Steve Elliot It just depends on the area. Some towns are really nice, others not so much. I agree with you about looking unwell and dead behind the eyes, but again it depends on the area. The people aren't like that in the more affluent parts, or the nicer parts in general
Most of them would be in the Glasgow hinterland. I *wouldn't* put Falkirk on there, since it does have something going for it, like Callendar Park & the Antonine Wall. Falkirk's main problem is Northern Irish sectarianism of both varieties. Stirling has ALWAYS been a city, and it's not one the worst places in Scotland - I've even gone on holiday there.

I think Muirhouse (area of Edinburgh) had some of the worst crime rates in Europe at one point (about 20 year ago mind you). Been through there recently, and as far as I can tell some folk there are raging at losing their crown, and doing their best to take it back.

I grew up in Grangemouth, which was just down the road from Falkirk and I went there very often. Folk do believe Falkirk is just the Kelpies and the Wheel (then again, all we had was the BP) 😆 Sometimes, I still visit family that way, but the high street has changed a lot over the years, lots of businesses rarely lasting long. But it’s not that different in most Scottish towns these days.

I was very surprised to see Stirling in this list. The castle and the old streets around it are really nice, and it has great views over to the Trossachs and Ben Lomond. I know there's some bad areas, but it's definitely not deserved of being on such a list! Worst places I've seen would be Methil, Grangemouth, Motherwell (anywhere in North Lanarkshire really) Port Glasgow/Greenock, Linwood, West Calder.

"Fife is a hellhole"? Really? East Neuk has some of the most beautiful villages in Scotland. Then there's places like Culross and Scotlandwell. It's not all like Glenrothes, Leven & Kelty. I'd put St Andrews on the good list, but I hate all the English yah-yahs who've colonised the place.
I worked in Falkirk for 4 years doing work for the council. When I seen this video Falkirk instantly sprang to mind. Camelon and grangemouth are also fucking horrid.

I was very surprised to see Stirling in this list. The castle and the old streets around it are really nice, and it has great views over to the Trossachs and Ben Lomond. I know there's some bad areas, but it's definitely not deserved of being on such a list!
Worst places I've seen would be Methil, Grangemouth, Motherwell (anywhere in North Lanarkshire really) Port Glasgow/Greenock, Linwood, West Calder.
Why do people feel the need to rip into their hometowns. Am a Falkirk boy and as Gerry cinnamon sung it's no the best place but theirs diamonds in the mud. If you want to see the bad you will but there are some great things also.
