I like this camera more than the 360 camera you have been using lately. It’s low light performance is certainly better than my Hero 9 which gets very grainy footage this time of year on the Shore.
Wow! I am fairly new to mountain biking; definitely still a beginner. This trail looks so fun and technical, but you went down it like it was butter! It is very inspiring and great to watch.
I like that view ! Way better than the X3 imo.. can you get your vertical footage with this one too ? You seemed to like the X3 for the versatility of horizontal/vertical footage, and i get that, but i thought the wider view warped the image too much..
Yo! This video was super lit up. I watch all you north shore guys and I could tell it was dark but this video was able to produce a really interesting brightness where I could still see a lot of the fine details. It had like a gray hue to it but man it was so much better than squinting to see what your doing. I found the angle and footage easier to watch than your other recent videos.
Great tool to have for those dark days in the woods! Can’t wait until they put that sensor in a 360 cam… Ace pro is nice but can’t re-purpose that footage for vertical. Soon I guess?
Why can't you repurpose it for vertical? I've written a python script that takes my 4k and 5k and downscales it to 1080p vertical. Yes you lose some of the side but not a bad trade-off to get multiple formats from a single source.
The colours, dark, blacks look superb. I don't know how much color correction you did, but it looks great. But not a fan of the distortion. I want to see lens correction settings, and how it looks like. as I want zero distortion.
Looks good in flat light, will be interesting to see how it performans in scenes with more dynamic range. Would also love to see you try 30fps, 24fps looks quite slideshow-y in all but the darkest sections.
After that first run I’d say your new bike did ok😁 Seriously though I’ve watched you progress and have to say you’re showing MAD skills now! I’m sure that awesome new bike is giving you just a bit confidence, right?
I like this camera a lot better than the 360 camera. Less warped and more natural look. The low light performance is great too. Only a couple spots where the stabilization was off a tiny bit. And finally, great riding.
Love the new camera swaying to the 360 more and leaving the GoPro behind! What tyres do you run as well? I absolutely love watching you ride you rock 🙌
This is way better than X3 especially in low light shot. Use it more often and please let us know how's the battery life in real world where you don't have to worry about charging or running out of battery in the middle of the ride. My GO 2 always run out of battery and only last 2-3 mins in 1 run and had to charge again and repeat. So i decide to save money for this Ace Pro and Go 3. and I think you can make it a bit wider in insta360 in computer. I did that in my Go 2 to make it extra wide shot.
Yeah Nick Cypress it’s just about the closest thing to heaven and thanks to the Insta 360 The trails looked bright on camera The highlights for me Brutus Road gap never gets old Coles stoppie was sick
This has to be some of the best mtb footage on youtube! Definite will be considering this camera to upgrade from my GoPro Hero 7. What is the name of the trail system in this video?
I mean for low-light, it was close to perfect? If we're nit-picking, I don't know if you set shutter-speed, but maybe a tad slower of that helps with stabilisation? Just for the tiny bit of jittering? Sound was great too.
Got the camera as well. Do you only use those deadcats on those 3 spots? No external microphone, no postprocessing and no wind reduction mode? Crazy. I should drop my external mic and get those as well :D
Video looks pretty good for the low light conditions shown. This one for low light. Go pro for everything else :)) the one you previously used in the last months just average. I watch everything on a big TV 4k screen
Dumb question- how often do you have to change your brake pads in those conditions? I don't have real trails or even mountains around me and rarely ride in the wet- but my pads are gone after like 4 months of mild riding.
I was just on trailforks looking at these trails - what's the story on the destruction of this area by British properties? Has the spread been halted/trails protected or are the trails in this video also at risk?
Wow, interesting, pretty good quality and stabilization. Is this right out of the camera, or do you have much post-grading happening? I'm still using GoPro but realized how little of the GoPro I'm using since I changed all the settings in GoPro Labs and do all my stabilization in post-processing now to get better low-light performance.
I feel like I see those foam pads on everyone's action camera set up now, but cannot for the life of me find them. Share if you know where to pick them up!
I've been humming and hawing over this cam for a bit now.... Not so much into all th gimmicks... But like the idea of just outta the box and the AI does it's thing to give you goo image... But the low light!!?!?! Out here on the Westcoast and the Island... Low light is the devil for videos around here..... I'm pretty sure that's enough for me to sink some cash on the Ace Pro....
Maybe you just need to mess with the camera settings a bit more but in my opinion in its current state it is not very good at all Still shots look good, colour feels "real". But the second you start moving there is a TON of jitter and the camera doesn't focus on anything (seriously, pause any frame where you're moving and look for anything sharp). I also notice there's sometimes a "halo effect" that makes things look like they were superimposed - for example, look at 9:37 - the guy in front looks like he was edited into the frame. All of this makes the viewing experience really jarring Filming in 60fps might help a lot with the halo and jitter. But yeah I'm not personally very sold on this camera based on what I see here vs your usual camera quality. Everyone else here seems to be liking it so maybe it's just me.
I think you may be failing to grasp how hard this little camera is working to give this quality of image, with the conditions at hand.... A GoPro wouldn't even be close in these conditions. Light sycks for action cameras on the westcoast of BC.
But it still looks like 480p on my 50" TV. Go to 2:03 and pause, you're barely moving and it still looks terrible. These incremental improvements aren't worth the money
Wayyy better than the 360. I personally prefer the less warped, less gimbal like feel of the traditional action camera style perspective.
Very nice! I like it better than the 360 cam, the field of view is less warped.
Awww the look I love is back, please make it your main camera before the X3

Definitely make this your main camera! The actual 360 camera look has such a disassociation factor to it, the view makes it hard to feel immersed.
definitely make this your main camera, i'm getting one soon as well.
The video quality is fantastic. Love how vibrant the greens are. The steep stuff looks steep too.👍

the new bike looks so good from the pov angle. From the build video it seems like it's a very passionate brand.
Wow! I am fairly new to mountain biking; definitely still a beginner. This trail looks so fun and technical, but you went down it like it was butter! It is very inspiring and great to watch.
So awesome how many options there are now for action cams. Theyre all pretty solid now too. Liking the looks on this one

It is a pity that fov is not as wide as in gopro for example, but overall image looks really good, for the amount of light that you had that day.
Amazing in low light!
Like it a lot. Thanks for the ride.

It has a freeframe option, does that not work if you want to put it in vertical format later ?
Looks so good! I'm second guessing my GoPro life.
Very nice. The video quality was quite good. Noticeably better overall
The colours, dark, blacks look superb. I don't know how much color correction you did, but it looks great. But not a fan of the distortion. I want to see lens correction settings, and how it looks like. as I want zero distortion.
From soCal here, huge fan of the channel. Better low light for sure. But i like the x3, better perspective. I want to see more trail. 🤙
Looks good in flat light, will be interesting to see how it performans in scenes with more dynamic range. Would also love to see you try 30fps, 24fps looks quite slideshow-y in all but the darkest sections.
Maybe adding the motion blur in post would negate this effect a bit while keeping the 24fps ? I know the Insta360 app has this option somewhere
Dang I want to get my skills and confidence up to these levels. Looks so very fun
After that first run I’d say your new bike did ok😁 Seriously though I’ve watched you progress and have to say you’re showing MAD skills now! I’m sure that awesome new bike is giving you just a bit confidence, right?
Thanks! The new bike does help!
@VanCan Did you notice much of a difference going to a 180mm fork as far as suspension feel and balance? And how about change in geo?
The best trails on the shore right there!
I'm surprised how good it looks!! The depth of field looks way more realistic to me!
New camera is much better imo. Sick riding as always
Very crisp and clean
Video quality looks very good

The video quality was really sharp.
This is nuts!
This camera shows as if there was plenty of light and off center is less distorted (vs. your regular camera).
I sure wish there would be any mountain bike trails in my area..
Looks super nice! Action cams keep getting better, and its kind of inspiring. I have the 360 One RS, but would prefer something better already.
The new camera is way better than any camera atm on the market in low light. Keep using it please :D
The quality looks great, though I must admit I wish the Ace Pro was a tad wider.

That new knolly looks really cool
I like the 360 better, more stable feeling IMO :P The new camera does feel more action like.
Love your vid.
How did you get your bike soooo quite its impressive.
That’s how Knollys are
Way better pov with this camera, no fisheye image distortion.
Yeah Nick Cypress it’s just about the closest thing to heaven and thanks to the Insta 360 The trails looked bright on camera The highlights for me Brutus Road gap never gets old Coles stoppie was sick
road jump waz insaaane 5:20…camera work waz good too….

ya just the insta360 wind covers and stereo mode
Looked solid to me.
CLEAN YOUR HELMET LOL
Great video, as always!
Amazing content. This type of biking is an adidictive sickness only some understand.
Lookin good! There's a reason movies still use 24fps!
Was that 2:35 drop the one that cracked the Evil frame?
Nice! Noticed you haven't rode with Dale...
Looks awesome, but curious why EV -1 ?
Almost all cameras set the 0 EV comp higher than I like.
yep too early. nice nice!damn that pro ace is too smooothh! but may I just ask, where's dave? he's not riding with you guys?
The trail looks so much better with this camera than the 360

is the 3d file for the helmet mount av ailable online?
looks amazing
Yes. Much better
I think this is the best camera you have videoed with

I was just on trailforks looking at these trails - what's the story on the destruction of this area by British properties?

I think most of these west side trails will be destroyed by housing.
Reminder to the people watching, change your setting to 4k before watching the video to see the ACTUAL 4K FOOTAGE
How’s the battery life compared to the GoPro?
looks good.
Ferris Beuller's buddy can ride.
Your try yellow lens in glasses or goggles make huge difference in low light and with changing light
I thought you had the transmission on there
The quality from the x3 is wayyyyy better and imersive

bit narrow in terms of FOV no?

its way better than the unwatchable 360 weirdness.
I can wait for the price to go down. 5oo is a bit much.
Poor clarity.
Better the then 360 the 360 does some weird blurring around the rim of the image not a fan
Way better. I stopped wztching as i hated the warped look i love this classic pov
I don’t watch 360 camera footage, if you use this then I’ll watch way more
