acording to some and those some were Pablo Casals Menuhin, Dinu Lipatti, Ion Voicu, David Oistrakh considered Enescu to the greatest genius since Mozart. Look it up.
Fantastic music, I was introduced to it on the occasion of my first and only trip to Romania, back in 1991, and I still love to hear it from time to time.
Enescu himself was bothered that his fame was based almost exclusively on his two Rhapsodies. It would be right fine for the wide public to know GE pieces as brilliant as this one.
Ehm. He is pretty much unkown to the rest of the world. Just like Romanian culture per se. Iosif Ivanovici, Porumbescu, Eugen Doga, Vladmir Cosma, Gheorghe Zamfir, Mihail Jora, Nicolae Kertulescu Dinu Lipatti, Clara Haskil under the conductor of the great Celibildache. Romanians have produced some of world best and most beautiful music to the ear. And we and our culture is unkown to the rest of the world. I can´t not blame Europe for their ignorance.

This is the censored version because the final contained (and contain) the ancient royal anthem "Traiasca regele". So the communist regime decided to eliminate that part from the work.
