I’m not sure if I missed this but why didn’t she apply MD/Phd if her passions are with research?
Hey, i'm the student from the video!! I was very lucky to work with many wonderful MDs and MD/PhD's alike, and what I learned is that an MD provides a lot more flexibility. Most MD/PhD students have an idea of the research they want to pursue/the research question they want to answer, and I just wasn't at that point. I like a little bit of everything, which is why I felt an MD would be more suitable for me! I love research and see it being a part of my future career, but at the end of the day, I want patients to be the center focus of my practice. I hope that helps!
