ഇതു പോലെ യുള്ള വലിയ കപ്പലുകളിൽ വാട്ടർ ട്രീറ്റ്മെന്റ് പ്ലാന്റ് ഉണ്ട് അതിൽ ജോലി ചെയ്യന്നമനുഷ്യർ ക് കുടിക്കാൻ വാട്ടർ ഡിസാ ൽനേഷൻ പ്ലാന്റ് ഉണ്ട്. ഉപ്പു വെള്ളത്തിനെ ശുദ്ധി ചെയുന്നു. അതിലെ ഉപ്പു കളഞ്ഞു മിനറലുകൽ (പൊ ട്ടാസ്യം, മഗ്‌നീഷ്യം, കാൽസ്യം തുടങ്ങി യ മിനർലുകൾ )
ഇതിൻ്റെയൊക്കെ ഉദേശം എന്തെന്നു വച്ചാൽ ഇവിടെ രാഷ്ട്രിയക്കാരും അവരുടെ ആൾക്കാരും മാത്രം മതി. മറ്റുള്ളവർക്ക് എന്തു പറ്റിയാലും അവർക്ക് വിഷയമല്ല. ഇവിടത്തെ യുവതലമുറയ്ക്ക് ഒരു ജോലി സാധ്യതയും ഉണ്ടാവില്ല.
You are absolutely correct.Vessel have sewage treatment plant.At port it collected in a tank.In open sea only this treated water pumped out.International rule strictly followed.Violation huge penalty will be there.Olden days about 1980 bilge water directly pumped in the port only,when I was in the Indian naval ship.When I was in merchant navy day by day new rules implemented and strictly followed.Port water is absolutely clean as before,no sediments from the vessel discharged.
Vizhinjam Port is going to be one of the best & profitable transhipment port in Asia. There will be lots of challenges as we go ahead, Mariners must come forward with the suggestions. Port of Salalah , Columbo , Singapore, all these port will get effected in volume. Wrt berthing snaps of San Fernando, the discoloration is due to Propeller wash, this is normal. All the vessels have Ballast management plan, ballast water log is submitted together with the arrival port documents for the registration of vessel . Vizhinjam Port must be having an approved Ballast management circular. Also refer to SOLAS , MARPOL and all related circulars to avoid fines. Suggest electronic display of tides , current direction , wind direction for quick referance. Pilot and Master to maintain the berthing speed within the Harbour as prescribed by the Harbour Master. The mud is stirred up because of the significant water displacement caused when the ship's propeller runs in reverse (Astern). The ship needed to navigate into the breakwater with 5 knots speed to counter cross currents and had to reduce its momentum by using the propeller in reverse after entering the breakwater. The photo depicts the effect of the propeller's wash. I am pleased to mention that I managed all operations of San Fernando since 2016 as the safety manager, and I am from TVPM. Also, not a single drop of ballast water was discharged and the ship is equipped with a state of the art Ballast water treatment system (D2) and a good sewage treatment plant ( only clean water goes out).
