Magnaflow 14815 is the way to go on 325 and cost 250$ brand new. Mirror polished, checked and recommended by so many e30 325 owners. Your muffler has no character in sound, is more quiet then the engine, sounds and looks almost like oem, unless this is what you wanted.
Thanks for the suggestion. In this case, the OEM look and sound is exactly what I wanted for this car. This is a weekend cruiser for me as any vintage convertible should be. Now that I dont have the catalytic anymore Im glad I went this route as it didnt get too much louder (new video on that coming). I also needed new pipes from the cat back since it was all rotten as shown in the video. The Magnaflow 14815 is just a muffler for the $250. I did look at the Magnaflow cat-back 16535 but couldnt justify the price for what I needed.
@@NoGaragE30 If you are after oem , then why did you remove the cat? I still have my cat on, but if there are benefits in sound or performance then i will kick it out soon.
My cat was all rusted, getting extremely hot, and making all sorts of rattling sounds. I took the car to a trusted mechanic and during inspection it was found to be completely clogged. Given the cost to replace and the fact that I live in FL where smog inspections are not required, I opted to replace it with stainless steel pipes. I can tell you that it feels like I gained 20hp in the butt dyno.
Im having a 320i m20b20 with the same stock exhaust that u had before, im planning to remove the cat and straight pipe single tube to the stock muffler, do you think it will be too loud?
i just looked them up and the same seller is charging 1300 for that exhaust now...... same listing and everything hahaha I guess I'm not getting one of those
Wow... that's insane. I understand supply and demand since even Ireland Engineering shows them as out of stock, but $1300 makes absolutely no sense. You can get an Eisenmann setup if you wanted to spend that kind of money. The next best thing would probably be the Magnaflow cat back for about $700. There is nothing special in the pipes to be honest, you could just get nice muffler and take it to an exhaust shop that can cut/weld some custom pipes. I recently removed the clogged catalytic (highly recommend if you can get away with it in your state) and did just that.
Anything you buy on Ebay as a generic product without a brand is said to be an "Ebay product." If you want to get technical about it then it is not an Ebay brand product, nothing really is. If you ask me, this is the same system that Ireland Engineering sells under their brand. Side by side you wouldn't be able to tell the difference and they are exactly the same down to the welds.
I just recently removed the catalytic so it is a stratight pipe up to the muffler. This is a nice cruiser for me, the last thing I want is a loud exhaust.
It's hard to tell in the video...what work did the shop have to do? I assumed this catback would bolt in.
The shop had to cut the rusty studs/flange and install new ones on the cat pipe. They also welded new hangers.

The sound increase from removing the cats is minimal, especially with the stock muffler.
What did you do to your E30? You still have it?
