Just brought one of these saws. Thanks for the tips! Do you find yourself using the micro adjusting part on the fence? Seems mine has come incorrect and wont engage into the rack. But i doubt i would use it anyway. Thanks mate!
Mate great advice & that sled idea brilliant, not seen one like that before & the advice is grouse 👍, ps how you enjoying doing the videos ? You've got some top notch insights to projects 👍👍👍👍
+Sumo's Projects thanks for the 👍its trial & error making the videos then editing still learning that part but enjoying it, unfortunately I wasn't making videos when I was building those blackbutt cabinets I'm currently making one for a BBQ area hope to have that video done in a couple more weeks filming large projects will be a challenge for me will see what I come up with. Thanks for the comment cheers Gary
Aussie Woodworker G'day Gary, mate I'm relatively new to it myself mate & it's a tough thing to do as there are so many people doing videos, if you want any feedback or have questions feel free to ask mate, cheers 👍👍👍
Hi Mate, love your work.... Im a subscriber now. Just bought my first table saw thanks to you Yep and SB12! Can you please give more details about you V belt mod, if you dont mind? eg where when, why and how much.... absolute newbie here to the wood working scene... Cheers Gary
Gday Gary, I replace the V belt with what's called a Link Belt purchased mine from Carbatec in Melbourne was $90, the reason for the Link Belt was to reduce vibration and was easy to fit just make sure both pulleys are in line. Cheers 🍻🇦🇺👍
Thanks, not a cheap belt, but worth it to curb the vibes.... keep up the good work. I am impressed that a guy of my vintage (you) has the PC skills to video and edit his on clips. Something I couldn't do. Not only that to give your time to educate people like myself is a nice thing you're doing... Thank you!!!!
I've got the same saw. How do you find the fence? I find the fence is the worst part of the saw, so bad, that I'll be looking at an aftermarket replacement. One thing, I'll be double checking my motor alignment!
doesn't look like a cheap unit and it's still poorly thought out and engineered, can but shake one's head. bloody good effort at improvements though.. I really want a table saw myself, but it's going to have to be a complete DIY job, can't justify that kind of expense. the joys of a first home owner heh
Good stuff. 👍
Riffing knife on inserts what fantastic idea.

Hi mate. In this video do I notice that you have cut down the width of the rear fence guide? If so why - was it a space saving measure?

I had to shim one side of my fence so its parallel to the blade using several layers of tape
