Can’t wait for this game to unlock in two hours! Edit: I can confirm this is a god-like port, as someone who has played the game on both PC and Quest, this is my favorite version. Too bad the anomalies don’t look as cool as they do on pc on performance mode, gonna have to check out quality soon
I just returned this piss poor excuse of a port. Major shame honestly. Shadow settings look like lower than low PC equivalent. Quality mode is all reprojected to hell and back, making it difficult for most to use. The pointer "forward" positions are so misaligned it makes it difficult to aim. There are gigantic cracks between the textures , so big you can see into the void below, under the map. 90% of the foliage is removed in performance mode. There is NO implementation of any kind of ambient occlusion for shadows. None whatsoever. This is much worse than you could get, if you ran on PC at low settings. The ONLY thing that is better in the PSVR2 version is the eye tracked foveated rendering gives you a much sharper central image than you would get on PC even using the "wide" (aka high) setting. I honestly believe that all TH-cam VR people who dropped a raving review yesterday (day before PSVR2 release) were 'encouraged' to do so. I'm not saying the game is bad, as I thoroughly enjoy it on PC with my lowly RTX 2070 super. So please don't take it as I'm shitting on the game. I'm shitting on the devs for a subpar, poorly optimized mess, and potentially paying to get people to talk about how great a port it is.
This is a great intro video for tips for this game without any spoilers. I mostly had these figured out during the first 2 missions but this was great reinforcement. Loving the tension in this game. Yes there is some controls jank , but fun and different vr game.
Good tips… I’d also mention the beeping tide alarm, and how if you open your map you can turn it off. I was so confused that it keep sounding after I’d successfully returned in a panic to base, and had to learn online that there’s a green button on the map that finally shuts it off. WTAF.
Jammy: Here is an idea for a video. If you were given a PSVR2 for Christmas (it's not that far away) and only had 50 quid to spend, what games would you buy?
Top tip I can give new ItR players: USE THE TRAINING COURSES AND SHOOTING RANGE Tucked off to the side (to your right if facing the gate to leave the base), there's a door with a terminal that lets you enter the training grounds. The first training mission covers basic gameplay mechanics, similar to the opening tutorial, but it's good to do anyways. The second training mission is much more in-depth and is highly recommended. Lastly, the shooting range is your bread and butter. The most important thing in the Zone is to know the ins and outs of your weapon. Does it have a safety? How do you load it? What's the order for switching firing modes? The shooting range is a free sandbox and it's important to practice there until you feel comfortable in the Zone with a new gun. There's a standard shooting range, a sniper's range, a timed pop-up target trial, and the Killhouse, which is a close-quarters practice run through a building. If you ever have a little extra time to burn before the next Tide, go to the range. If you just got a new security level and want to try a new gun, go to the range.
This game is so damn good! Have patience, learn the mechanics, and definitely learn how the probes and scanner work. This isnt a linear campaign shooter, you are given a full world to explore and theres a lot to learn and master.
Just got through the tutorial. Holy crap this is the VR experience I’ve been craving. For once a flashlight beam in VR with a realistic range! Now I’m wondering if spending time virtually smoking will help me stop smoking in RL, or just contribute to the addiction lol.
Yess when i saw the settings i was a bit sad because i like the sensor hold grip the most out of anything else and thought its not there! Cant wait any longer we are so close EDIT again: they added an option yesterday to switch between sensor and pressing, now the game feels much better and i dont grab stuff on accident
I'm so fucking gutted... I've been looking forward to this game so long, bought it as soon as I could, and now it's just sitting on my PS5 staring at me because my bloody right trigger went last week and I had to send it back in to Sony for out of warranty repair. All these videos are killing me lol
Humm.... Interesting. I repair stuff. Maybe I should use ebay to sell a repair service for PSVR2 hardware. I'd be interested to know how much they charge you.
Have you seen the new hellsweeper update ? Should I get that or this? I have both of the walking dead games free from ps plus and have not touched them . Feel like this is similar . I just need something to hold me over till Arizona Remake . P.s TH-cam is still doing that weird thing where it is unsubbing us from your channel I don’t know why . Try to mention it in your videos I’m sure a lot of people aren’t aware they have been unsubscribed
Picked it up upon your recommendation. Hopefully get some time to play tomorrow. Couldn't get the PSVR2 Adapter to work with my laptop and a USB-C to Display Port Adapter and Thunderbolt correctly, so these ports will be key.
Here's a tip for you. Know the specs of your ammo. One of the best calibers in the game is 7.62 x 39 because FMJ already has 70% penetration chance. You can examine individual bullets by taking them out of the box and holding the button to pull up specs.
Yea, you can save scum. It also autosaves but that's a separate save file. Its very user friendly and forgiving when it comes to dying. I always reload when I die, ha.
If you are on the fence about buying this game, I suggest to hop back over and PASS. This is a terribly janky game with awful controls and a Bland, dull environment full of ridiculously boring AI. Not Scary. Not Fun
Hey Jammy! Love the channel. 🎉

Jammy your chanel is the best PSVR content on TH-cam, keep it going dude!! ❤
It is now my go-to PSVR2 channel. I love Jammy's work.

Great tips. Never saw that regen ball though. Couldn’t find it anywhere. Maybe I grabbed and dropped it without realizing 😂
Update on this… I found it under some cake on the table near my bed 😅

Downplaying the difference in graphics modes here a bit. The downgrade in performance mode is pretty stark.

Hold your arms like Beavis, if you dangle them at your waist you'll always accidentally grab and drop stuff. I went through it too.
@@jankmedia1985 they added an option yesterday to switch between pressing the button or using the sensor
It's launched with an irritating bug. It doesn't run if 120 Hz is on
Oh my goodness this game is amazing.
Does it have hybrid touch controls?
Yep
Cannot WAIT to enter that damn radius.

Is the saving like fallout? When you load you come back exactly where you saved?

You just don’t know how to play the game, excuse me? No offense
Each to their own, but for me it's easily the best vr mechanics I've ever played. Way better than the resident evil pair.
