This song extremely underplayed in my opinion.. is just magnificent! Epic Eric .. with his unique sound! Yes this is Probably Me.. absolutely soul wrenching.. yes have to let go to evolve plus to break the cycle of going nowhere in a relationship.. this is profoundly deep to those that understand.. we have to let go.. so the one we love will realise who is real and true🌹🌹

This song is like a fine wine...... Gets better with time, and it was just NOT MEANT for top 40 radio airplay. It is the type of experience that you go searching for, from a memory you had several years ago from when you were a STING fan, but had to go and serve your country and did NOT hear any music for over a year, then you come back to CON-US, and listen to this and you remember the 3 guys that you lost in your squad................ and have a breakdown in an airport when I hear this song as it HITS me LIKE A SLEDGE HAMMER. The clicking sound is a Zippo lighter. Reading a Reminisce magazine that spot lighted them. First ones made in 1932 in Pa. Good song by 2 great performers.

When I first heard this song on Lethal Weapon 3, I went out bought the CD just for this song. I’ve been playing it ever since and it hits just as hard as it did the first time. Sting, Eric Clapton and David Sanborn! Just wow!

    If the night turned cold
    And the stars looked down
    And you hug yourself
    On the cold, cold ground
    You wake the morning
    In a stranger's coat
    No one would you see
Ask yourself, 'Who'd watch for me?
'My only friend, who could it be?'
    It's hard to say it
    I hate to say it
    But it's probably me
    When your belly's empty
    And the hunger's so real
And you're too proud to beg
    And too dumb to steal
    You search the city
    For your only friend
    No-one would you see
You ask yourself, 'Who could it be?
'A solitary voice to speak out and set me free'
    I hate to say it
    I hate to say it
    But it's probably me
You're not the easiest person that I ever got to know
And it's hard for us both to let our feelings show
    Some would say
I should let you go your way
    You'll only make me cry
But if there's one guy, just one guy
Who'd lay down his life for you and die
    It's hard to say it
    I hate to say it
    But it's probably me
When the world's gone crazy, and it makes no sense
And there's only one voice that comes to your defence
    And the jury's out
And your eyes search the room
One friendly face is all you need to see
And if there's one guy, just one guy
Who'd lay down his life for you and die
    It's hard to say it
    I hate to say it
    But it's probably me
    I hate to say it
    I hate to say
    But it's probably me
    I hate to say it
    I hate to say
    But it's probably me
    I hate to say it
    I hate to say
    But it's probably me

Thank God for different covers and renditions of great songs like this! My search history only consist of a small amount of Jazz, r&B and gospel so I'm unaware of a lot of touching beautiful music. I'm honored to stumble across a (Forever in my playlist) song like this.

The thing I like most about this song is, even though it was written for Part 3, it could count for the whole series; the melody can be heard all the way back to the score for the first movie.
