay Wes tell us how you really feel! Your operation is of a nature that pushes the limits of the equipment, not that you're abusing it but you're definitely finding what limits are and sometimes the manufacturers are finding out the limits aren't where they thought they were. It would appear some manufacturers have decided that if they can make a piece of equipment that stands up in your operation they know they have a production ready equipment. I have watched your relationship with Khrone/Messick's with interest, I think both organizations learned a lot quickly. In the long run your video documentation of the performance of your Khrone baler is something of value to Khrone. It would appear that if they keep your baler running well they are getting more advertising than what they could buy, but some of that value also comes with some worts as you are also showing ny weak spots in the equipment.

Some metal rots less some rots more. Don't be surprised by the building line making the same product because they THE "ENGINEERS" BUILDER will chose AND NOT EVEN THE DESIGNER CHOOSES THE CHEAPEST LINE REGARDLESS OF THE PROPER WAY BEST WAY TO BUILD/ FABRICATE ITEMS.. IT WILL ALWAYS BE THE CHEAPEST EASIER WAY OUT. The USA has been sold..

    I had one from 1996 to 2003. Guy kept truss passing in our fenced yard, opened our shed more then once and looked inside. It was because of him we had to start locking or doors. from 1980 till 1996 we never locked our doors unless going out of town. Not even at night.
