In my humble opinion the Mindru Katz recording of this wonderful and inexplicably neglected masterpiece is the best of them all!

Everything is playing absolutely equal. This song shouldn't be played like this. And what Vpprof sad, it's absolutely true

Viv, I adore my CD of Luiza Borac playing all three Suites, issued on Avie (AV0013) ten years back. As a cheaper alternative for Suite #2, Matei Varga on Naxos (8.572120) from 2008 is almost as good. His program has a fascinating reading of Sonata #1, also the last two numbers from Suite #3. In those two movements, both pianists are worth hearing.

It's played so aggressively… every chord is accentuated, very stiff and harsh. It could do for a couple of measures but not for a 23 min. piece, for Enescu's sake! That's why there is scarcely any pianissimo fragment in here, which makes it all the more monotonous. Sorry but this is really a profanation of Enescu, I listened to this twice, both times with the score and Aurora Ienei just doesn't heed Enescu's instructions, plays fff as mf and pp as mp, makes lots of unnecessary ritenutos etc.
