    2) of course
    3) obviously (obviously)
    4) replace A/C dryer every few years

I see you didn’t suggest to just replace the a/c clutch. That one is an easy one right on top. That noise is the clutch does not have anything to do with contamination in the system!

When the shop told me this the other day I said hey well mr mechanic, I just replaced the compressor only in my pathfinder about 2 years ago and its just fine. Whats the difference in me doing that now for the compressor I need for my other car?...
He essentially told me if I have moisture or debris in there than it will work but its gonna happen again. As I continue my due diligence I humbly admit I was arrogant and wrong. He was the mechanic I had evac the system... Glad I havnt put the new compressor on I got a few more parts to order...

Kinda weird the video doesn’t discuss the question of whether the problem is the whole compressor or just the clutch. Most backyard mechanics should be able to replace a clutch. But if it’s the whole compressor, who has an a/c servicing machine in their shed? Might as well just tell people to take it to a professional at that point.

Is it possible to know if the bearings on the ac compressor if it has any are bad?
I removed my ac clutch because it’s loud at all times while the car is on. With the ac on or off. I’m convinced it’s the clutch pulley bearing. But how do I know if the ac compressor bearings are bad too? Clutch is $200. Complete compressor is $350 new! It’s an expensive guess

Thank you so much I looked at so many videos I had a grinding noise in a 2003 Volvo S60 I know it was from coming from the clutch but I think that the bearing went because when I went to turn the car on it click like a dead battery. I was told that it was the AC bearing but I am a woman and I know watching so many videos such as yours that you need to really check every pulley. But the car will not start.
A serpentine belt will not turn over I don't know if it's the compressor or the clutch assembly. I would appreciate any help. I did watch your video it was very informative but the car will not turn over. Can you possibly do a video on what to do in this situation?

I’ve been getting a squealing sound when idle that gets really loud but only sometimes. If I hit a bump, sometimes it’ll get louder. I have Firestone saying it’s my AC compressor but turning AC on/off has no effect on the noise. I wish I was a a mechanic.

The belt spins the pulley for the AC compressor regardless if it’s on or off. Sounds like a ac compressor or a loose or worn belt

Hello. Thanks for the nice video. My car is Fiat Bravo 2008 1.6 diesel and since I have it I have issues with unstable rough idle, more noticeable in the summer. I tried a lot of thing with this car and no improvement, visited a lot of mechanics, diagnostics etc and nobody can't find the issue. Having in mind that the rough idle is more noticeable in the summer I started to think if there is a problem with my air conditioning and more specifically sticking AC clutch or something like this. Last 1-2 weeks my car was working fine (I am not using AC anymore as it is not hot), so a few days ago I turned on the AC and I didn't noticed any issue, but after around 20 minutes I had to drive my car again and after starting it again the rough idle was there again. So is it possible my AC clutch to be sticking for some reason even after the AC is turned off and this to cause the rough idle? Thanks in advance!

    Bad advice.
If the clutch isn't engaged the grinding isn't coming from the compressor itself.
It's either the pulley or the clutch plate needs a spacer, you don't have to remove the compressor to fix this.

The cause of the noise is the pin and ring backlash and scroll between sounds with each other hit of the eccentric coupling. Therefore, the rotation speed is limited to 6000 rpm or less, so the mechanical efficiency is poor and the life is short. The only solution is to use a double conical roller, which reveals Toyota's low IQ.

The "grinding noise" you have for all your videos at the beginning is the strongest grinding noise than any other. Please fix that. It is piercing into my ears that I also try to skip that. very annoying. Thank you very much. Now, let me watch the rest of the video.
