I just discovered the extent of his drum talent and just now his vocal talent? I had no idea, I would definitly say he's in line with Steve Perry...He's got all the musicality AND soul. I can't believe he's totally self tought, lol...amazing! I hope things get better for his current situation.

Sounds like Deen is more than just a self taught vocalist. He not only has great upper range but he sings very skilled, so he hasn't blown out his voice from just being a screamer. Lasslor23, can you confirm this and maybe what his vocal instruction background has been? Thank you!

Don't mean to be intrusive, but do you know if Journey is planning another tour with Arnel next year or are they considering hanging it up?
They really should have just gone with Deen as their singer. Arnel is good, but damn, this guy can drum AND sing....I get that Journey kinda needs a "front man", but as a LOOONG time fan and critic of theirs over the years, this dude knocks it out of the park.

Everything Deen does has been self-taught. Both drums and vocals. No formal instruction.
